"We have enjoyed dining at this restaurant many times since finding it a few months ago. We dined there just last week for Mother's Day and enjoyed the meal, service, ambiance, etc. So we scheduled another visit THIS past weekend. We were disappointed that they were "out" of one of our favorite appetizers ... grilled artichokes. So we substituted with another ... Then, our cocktails were a bit disappointing in flavor and presentation (never had a lemon wedge on a mai tai before) and the flavor was definitely lacking ... Then, after our tasty meal, my husband ordered his favorite dessert ... tiramisu ... and again, they were out of that too! Atmosphere, ambiance were great .. but this visit was a little disappointing."

"We had the Prix Fixe dinner and our meals were very good - good selection, well prepared, hot from the oven, tasty and enjoyable. Our waiter, while quite harried was very personable and attentive. We always enjoy the Beach House and the setting overlooking the ocean can't be beat!"

"We had a reservation for 5:30 PM on Saturday evening. We arrived at 5:10 and approached the podium. They asked if we would like to be seated and what the reservation name was. I could see the reservation list and as the hostess looked for my name, we both discovered it was not there! I had made the reservation about a month in advance and had received a confirmation the day before. So, the hostess grabbed two menus and rushed us up to a "nice table by the window" upstairs. Well, the nice table was not nice! It was in the sun, the window could not open due to the table and chair configuration and there were about a half a dozen flies clinging to the window just inches from our table!! The lobster bisque tasted burned too!"

"Great romantic views, perfect for a special occasion or date. I saw a bunch of groups at dinner as well having a great time. The Beach House is very cozy and you really feel like you at a unique restaurant, one that has been a neighborhood favorite for years.
The service was awesome. Our waitress was very attentive to our table- but not too much because that can get annoying and feel like they are rushing you through dinner. But when we did need something she was always there at the right times.
Food was underwhelming though. Both of our entrees were lacking flavor, and the fish/starch pairings were awkward- tuna ahi w/mashed potatoes?! I got the mahi and the rice it came with was awkward consistency."

"We had a group of 8 with reservations. They had us seated upstairs. The upstairs is dated and needs some TLC. Wife was very disapointed that they could not seat us on the patio. Past years this was OK to be seated on the deck. Been dinning here for mothersday for the past 10 years. Food and drinks always very good."

"Kid-friendly AND romantic? Yes, Beach House pulls it off nicely with their ocean view. We were there with our 9 and 11 year old girls and had a really lovely evening! To start, our reservation time was honored about 15 minutes late - but the porch in front was comfortable and kept our daughter's attention. Our table wobbled a bit, but our server, Joy, quickly remedied the problem. We had a view of the ocean from inside the restaurant - there's really not a bad table in the place. The food was very good - even the kid's meals. I loved my lobster quesadilla (an appetizer that I had for my meal) and the chopped salad. Beautiful presentations and delicious! The service was attentive but not intrusive. A great end to the special day."

"Yes, it is literally on the gorgeous beach of Laguna and yes the building itself has tons of character. But... the servers are lazy and inattentive, the food is overpriced and not interersting, and there is no caring attitude from staff. I would recommend it for a tourist but no one else."

"This Laguna Beach spot is right on the sand. We have eaten her at least 15-20 times in as many years, Breakfast, Lunch and dinner and never been disappointed. We had lunch off the Sunday Brunch menu most recently. The Ahi stack is Great.. We also tried the Lobster quesidilla (sp?) and Artichoke this time. I'd recommend all 3. It's also one of the best places to watch dolphins swim."

"The started out with the clams and they were very good. The NY Steak was very good. The fresh spinach was a little to salty. We thought for the price, the Ahi Tuna portion was a little small. We ordered no potato extra vegetables and didn't get it. We think because of the small portion of tuna, they served the potato to fill the plate. The service was very good.

"Even on a day when the skies were overcast, the view of the ocean was perfect. Our brunch favorite is the Eggs Benedict and they did not dissapoint. We dined on a week day (off season) and the restaurant was not full, so we really enjoyed a peaceful meal.
Be aware that the parking situation has changed over the last few years. It is now a set valet price of $6.00, even with a validation. Still a lovely way to enjoy the Laguna coast!"

"The diners who had been at the table before us took their bill and left, so our waitress could not close them out. Because of this we had to wait longer than normal to receive our drink order. The manager apologized, and our drinks were on the house. I had the ahi/crab stack which was an edible work of art with the colorful layers of avocado, mango, fish all topped off with a bright green seaweed salad. A perfect meal for overlooking the water on a sparkling afternoon."

"We had a memorable experience and will definitely return. Originally the reservations were made at The Deck, and we were confused because we weren't informed that The Deck was closed. There is still a menu posted on the website and it's different from the menu at the restaurant. The Deck is now The Beach House. Weird. But the food and service are both top notch and the scenery and location right on the Beach could not be any better. Loved this place! Aside from the confusion and the fact that they ran out of the beer that our groom wanted, this has to be one of my best experiences ever at a restaurant."

"I can't remember eating in a more noisy atmosphere. The food was good, but not exceptional. The view, of course, is spectacular at sunset. This restaurant has been open since 1967. The bar looked very nice, but was empty. We had not been there in years, and now we have eaten there again, so probably won't return for years."

"We love the "tucked away" location of this restaurant and the scenic views of the ocean. We also love the food. However, we have dined here twice in the last few months and service is always fair at best. We sat down in the bar to have a drink before dinner (which was almost empty at the time) and it took about 10 minutes for the cocktail waitress to even notice us. Dinner service was also lacking. The waitress was not very attentive or pleasant. Each time we've visited this restaurant, we have observed more wait staff standing around talking to each other than waiting tables."

"We have a tradition. When our friends come to their Time Share twice a yr in LB, we always meet for lunch here. For the first time, one of us ordered the shrimp ceviche and it was excellent and a generous portion served with crunchy chips. The two guys split an order of oysters on the half shell... loved them! Crab Benedict, Seafood Salad Plate, and Lobster Quesadilla were good, too. At lunchtime the noise level is a bit much in the patio room."

"I love this place, and highly recommend it. That said, the quality of the food was somewhat less the second time I went. I used a groupon, which has its own special menu. The items on the groupon menu were pretty mediocre and bland. However, the rest of the menu was amazing during my previous visit."

"The Beach House has been my favorite place to celebrate my birthday lunch for the past few years. This Wednesday, my husband and I enjoyed a tasty lobster dinner special and were happy to see the sunset while we relaxed. The tasty crab cakes were spicy, while my clam chowder hit the spot on a cool night. Our cheery server was helpful and friendly. We definitely recommend a casual dinner, with good wine list and romantic beach scene."

"Had pre-fixe menu through Groupon deal. We ordered crabcakes for appetizer, mixture of steak & lobster tail as main entry, plus dessert. Crab cake was pretty good, but lobster didn't taste fresh and overcooked, steak wasn't tender, and desserts tasted out of frozen boxes. However, the restaurant was packed and the ocean front view and location were great."

"We were a little disappointed. We got there at 7:10pm before our 7:30 reservation. I checked in and we were asked to take a seat in the bar. After 45 minutes I approached the hostess who didn't remember me( I was wearing a bright coral colored top) and said she called us a few times with no response. She could clearly see us at the bar but I let it go. She said we would be next however she took 2 couples before us. The saving grace was our waitress was great however way over worked as she had 2 dining rooms to cover. Food was great as usual. They didn't charge us a corking fee for the wine we brought which was a plus. The experience was just shy if 3 hours."

"Overall we had a very nice time. It was mainly the ambiance of dining right next to the ocean. I have dined here a few times and the food was always good. This time it was a bit disappointing. The lobster bisque was not good. It needed salt and really didn't taste like lobster bisque. It was very thick and bland and tasted more like the roux used to thicken it. It was pasty. I had the lobster quesadillas. There was not much lobster or shrimp in it. Mostly tomatoes and cheese. It was a huge disappointment. I think I might stick to breakfast from now on."

"This has been a haunt of mine for years & always the GOTO spot for out of state visitors. But, it has been years since my last visit here. Too bad for me. Thanks to Groupon I have returned to find this place exactly how I remember it(how often does that happen?). The food is great, wine is great and THE VIEW, what can one say about THE VIEW. Eating good food, drinking great wine on the outside balcony, overlooking the sand & surf of Laguna Beach, the beautiful Pacific Ocean and if your lucky enough a beautiful California sunset hits all the notes of why we live in California."

"We visited the Beach House in January and had a terrible experience. We were left on the outside balcony and ignored. But we decided to try it again and had a wonderful experience! The food was delicious. The service was still a bit slow, but we were not in a hurry so it was fine. All in all it was an enjoyable evening."
