"We visited Orchids for Valentine's day this yr. This was absoultely the most incredible culinary experience that I have ever had. I will never forget the awesome decor and ambiance, not to mention the superb menu selections. Although it was admittedly very pricey, I would without a doubt recommend Orchids to anyone who is seeking an extraordinary dining location. "After reading the laudatory review in the Cincinnati Enquirer in November, 2009, we were excited to finally plan a dinner with friends here. The food preparations were creative and wonderful. As vegetarians and fish eaters, we had a delicious selection. It is a thrill to dine with a view of the authentic, beautiful art deco bronze sculptures and murals that adorn this classic and special room, truly a Cincinnati focal point. Great also to see the young crowd scene at the bar on Saturday night. It's a great destination for a perfect meal and one to visit over and over, which we will now surely do."

"Beautiful setting, with a helpful (if aloof) staff. The food was rather disappointing, considering what we had heard/read. My meat--pork tenderloin--was very dry, and tough. My wife's scallops were gritty. She had a dessert that she considered nearly inedible.

My cocktail had a funky taste (not sure what that was).

For some reason they kept refilling our sparkling water glasses with table water.

Appetizers were very good.

I gave my waiter a nearly 40% tip, and he only seemed moderately grateful."

"I just came back from my 60th birthday celebration at Orchids and could not have had a better meal and service. Everything was exquisite from the hostess to our fabulous server, Steven Mc Kensey (sp?) to the food and wine. I had told them that it was my birthday when I reserved through Open Table and from Steven to the wine steward to the other servers they all wished me Happy Birthday and were very gracious

Many restaurants call themselves fine dining. Tonight Orchids proved themselves to be at the top of that list in Cincinnati.

Bravo for making my birthday all that I could have hoped it to be and more."

"The experience that my wife and I had was absolutely the best. Everything was perfect. The service could not had been better. The food was great! The ambiance was unmatched. What a perfect evening. My wife stated that it was the best dining experience she ever had. And I would put it up to one of the best myself. And I know, I am on the road 130 nights per year and live in restaurants. "We chose a different seating location this time around just to get a varied perspective of the layout. We sat in a corner seat by the entrance to the kitchen. The view from the "back" all the way to the bar area was quite awesome. The only thing that did not change was the food and the service. Quite spectacular. The Red Snapper in parchment I would eat regularly........if allowed. The real beauty is that for the level of service and the quality of the food that you receive, the final cost is fairly affordable."

"This is a Queen City gem, the food is innovative and delicious. Service was very good. Orchids can be a bit noisy at times depending on how many are at the bar, and who is tickling the ivories. The Maine lobster salad was 5 stars, the red snapper and rack of lamb were also exquisite. Truly a wonderful dining experience. For a fantastic brunch there is no place better than Orchids on a Sunday morning."

"My husband and I went to the Orchids at Palm Court to celebrate our anniversary. It is a beautiful place. The presentation of the food was one of the best I have ever expericenced. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a romantic dinner. I loved the relaxed feel of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes. "We were a group of six and were there on a weeknight during Christmas season. The restaurant wasn't especially busy, but the service was somewhat lackluster. For the price range of this restaurant, I expect impeccable service. We had to make several requests multiple times. We had long waits for our cocktails, our wine and some of the courses. The food ranged from very good to just ok, but nothing was stunning (again a disappointment at this price range.)"

"Our family had dinner at Orchid right before Christmas to celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday and our wedding anniversary. "I was expecting a stuffy atmosphere with uninspired food but I was so wrong. This place offers the best cuisine in Cincinnati, hands down. I had the vegetarian Chef's tasting and wine pairing (how great to see so much vegetarian food!) and my date had the regular chef's tasting. At first I was dismayed to see stodgy old risotto and tofu on the menu, and while these were the least outstanding for the 5 dishes, they were still much better than any other risotto or tofu dish I've had in this city. Please don't skip this restaurant because it's in a hotel or because it has a grandma-ish feel (which, it doesn't really, just think MadMen-esque). It puts every other fine dining restaurant in the city to shame."

"The Orchids definitely earned #1 restaurant in Cincinnati. The ambiance was magnificant, the food was absolutely delicious, tremendous wine list.
