"Attentive and attractive staff but the food and drinks are ordinary and outdated. I don't understand why the reservations are so difficult to get?!?! I'm assuming it's due to the large number of old/unattractive men that go their to gawk at the staff."

"Hi all, I had to write a review after my visit to Sur. I had planned to go to surprise my lovely wife on her 25th birthday with a trip to her fave reality show's restaurant..Now, we didn't go to see all these reality stars, in fact it was more the experience - but that experience was marred by poor food, lack of interest in celebrating my wife's birthday (infact they did nothing even though they knew) and just poor - ripped decor and cheapness.
I understand its all about feeling the 'reality show vibes' etc - but I did expect a lot more.
Come back again? Only if you clean the chair covers and get a chef who can cook!"

"I loved the ambience of the restaurant, there was a good selection on the menu & all food was very affordable. There was also a good selection of drinks including the Lisa Vanderpump cocktail. Our waiter offered good service & wait times were minimal for all food & beverages.
I highly recommend the chicken & shrimp steamed dumplings for your appetizer, between the group we tried the Veal Milanesa, the Crispy Chicken Breast & the Blackened Chicken Breast. All three dishes were delicious."

"So we booked this coming from Australia due to the show based on the restaurant but found that the 'crew' were off filming somewhere else so that was disappointing. The food was ok but nothing special considering the prices. Staff were attentive but nothing I wouldn't normally expect. Overall a bit disappointing all around and probably wouldn't go back. There are a number of better, more fun places in the area."

"The atmosphere was amazing at SUR in both the restaurant and lounge. The food was also very good but we did not receive the condiments we required due to the server never returning. Unfortunately we also had to wait over an hour for our reservation. Our server only came up to us to take our order and give us our bill. At one point a hostess moved our table so there was more room for people standing up at the restaurant bar. In doing so it was very quick and abrupt knocking my very expensive purse on the floor. She just stared at it without apology. We had not asked for our table to be moved and it was very abrupt and disturbing. Although the restaurant was gorgeous with good food I would only return for maybe a drink in the lounge."

"My wife is a huge fan. On this trip to LA she was able to come and I took her to SUR. Upon arrival the hostess set us at a damaged/unsafe table, we asked to be moved immediately, which we did. What amazed us was that the hostess pushed another table next to the unsafe table and set 3 guests there. The overall condition of the restaurant was not good, the chairs were very "loose" and unstable, pictures were cooked and just gave off an unkept impression. The service was good, our server was knowledgable and attentive. The food was fair at best, the ribeye was tuff and overcooked, the vegetables served were cold and undercooked and my lamb was just ok. For the price paid and the created expectation of the show, the restaurant dissappointed."

"Unfortunatly I am a reality TV junkie so my main reson to go to the restaurant was to see SUR because I am a HUGE fan of Lisa Vanderpump. The new reason why I would go to SUR is because it is FABULOUS!!! The food is FA-NOM-ON-AL! We were a party of 4 from New York that are big foodies. We enjoyed everything about the restaurant! Service was excellent and THE BEST SANGRIA I EVER DRANK!!! I need that recipe:)

"Had the filet mignon and it was perfection. Everything was excellent. Zero complaints from a table of people who always have a complaint! Can't wait to go back. Also, Ken and Lisa were there. They visited our table and were very gracious. This was very exciting for a member of our party who absolutely adore the owners. Great time. I LOVE sur!"

"I was impressed by the interior of the restaurant. Each room has a different decorations and it looks like a different restaurant in one place. The service was very good but I wished they improve the menu selection. Overall Sur is a good restaurant to go and I highly recommend to people."

"The food here is wonderful, I cannot fault what I had, the dessert was to die for. My only reservation is they pack the tables in so much that it really isn't a place for a quiet romantic evening dinner. All conversations from the next table can be heard or hear yours. It is noisy both in the bar and the restaurant."

"Lisa Van Der Pump should be ashamed of herself -- the food arrived barely warm, the service was untrained, and inconsistent and essentially ignored us all night -- in spite of the fact we were pretty much the only ones there at that hour. I had gone to Sur years ago and loved it -- and this time I outright hated it. it was a waste of good money. the food was average -- and their famous sangria tasted watered down. I will never go back again and plan to tell others."

"Upon arrival we were greeted by the Hostess and told we would be sat 15 minutes beyond our reservation time. We were fine with that until 30 minutes later we notice people walking and being seated before us after arriving after us. Called the hostess over and she said another 15 minutes because Villa Blanca's oven went out and she needed to accommodate those guest first. Needless to say that was NOT ok as we were in from Texas and had driven over an hour to get to SUR for dinner. Once we were seated it was cramped the waitress took it personal when I sent back to lemon drop martini as it was like syrup and the soup was cold and grainy. She felt as though she had a right to berate me. Overall it was A HUGE DISSAPPOINTMENT!"

"Holidaying from Australia with friends, I was very much looking forward to dining at Sur given the publicity the restaurant has received on TV. We were however met with terrible service and found it almost impossible to get drinks at the lounge. We were ignored for much of the time and when my husband went to the bar to order was told that someone will be with you shortly. It was only after another 10 mins that I visited the bar that a waitress finally came to take our cocktail order.
The service in the restaurant was better, however after the lounge experience we were all quite disappointed and will not be returning in the future."

"SUR is a cool spot...go for drinks and apps. Food was OK. Sea Bass special was flavorful...although a bit too much crust. Shrimp risotto was nice, bit too much mozzarella cheese.

"The bartender (and I WISH I remembered his name), was absolutely great - -this was at the small bar as the large one was closed. He was from Iowa and was very friendly and made sure our drinks were great, as well as our time there. Our waitstaff, when we sat down, was great. I was disappointed as we had reservations at 5:30 and sat outside, and it was very HOT outside. We would have preferred indoor seating. Otherwise, the food was very good, and service was great. It has a lot of ambiance and charm.

"Believe me, if you plan to eat, this is not the place to go. The service and the food were both bad. Our table for 4 was seated at a 2 top next to the bar. Clearly not a good idea. One of the servers spilled a drink on a member of our party and didnt even apologize. Guillermo took our order but never came back. The food was clearly overcooked and when we inquired, they said that's how the chef prepares the dish. Kidding? If so s/he needs to be fired. When we asked for a manager, specifically a GM, Christiana, who was the hostess, came over and said she would be the manager we could speak to. The staff acted as if they were more important than the guests. This place will not be open long. Eat somewhere else."

"While the atmosphere is young, hip,and energetic ....food was excellent! delicious and food temperature was great! But our service was very poor .... Our appetizer never came....no one came to check on us we literally have to flag someone down to get attention .....Katie (server) was really sweet but she left us hanging .....we typically are good tippers but this time we left her what she deserve.....a $100 meal for 2 and thats without alcohol....she's lucky she got $10 tip!!! Which is 10 %

"If you are going to see Lisa or any of the cast - then you will probably enjoy it. We saw both Lisa & Ken, and almost all of the cast of Vanderpump Rules - so that was very exciting for us.
The bad part: We made a reservation for 8 PM and weren't seated until 8:50. That was incredibly annoying as we went back to the hostess stand three times to continue inquiring about being seated. At any other restaurant I would have walked out... But I was entertained with the bar area so we stuck around. Stassi was our waitress - nice enough, but clearly not interested in being there. She left before we did with a cocktail in her hand. That was irritating as well and the tip went to someone that didn't help us at all."

"My mom was wanting to go here since she is a fan of Lisa Vanderpump. We went and I was a little uncomfortable because I'm not a hipster and the staff are all very much hipsters. The staff were all so very nice though, the food was amazing. The place is a little bit tacky but I'm assuming its supposed to be. I definitely recommend it!!"

Have done a better job if she was in a coma. Bartenders rude and over worked
Food was second rate. Also the olive tree above was dropping olives on the couch where I sat. I sat on one in front of the waitress.. She just looked like, "oh" never saying let me clean that,let me get you another seat,let me get you a napkin, I don't care about you...nothing! My friend told me she just looked up. So we figured it was olives in the tree above us."

"Had a great romantic evening with my wife! The food was outstanding, and our waiter was extremely pleasant and attentive. Due to it being featured on a TV show, there seemed to be an overabundance of teenagers there to order a salad and look for people they recognized from the show, but that didn't detract from the experience. Try the spinach...it will not disappoint!"

"After seeing some poor reviews, my sister and I decided to go just because we are a fan of the reality show. We ended up having such a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Seared Ahi Tuna, my sister had the Salmon and we each enjoyed a refreshing glass of champagne. We then went to the bar and took a photo with Peter and Jax. We were expecting them to be annoyed by another fan wanting to take a photo with them, but instead they were so polite and happy to take a photo with us. I definitely want to go again."

"Like most people (I'm assuming) I went because of RHOBH. The decor is wonderful definitely the best part of the restaurant. It really is a beautiful space. The wait staff was clearly hired for their looks not their brains... our waiter had to come back to our table to ask us what we had ordered for dessert because he had forgotten... The food was just okay. Nothing special. Not worth the price. The cocktails were pretty delicious though... I did like them. I probably wouldn't go back for the food but I might go back for the bar."

"I thought dining at sur was absolutely amazing to have Lisa and Jen sitting at the table right next to us was just awsome they even took the time to take photos with us and ken even made conversation with us
I was just so blown away the whole time

"Great everything; I am not a Vanderpump Rules fan (not seen an episode) but there was a definite buzz at the lounge & restaurant about the reality stars. Had dinner in the restaurant side, great outdoor dining (with a few celeb sightings walking down the sidewalk!). Everyone says to try the fries goat cheese balls & for good reason; they're amazing. I had the shrimp risotto and it was amazing. I'm not even a shrimp fan but it made me love it. Boyfriend had ahi tuna and no complaints there. Drinks at the lounge side were great; nice service and great atmosphere. I'd for sure return next time in town."

"After reading all of the mixed reviews before going my wife and I were unsure of what to expect with the service, food etc. But with no surprise everything turned out amazing!! I was a bit surprised to see almost all of the cast of the TV show "Vanderpump Rules" working that night. It was fun to finally see things live. The food was great, the service was great, it was an overall great experience. My wife and I will defiantly be coming back when were are in town again.."

"It was my first time dining at SUR and I already want to go back! I was so excited because I watch the show Vanderpump Rules and I was going to get a chance to see the cast. Oh did I get lucky that night! The whole cast was there including Lisa and ken and I got a chance to take a picture with all them! Not to mention our server was Stassi, she did a fabulous job! It was such an awesome experience and definitely thinking about going back for my 21st birthday next month at the end of May."

"We went because of the show. The food tasted like dog food. If you are going to see the staff, just get drinks. Although, while we were ordering drinks at the bar (before dinner), our bartender spilled an entire drink on me and my Chanel bag. He didn't even comp us a drink, instead he over charged us for our order. Lovely."

"Service was great. Jax took a picture with my girlfriend, even made small conversation despite being very busy bartending. It made her night and in turn made mine later. Calamari was good, my steak was medium and well worth the $21 tab for the plate. Drinks were strong and we were seated outside. Loved the scenery and was impressed with the overall ambience of the place. I would definitely go back, thanks for the great night."
