"During a recent trip to ABQ, we dicovered this small gem of a place! Valentines dinner was a prix-fixe menu with wine pairings that was so much better than we could have expected! The Hostess/Owner made us feel right at home in this comfortable, but not overdone eatery that used to be a bank building! Guitar players roam the floor during the evening, the five course meal was outstanding, but the service was a bit rushed even though the hostess was attentive to our every need. The location is a bit remote - just off the beaten track in Nob Hill - but truly a place to seek out! Wonderful, thoughtfully prepared and presented tastes of authentic Mexican cuisene!"

"Building is a converted bank (with drive through) made to look like an old mexican restaurant. Chips (at extra cost) were cold and unappetizing. Food was ok and service was good. We went for lunch and only 4 tables were in use."

"Los Equipales is simple, yet elegant with incredible food! I had the snapper with seafood sauce. Because the sauce included mussels, shrimp, oysters, and squid in a light tomato sauce, the dish was a delightfully complicated. Each bite was uniquely flavorful: one bite was snapper in tomato sauce; while the next, mussels and shrimp; and the next snapper and squid. The fish was served over a bed of rice and accompanied by slices of grilled zucchini and asparagus.

The ambiance is definitely kid-friendly, but the complexity of flavors might not suit children or others who prefer comfort foods. My children enjoy a wide variety of food including Asian, Cajun, Middle Eastern, Soul Food, and East Indian; so, I will definitely take them!"

"The only reason I found this restaurant was through use of OpenTable.com through my iPhone. I am excited that this restaurant chose the use of this technology. I was a bit skeptical of the restaurant based on the pictures on their website. However, most reviews of service and food were excellent. Well, count me as one of those satisfied customers! The atmosphere was very inviting, and relaxing. The wait staff were absolutly professional. Not once did I feel rushed during my meal by an over zealous staff trying to grab my plate before I have finished. It's like the waitstaff work in the backgound, an surface at the right time. The food was very tasty, and perfectly seasoned. I had the shrimp enchillada plate. I enjoyed every bit."

"I would highly recommend Los Equipales!! The food was well prepared and very tasty. Nice wine selection as well. We usually skip dessert and were delighted we didn't this time. The staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. We weren't so sure when we first drove to the restaurant but don't let that fool you. This restaurant will not disappoint. There were 2 strolling musicians while we were there. The perfect touch for a valentine weekend dinner."

"The atmosphere was incredible, and the food was really good. A large variety of seafood options with a truly Mexican style of cooking. The wait staff was the friendliest of any restaurant I've ever been to! The prices were reasonable; maybe on the high end of reasonable, but the portion sizes are plentiful and the quality is worth it. The only drawback is that the service was a bit slow at times, even though my party was one of only two in the restaurant (Monday evening). However, I will definitely be returning!"

"A very comfortable atmosphere. Very much a Mexican restaurant like you would find in deep Mexico. The service was exceptional and the people that work there are extremely nice. Small and comfortable. This is the second Thanksgiving we have spent with them. A very eclectic crow. Food was a treat for eyes as well as mouth."

"We were driving through ABQ the night before Thanksgiving and wanted to try something new near the university. The lot was dark and there were no cars as we arrived, but we went on in and had a fantastic meal. Shrimp tacos were recommended and as that is not something I would usually order, I took a chance. Perfectly prepared and the taste was sublime. After dinner, don't miss the cafe de olla. Sublime! Oh yeah, the place was packed by the time we left."

"I have no doubt about saying that Los Equipales is the best Mexican restaurant in Albuquerque and very competitive to be the best of any kind. Don't expect a Tex-Mex or New Mexican restaurant-no burritos, green chile or red, but great mariscos (seafood) and regional Mexican cuisine. Erika is the most charming hostess in the city and service is outstanding."
