The setting is quintessential Sausalito--the deck overlooking Richardson Bay and the boats passing by, sunshine and a day to relax and enjoy seafood, prime rib, fresh oysters,Dungeness crab and many varieties of salumi. Early morning beignets with dipping cream sauces and a cup of cafe du monde chicory coffee with straus cream is a great way to start the day. Casual dining any day of the week at a Sausalito institution.

"Great combo for ambiance and seafood. Salads and Crab to die for. Crab Enchiladas were excellent. Our servers were on top of everything. No waiting for drinks or extras. Weather and view were absolutely perfect. Very quaint, relaxing and yet the positive energy from other patrons precipitated by staff and ambiance were 2nd to known. It seems like a really happening place that locals like to frequent and reward themselves with. Best thing we have experienced since Newport and Laguna Beach venues without all the people. We will return from Sacramento soon."

"Our most recent visit to Salito's was as good as usual. My wife's fried calamari left a little to be desired but overall, the experience was good. My prime rib was excellent as usual and is one of the reasons we continue coming back."

"Surprised the by the quality of the food. Enjoyed some very good seafood dishes and a few of the new breakfast menu items for Mother's Day. Smaller portions and not cheap, but not overly expensive for what you get (in Sausalito). It was great to sit out on their large waterfront deck in the sun. They have a good number of heat lamps, so I imagine it would be a great place in the evening as well."

"The deck was great on a warm afternoon. Our waiter was great, but he was not very attentive. Bus boys were too busy and not very helpful. We asked for bread plates 3 times. Just not enough help for a busy Sunday afternoon. We wont be back, the lack of service and ok food for this price range is just not acceptable."

"Located on the water, the view is the reason one would go to Salito's. And given that we had a reservation which was promptly honored, we garnered a seat by the window. Main dishes are served in rather beat-up looking aluminum skillets and food looked like it had been prepared ahead and allowed to sit. My shrimp were decidedly under-seasoned, although plentiful, and came with a tiny pasta. Side of creamed spinach was pretty good. Best part of the meal was the complimentary crab cakes which were nicely crusty with virtually all crab inside. Definitely don't expect much from the food."

"Food was just OK...ordered the open face omelette w/crab and green onions. That added $8 to a $10 omelette. I did not get $8 worth of crab there, sorry. The dish itself was good, nothing special. Service varied from fair to good -- server got our order wrong but it was fixed in a timely way. $9 mimosas were nice but smallish for the price/alcohol imho. Like i said the experience was OK."

"Went to Salito's as a last minute choice. We knew it was a tourist destination, and thus not the best place in Sausalito, but opted to give it a shot. The prices were baffling and we almost left. Decided to stay and got the large mussels with bread to share for two. The portion was on par with the cost, and the mussels pretty tasty. However, you can make anything taste good with copious butter and garlic. Overall it was a decent meal, but the pours on the drinks were weak and the prices over the top."

"We had a very nice dinner at Salito's on Sunday and enjoyed watching the activity in Richardson Bay as we dined. The bread is wonderful and comes hot in a skillet. The side salads were delicious and the house dressing had a wonderful fresh flavor. Three of us had different types of fish with the lemon-butter sauce and cous cous pasta. The only negative comment is that the cheese plate appetizer was smaller than we expected for the price and did not come with crackers or bread to use with the cheese. It did have cranberries along with the cheese which was a tasty combination."

"Went on recommendation. Glad they have their own parking lot for guests. Host/hostess were very friendly upon arrival. Was not too busy nor crowded on the day we had lunch. We opted for indoor table away from direct sun and were seated near the open window overlooking water. Great spot with a breeze. Service was excellent; food was good. We ordered crabwich (not enough crab meat). The side of potatoes with the sandwich were hot and creamy, a great change from french fries. We would recommend and return for lunch again."

"We loved our visit but can offer a few tips to the owner. When we arrived we were seated promptly by a friendly hostess, but we noticed that after she sat us-she was done! Usually at that point drinks would be requested, etc. so we sat and waited for our server for about 15 minutes. My husband noted that our waiter seemed to be the only one on the patio at the time, however there were numerous bus boys raoming around in grubby black T-shirts. Two suggestions would be-make it more of a team effort, especially when you can see customers who have been waiting a while for a drink-let the hostess start some drink orders...Also-get the bus boys nicer attire! The food was great when it did arrive. This place could be 5-star if your team cared!"

"The food was pretty good and so was the ambiance. It's a very cute restaurant located directly by the water and has a super nice view of the boats and bay. Very romantic to take a date here or for a group of people looking to have a good time. The only complaint I have was our waiter. He didn't seem like he know what he was doing at all. He was super annoying and ruined the total romantic atmosphere by coming up at the wrong times or not coming up to us when we expect."

"We were excited to return to this bay side restaurant and enjoy their seafood and Prime Rib.
Unfortunately, our experience was not nearly as good as our first visit.
The food was excellent...I enjoyed the 1/2 crab and we also shared the Prime Rib which was very good...along with the Wild Rocket Arugula Salad.
The problem we encountered was bad service. Our waiter was slow to greet us ( while he was waiting on us he was very friendly...but he would disappear for long periods of time. I
had to flag down( who I think was a manager ?) to get utensils to crack our crab! the manager
was not friendly nor apologetic about helping us."

"Salito's is a great choice when you are visiting Sausalito. It's easy to get to in the sense that you can take an exit very near by and not have to drive too far through town. Parking is easy and with a reservation you can get a table easily. It has a unique open air feel and it's not so fancy that you feel you have to be dressed up, but it's not so casual that the ambiance or service lacks.
Try the home made Kettle Bread!"

"We asked for a quiet location and were given a very nice one, over at the side of the room. My husband likes his veggies NOT al dente but cooked a little more, and asked to have that done. The staff complied, and he really loved the veggies. Staff was very helpful and we enjoyed the evening-- my daughter's Valentine Day birthday, a very special event."

"I wouldn't think of anywhere else to go on Valentines Day! We just moved in down the street, and Salito's is our new favorite destination. Once again the food and service were exceptional! The table on the water was perfect. The Prime Rib and bread are fantastic...next time - Crab!! Thank you so much for being so consistently great!!!!"
