"Only place in the whole city that took our reservation for 12ppl on father's day weekend. The food was very good (rib-eye, alfredo pasta, endive salad, scallops, spinach dip), champagne was reasonably priced, service was spot on (water glasses were always filled. Though they do charge a cake cutting fee, but worth every penny of the $50 pp we spent."

"One of my favorite things about our experience was how not rushed we felt. The wait staff allowed for plenty of time between courses and after the meal without hovering or seeming to try to get us out for the next party."

"A nice setting can only take a place so far. Poor wine service, overly salty starters, and a very loud atmosphere made for a quick dinner and a quick escape. My main dish was good, but it will take more than a well cooked piece of chicken to get me to return."

"I've been to Barmache for dinner before and it's usually a nice spot with an attractive crowd and great ambiance. It's kept very dark at night, with only candles or dim chandeliers and is usually packed.
During the day the restaurant is very bright with it's corner lot location. We had Sunday brunch at 1PM and the restaurant was almost empty, which left us feeling a bit awkward. The service was also fairly slow, despite us being 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant. The meal was great and my guests left happy and full, but it wasn't the typical NY Sunday Brunch I was hoping for."

"Above all, the woman who helped me to alter my reservation and oversaw the evening was by far the loveliest hostess: accommodating, informative, attentive, not pushy although my party was late and the night was busy. The service was a teeny bit scattered, but relaxed and attentive. The ambiance is GORGEOUS (great lighting makes everyone look gorgeous). And yet the place is not at all stuffy. We didn't enjoy the shrimp risotto, unfortunately. But all dishes were well prepared and the salads, desserts and appetizers were excellent."

"Early evening on a Tuesday, so may not be broadly applicable but was a great spot for happy hour. Really good cocktails, from concept to delivery. Friendly service and nice ambiance. Decor is warm and inviting but still chic. Just had snacks (dip, tacos) but hoping to come back for brunch."

"The amount of people packed in, including the woman from the table next to me who was sitting on my lap, coupled with the music, made for a dreadful evening. We aren't even old, we are young and we couldn't believe the noise.
Our server would rather have been anywhere else in the world, which was tragically obvious when we asked him what his favorite things were on the menu, or what he recommended.
Food was ok.
Experience was terrible."

"Found this one on Open table's 1000-point list. I can't wait to go back. We had big salad, scallops and truffle risotto, and a couple of glasses of wine. Perfect!"

"The food was great and the staff was helpful. We stayed there for hours, drinks were amazing...the staff was attentive but never rushed us even though we stayed way after we finished out food."

"Great find! The portabello burger was delicious and my date enjoyed his steak. We both had the Malbec which was very good with both meals. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Service was attentive - my water glass was never empty. The environment was very romantic with great lighting. I definitely recommend. You won't be disappointed!"

"Took some business colleagues for dinner and was very satisfied with the food, service and ambiance. The Portobello mushroom burger was moist and full of flavor. The wine list was stocked with good wines for under $ 50. Would definitely recommend."

"Good cocktails, and we had a great table in the back corner so it was a bit less loud and a little more secluded. Food was good too; nothing crazy but a solid meal."

"A cute little restaurant with great ambiance. It had an intimate feeling with low lighting and chandeliers. Sat in a corner table in the back tucked away next to a window."
