Over a forty-eight hour time-frame, the restaurant transforms from Park Avenue Winter to a completely new décor for Spring, inspired by a classic English garden with wild, raw vegetation and materials. To convert the cuisine to the new season, executive chef Kevin Lasko created the refined, spring-inspired menu, offering dishes that highlight the best of spring’s produce. Richard Leach, James Beard award winner and executive pastry chef, developed a selection of stunning dessert presentations, highlighting spring fruits, like rhubarb and berries.
"We went as a group for Sunday brunch to celebrate after a graduation and had a wonderful time. Service was prompt and excellent. The food was absolutely delicious - I had the beet salad and the Upper East Sider (bagel/lox and eggs benedict). We all enjoyed ourselves tremendously! The restaurant was brightly lit, which is always an issue with my parents who have trouble reading the menu in dim restaurants. Despite the many groups and even children out to brunch it was not noisy at all, we never heard conversation from other tables - so we were able to enjoy our little party."

"Food is always good and service is good, although usually slow. Can be noisy withy children. Your reservation time is always at the mercy of when big parties decide to leave their table. So entires a long wait even with your reservation."

"I went with a girlfriend for dinner, having heard great things about the restaurant. The Pea Soup was amazing. Everything else was quite lack luster. The service lacked polish and wore very ill-fitting lilac button down shirts (most were far too large and looked baggy and sloppy). Twice people tried to take my entree plate before I was finished. The prices are far too high for this lack of attention to detail."

"Once again, the latest iteration of Park Avenue provided us with a terrific culinary and oenophilic experience. Our appetizers were exceptionally good ... gnocchi and escargot with garlic, yuzu!! and a few strategic drops of chili oil was delicious, as was my partner's goat cheese and egg yolk raviolo with bacon spring peas and morels. All 3 fish entrees -- salmon, halibut and snapper -- were savored. Dessert, carmel roasted golden pineapple angel food cake with basil ice cream, was light and scrumptious, beautifully presented. We enjoyed, upon the recommendation of the sommelier, a wonderful Russian River pinot noir, 2008 Alysian -- fantastic!!
One slight quibble ... service seemed a trifle perfunctory from the new wait staff."

"Our server was training a new server. Our trainer needed training herself. Food was gooe with the exception of my husbands skirt steak. He ordered it med rare. It was so thin it could only be cooked well done. No pink at all which made it tough. Sorry people. Maybe next time you can make it tp to him. Somehow a "gee I'm sorry" just doesn't get it."

"This restaurant never disappoints-it remains consistently reliable in the food/service and ambience arena. It is a perfect place to take friends for a first-time outing. One of the few dining halls where the noise level, considering elements of the decor, stays at a low level. Extremely pleasant, always from my many times eating here!"

"I can honestly say that this was the worst dinning experience i've ever experienced in New York City. Within the span of 2hrs, we had 4 different waiters - the last 3 seemed to be drafted into service as our exasperation and look of dismay garnered sympathy service. Our primary waiter (Ariel i think his name was) seemed to regard our table as the location of the locust and plague referenced in the bible. His casual disregard and what appeared to be disdain for our party led to many gaps in service as we hitched hiked our way through dinner with the occasional good samaritan waiter advancing our way through the various courses of the meal.
In summary, may be the experience for a party with different types of people will be more inviting."

"This is gorgeous small dining room. (Restaurant also has 3 other specialized group dining rooms that sound quite interesting.). We went for brunch. There is good selection and food was delicious....I had spring pea soup that was rich but light.....great flavor. Fruit appetizer was plain (for once) but perfect fruit ...ripe and delicious. Ricotta pancakes were again light and most interesting. While we (a couple in their 60s) were eating...a group came in with 6 small children (under 5).....they seemed to accommodate this group quite well......without disturbing other diners which I found quite good......it is generally not a restaurant for families but certainly well done. Décor was lovely spring colors.....modern and sleek."

"We have been here many times before and it is one of our favorite places. Service is usually pretty good. However, this time our waiter Juan Carlos had an attitude when we asked a few questions about the items on the menu. He kept bumping into my chair through out our the dinner and was uncourteous for the rest of the evening. Maitre d' and the ladies at the reception were very kind and they are the reason I have given the service any stars at all. It's amazing how a bad waiter can ruin your evening. We tipped 18%, much lesser than our usual. Food (especially the appetizers and the salad) was very good as always. Desserts are just okay."

"Lots of restaurants hype their Farm-to-Table offerings, but Park Avenue Seasons delivers. The menu completely changes each season, and you can guarantee that whatever is in season, that is what is on the menu. We make a point of coming every season to see what's new!"

"This restaurant was recommended by a friend who said that it was a must while in NYC. She was so right! I loved the concept of changing decor and menus with the seasons. It looked lovely on the website but was even more beautiful in person. The food was amazing; particularly the chicken liver appetizer. The servers were all very pleasant and even though it was busy, they took the time to chat with us. The Wine Steward/Manager was wonderful! Thanks everyone for making my husband's birthday extra special with the cake!"

"We had an early dinner so it was very quiet when we arrived, but towards the middle of the meal when other people started to sit down there was a nice noise level. The kind of noise that tells you everyone is enjoying their company and dining experience.
I thought the menu contained items for anyone's liking and the decor was delicate, tasteful and pretty.
The food was fantastic. It was seasoned well, nice to look and portioned well.
The desert we had, angel food cake with Basel ice cream, which was recommended by the staff was ok. Flavors where good, but it was deconstructed, which I never like in a dessert.
Regarding service I will say that they were very attentive, considerate and friendly, which is all that you can ask for."

"I went to dinner the other night with 4 businessmen, all well dressed and sophisticated. Two live within a block of the restaurant and are neighborhood regulars. We were treated with ambivalence from both the maitre'd and our waiter, and the service was unattentive. It was uncrowded so there is no excuse (we had a 6:45 PM reservation). We spent a lot of money and had several bottles of wine, and we left feeling unappreciated and that the management was arrogant. That attitude showed across the board (in the dining room and at the bar), and despite good food and the lone bright spot of a good wine steward, I would not recommend this restaurant. There are so many others in the area that are better."

"I generally don't eat out anymore on the upper east side but when I do I always try to make it happen at Park Avenue Sping/Summer/Fall/Winter. The restaurant always looks different and the wait staff bends over backwards to make you feel special. Clients love it and get excited about trying the chef's new and unusual twists. The portions are defintely small (for my husband) but perfect for me. This place never gets tired. Really."

"We had an amazing meal---- breadbasket through desert. All requests were taken care of expertly. One diner has food restrictions and asked for all accoutrements/ sauces to be put on the side and it was handled expertly. Everything was placed on separate plates leaving the meat very 'clean'. The food presentation was gorgeous and every bite was better than the next.
The ambience was wonderful---- the dogwood branches were amazingly beautiful. This was a very special dining experience."

"I was looking for a very romantic restaurant for an anniversary. I was told about the Park Spring, that it had a nice atmosphere and food. Unfortunately, not particularly romantic at all (certainly the table we were sitting at). The food was average, as well as the service. To top it off, the prices were crazy high (even by Manhattan standards). Not worth the money."

"We thought the restaurant looked beautiful. Strangely we were first shown to a table at the back but asked to be moved to the main room where there was plenty of room. An important criticism of the room was that the tables for two people were arranged around the outside meaning that one guest sat facing the wall and therefore couldn't enjoy the beautiful decorations. May I suggest you visit the 21 Club where the tables around the walls of the restauant are arranged so that a couple sits with their backs to the wall and can therefore enjoy the ambience more.

"Park Avenue always delivers a very good meal and our recent visit was no exception. The menu is straightforward and honed to appeal to Upper East Side tastes and pocketbooks. Our salads were fine and our entrees (halibut with black truffles and the snapper) were perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Service was friendly and efficient. My only reservation is that their two tops are very small and so closely spaced that you are uncomfortably privy to your neighbors' conversations and they to yours. We would eat here more often if we had slightly more comfortable seating."

"I was looking for a lunch spot to linger with a girlfriend i hadn't seen in awhile. This was perfect. We had an unrushed, delicious, beautifully served, meal in a beautiful looking restaurant, the staff was gracious, helpful and just the right amount of friendly. The menu was interesting. My only complaint was the plain wooden chairs were very uncomfortable."

"Park Avenue Spring is one of our favorites in NYC. We brunch there at least once per season, if only to check out the latest makeover. And the food, ambience, and service add up to way more than the place charges. Major bargain.
So last weekend's experience was pretty frustrating. One wall of the main dining room had been set up for a party which inhabited the room as if they had rented out a private banquet facility -- calling back and forth, milling about next to other tables. Nobody else's brunch experience mattered to them or (apparently) to the management.
In all, pretty shabby treatment, if entirely within the restaurant's rights."

"This was my first dining experience at Park Avenue Spring. Zach took me here for my birthday dinner. I ordered the latkes as an appetizer, which were delicious and were served with two amazing sauces. Zach had a delicious salad as his appetizer. For the main course, I ordered the cod fish and Zach had the lobster. Both were outstanding. And for dessert, I had the savory rhubarb and bananas served with crisp fritters, warm cake and sorbet. Park Ave. Spring did a great job surprising me with a candle in my dessert for my birthday. Zach wanted to try something different than me, so he went with the caramel roasted pineapple served with angel food cake and basil ice cream. All in all, we loved our first experience here and will be back."

"Everything was truly perfect....incredibly outstanding ... except for one thing: our table. Therefore, when I return, which I definitely will, I will: not use OpenTable; ensure that I request from the restaurant directly when I make my reservation for any table that is not adjacent to the stairs (I felt like I was in the traffic pattern among other negative feelings)."

"I have only brunched here, but I wager that the other meals are as expertly prepared. I can add little to the good reviews already written; the presentation, service, setting, ingredients and flavors all combine to make a magical brunch experience. The décor changes refresh one's appreciation, and with each new season it really is like rediscovering an old flame. Eventually I hope to try every item on the very concise bill of fare, but for those who can't be bothered to think about it, a brunch comprising their strawberry-rhubard-prosecco thing, the "Upper East Sider," and the chocolate-ancho sorbet will send you on your way sufficiently truffled, sauced and spiced to face the day."

"This is a go-to neighborhood choice for me. I love the changing decor (Spring is shades of lavender, Winter was really lovely this year). Brunch on Saturday and Sunday is very civilized, even the children behave. I prefer the upper dining rooms, the tables for two aren't too close."
