Bill Dessel had a vision of what was needed in the East Bay area: the ultimate American bistro/tavern. With the support of family and friends, Billy’s opened its doors in April, 2009. Billy’s is committed to providing its guests the highest quality at affordable prices. Nothing on the menu is over $20! Billy’s uses superior meats and seafood, provided by Kinnealey Meats and Foley Fish, and the freshest local produce. Whether you are enjoying the famous Billy Burger, sautéed calamari or mouth-watering pasta, you can taste the difference. We also provide our guests with an extensive, eclectic mix of beers and wines, carefully selected for novice and connoisseur alike.
"Consistently first rate, fresh & well cooked food. The service is always good, even when it gets a bit crazy. This is a local place that's usually packed & we visit often because the food is so consistently great, the menu choices are nicely spread out and specials are usually just that -- special. Hard to say what's best -- the lobster salad sandwich is special, the Marsala burger is a legend, salads are always crisp & fresh, seafood aslo always fresh & cooked perfectly. Don't come for the view, however: it's a smallish space that can get a little claustrophobic. You'll be busy eating, anyway so the interior decor -- which, if not elegant, is perfectly fine -- fades rather quickly."

"Billy's is a relatively new neighborhood restaurant with good food and fair prices in Barrington. The best menus items are seafood and burgers. The little necks appetizer and the Linguini with White Clam sauce were both excellent, though there weren't as many clams in the former as the menu promised. The Cobb Salad is also excellent as are the range of home made salad dressings. The Wedge salad was just average: good lettuce is hard to come by at this time of year and there were not enough bacon bits. The chili had relatively little meat and was kind of bland: just lots of tomatoes and almost no cumin or hot pepper. The coffee was stale and tasted like it has sat in the pot for a long time. The absence of expresso drinks is also a minus."

"Had a great dinner there. Something for everyone on the menu. Nice Martinis, good beer selection, wines by the glass. Good assortment of appys, had the margarita pizza. While entrees looked very good we went for the burgers which were tasty. We live around the corner from this place an wondered why we hadn't been in sooner. We will be back. Great to know we don't have to drive to Providence or Newport for a very good dining experience."

"While the food was good, the service was not. We were a party of five and waited a considerable amount of time for our food to arrive. When asked about the delay, we had several poor excuses. Considering the overpriced amount of the meal, the service should make up for this, but it did not. The highlight of the night was our bus boy Tim. He is a an asset to your establishment. Keep him and give him a raise - fantastic personality and a great help, he was more efficient and polite than our waitress."
