"Everything went as expected except for the problem in getting the bill split properly. It took negotiaitions with three different people to have the bill allocated to each dinner or dining couple. I was told that the problem was due to company policy. If so, I would not be likely to bring a group back to your restaurant. We were a group of Wharton MBA alumni, many of whom are wealthy people who dine out a lot. They were all impacted by the billing issue in a negative way. While your manager did finally acceed to our request, it took a considerable amount of time and caused a great deal of irritation."

"From the moment we walked into the restaurant, I knew that we would love it!. Service was great and food was delicious. The Pea Soup was extraordinary as was the rib eye and it was cooked just as I had requested. Highly recommend"

"Our service wasn't the best - we waited 30 minutes to place our order and our waiter didn't offer to get us another round of drinks when our glasses were all empty and he stopped by our table to drop off bread. However, the manager completely redeemed the service - he saw we had been waiting long to place an order and from that point forward, made sure we were well taken care of! The manager even gave each of us free dessert as a gesture of apology for our wait. The manager was incredible - very attentive and clearly was working very hard to ensure that everyone had a nice Mother's Day dinner! If I was rating just the manager on service, I would give 5 stars!"

Orders were wrong, cocktail glasses were changed from gorgeous, tell crystal Martinis to cheap stout thick stemmed glasses. Pour was the same but not even close to being worth the price. First time ever I was disappointed in S&W - not sure if I'll go again"

"Love this place, old world steakhouse in a contemporary setting. Jesse our server is great. The menu changes seasonally and the shrimp cocktail are massive. The Calamari are spicy and perfectly crisp. Jumbo Shrimp cocktail and great Cape may salts. Awesome Burgers despite bad corporate bread.The Steak Tartare is no longer n menu and missed. We had the Porterhouse for two and it is one amazing massive cut of prime meat. Wow! and the spinach and lyonnaise potatoes and mushrooms are awesome. "Our dinner was to celebrate a 32-year Wedding Anniversary of visiting guests from Georgia. I called just before lunch and spoke to a gentleman who took note of our special occasion and assured that it would be special. Within a few hours, they called and left a message stating that there had been a flood in the dining room and that they would accommodate us in the grill area. I thought this would be fine, except that the room was full of large screen TVs and a bit noisy. The waiter's service was okay, but sometimes seemed like he was not genuinely interested in serving the table (maybe because he was busy), insensitive to timing (trying to take plates away when dishes were not finished), and not really treating it like a special occasion."

"This was about the 8th time we did the wine lunch here. We drive in from NJ. By far it was the worst. We did not get our usual table. We had the slowest waiter I have ever seen. We were sitting there for about 22 mins. before he even took our order. We were a table of four. Our bill was 255.00 we all ordered up big! When our main dish came (we each got a big steak) we had NO wine on the table at all. I had to wait about 18 mins before they gave me some red wine by then my steak was cold. My friend had to send back her over cooked 24oz prime rib. She did order it rare! They did send out a new one at no charge.Of course there was a wait for that. When they handed us the dessert menu we asked for a little more wine. They said NO! Really?"

The occasion was capped off by the maitre'd (sp) singing a version of "Happy Birthday" to our table in a gorgeous, melodic voice. Would definitely recommend to anyone. I'm not usually a beef-eater at restaurants, but my filet was terrific, and I'm glad I made the choice."

"Everything here is very good, typical steak house menu. Bar was jumping on a Saturday night.. Opt for a table upstairs at the window. Lovely view of rittenhouse Sq. Park.. I stayed at the Rittenhouse Hotel, S&W is right there, through doors in the lobby. It was a cold,dreary night in Philly. I was happy to travel by elevator to get to the restaurant."

"My boyfriend and I went to Smith & Wollensky's for dinner last Saturday night per a recommendation from one of his co-workers. We were sat at a table by a window that had a fantastic view. The wait staff were all very friendly and the food was delicious. The sides were large portions and was definitely worth the price. Our server, Rick was awesome and the manager, Damian came over a few times to check on us. He always had the biggest smile on his face. We left full, happy and with leftovers for the week. We were very impressed and will be back again!"

"It was our first time there but not our last. One of the best steak houses in the country with a staff equally as good. When you are there ask for Damien and tell him Adam sent you and our server Christina made a great night even better.

"Our seat, was in one of the window niche's overlooking Rittenhouse Square. The food was excellently prepared. Our server was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful in terms of the wine pairings and my wife's food allergies (red pepper, and other raw fruits and vegetables). The Head Chef also came out to ask if he prepared everything good enough for my wife."

"Great Room, caring professional service staff, attentive management. Wine selection terrific and fairly priced. Food good but not as good as everything else. The bone-in ribeye nowhere near what I expected; thinly cut and nowhere the 28 ounces that was stated in the menu. Nowhere near the ribeye I've experienced on many occasions at the NYC Smith and Wollensky or Mastro's in Beverly Hill. Disappointing. The swordfish however was terrific. Salads were first rate but the asparagus side dish was overly cooked and far too spicy since it took away from the taste of the vegetable. On the other hand, the bread was perfect. So -- good and not so good. Maybe it was because we went on a Sunday evening when the restaurant was not very busy."

"Service and food was fantastic and VERY expensive. Great wine list, also crazy expensive. At least a 5x markup. The music and the lighting, however, is tragic. Barely audible rock music and super bright lights. You have this incredible location on the park, great views and its lit inside like a Walmart. No vibe, too "chain-y". Too many steakhouses in town to not have everything just right. I really love this place, I wish they would focus for a minute on the ambiance."

"A major let-down. A 'legendary name' restaurant- a huge disappointment in reality. Oysters were very small and tasteless. Hot bread was only half-baked. Steaks were very ordinary- have had much better from restaurants charging half the price. Our waitress was excellent, but other staff not so much. Another waiter dropped and broke a glass right next to us and caused a major disruption when cleaning up.
The food was slow to come out, despite restaurant only being half-full. On that note, being only half-full on Valentine's Day speaks volumes and should have been a warning to us. Would never recommend, nor visit again. Philadelphia, or any other S&W location. There are too many other good steakhouses to waste out time and money on S&W agai"
