"I would not recommend this restaurant for celebrating a special occasion. We had a reservation but would have had to wait 20 to 25 minutes for a table inside and 10 minutes for a table outside. The weather was nice and we choose to eat outside. The view is amazing but the service was horrible. When our food arrived it was dark out. They did not light the lanterns along the edge of the lake and we could not see our dinner. We asked for more light but by the time they came out to light a lantern we were done with our dinner. I felt their prices were extremely high for the location and expecting a much better meal and service for the price."

"Outside seating and the view is the gem of this restaurant. The deck overlooks the north end of Conesus Lake. The food is fairly ordinary and not very exciting. The price is significant for what you get, but I suppose you are paying for the location. Service was very good."

"the food is very good. You have to try the burgers they are a must. It was Mothers Day We got sat within 10 mins of our resevation but waited a long time for our food. The table next to us came in at least a half hour later and received there food less then 5 mins after us. would deffinatly return"

"Have been here three times previous to Mother's Day. The multitude of complaints about the poor acoustics and high noise level led to a close down period for some construction improvements. Unfortunately it did not seem to work. It is still TOO NOISY, especially in the dining room. It prevents an intimate dining experience. They also gave my mother the wrong order and she had to wait for a new one to be made. The new menu has also received several complaints regarding the dramatic rise in prices. I here they are again going to retool it. If you go, eat outside and enjoy the lakeviews. Otherwise, don't bother you will be disappointed as it is now..."

"Love the food....some worth the new higher prices.
Wood fired fish is a special contribution to this area.....you might want to think about lowering some of the salads prices.
Need more vegetarian entree options...please...not just pasta dishes.
Might want to improve the bread...plain white rolls are so "1950" !!!
Mixed vegetables are always better than just green beans and a few slivers of squash... however they were done to perfection!
All fish dishes at our table were perfect..(table of seven) and you so got the salmon cooked just right. Scallops were wonderful.

"In the past my family has loved going to the North Shore Grill for dinner but our last experience was very different from past years. We noticed the ambiance was a bit different with a new paint job and dim lighting. Our waitress did not know the menu well and was confused about our orders. The menu had changed and not only were many things taken off the menu but a lot of prices went up exorbitantly! All our dinners came with just the meat and starch, you had to pay extra to order vegetables with your main meal and this was not how it was before. The salads before the dinner meal were all iceberg lettuce. I'm not usually one to write reviews and critique restaurants but our dinner there contained sub-par meals and a pricey bill."

"We have eaten here before the service is better this year we liked the menu The lobster and seafood salad was good but we could have fed three people on one salad, didn't need so much seafood # or four great shrimp on a cobb salad would have been plenty. these guys are really trying to bring this restaurant up a notch or two and it shows."

"We have gone to the North Shore Grill numerous times over the past several years and usually the place was packed.
A good friend went recently and said that there were new owners, things were pricier, and the service was not as good. We decided to go anyway. It was Mother's Day and the place was less than half full. We were seated right away, but it took a seemingly long time to get water and rolls. Our waitress was very friendly and except for forgetting to bring a second drink order for one of our group, was efficient. The food was good - but not outstanding - and was pricey. Although we love the setting, we will not be going back soon."

"Food was good, bottled beer wasn't that cold but draft beer was better we could not believe they didn't have prime rib on the menu. It was a Saturday night and we were told prime rib isn't on the new menu's but may be in the future but wasn't sure. meal was good but expensive wasn't worth the prices paid."

"Arrived 30 min prior to reservation. Sat at bar for 10 minutes and wasn't served so we decided to go outside to have dinner as tables were open. Lots of mosquitos. Were debating whether to dine inside, but waitress said they would turn the lamps on in 5 min to eliminate the bugs, but were never turned on. Person who brought out the food didn't know the table #s so kept coming to us with other order.
After dinner, asked if they were going to light the fire pit. Was told yes soon so ordered another bottle of wine. 45 min later still no fire despite the temp drop about 10 deg. As we were leaving, they lit the pit around 8:15-8:30 or so.
I've been here before and it's wonderful. I think this was a case of the recent opening and untrained staff."

"We had a wonderful seafood dinner for our anniversary. The service was attentive and not intrusive. The menu has changed and prices have jumped significantly on many things - but the seafood is still an attractive price point. My only complaints were that the rice pilaf was overcooked and the house salad was made with iceberg lettuce - for this level of restaurant - it should have been fresh greens."

Meals were OK. My husband ordered a med-rare steak, but got borderline med-well. Blackened fish was cooked very well, but lacked flavor. Sides were very good, especially the evening's vegetable. The calamari was pretty good, although slightly overcooked and the coating flaked off too easily.
Would have hoped to find a better selection of wine, but what we had was good.
Overall, we had a nice meal, but we did not leave with a need to go back again soon or to refer this restaurant over other local possibilities. We know this was a new menu and really wanted to love our experience because we like the atmosphere, but the meal itself did not impress."

"For opening night, it was OK. The food was good. Staff was a little nervous, and the busboys were a little un-nerving. They kept coming over to the table, and just kept looking at our plates to see if we were done, and then when we said yes, they said I'll be right back I need a tray, really. I will go back one more time, in about a month, to see if they got it together."

"Overall, we had a great experience, but the scallops were over done and had way too much pepper on them and the lobster was just fair. The wine list was also very limited and did not have the selections we wanted and only 1 bottle of pinot grigio on the list that was very sweet. Other than that, we had a wonderful time! "I've been to North Shore several times. The service and food is always good. The wait staff and food this evening was particularly good. Being in the customer service business myself, and compared to previous visits, it seemed that the staff had recently received some exceptional training in service quality. Their service manners, quality, and attention to our needs was equal to any high-end restaurant I've been to...without the pretentiousness or stuffiness. Coupled with the great tasting food and hearty portions, North Shore Grill will continue to get my business and recommendations."

"My husband used your on-line reservations and only requested to make my birthday special. The table by the fire place was the perfect touch. Ordering a whole lobster was an experience and our waitress was gracious enough to put on her gloves and help me conquer that !!!"

"We have enjoyed several recent meals at the North Shore Grill. Last weekend, we invited some business associates to dine with us there. They were very impressed. My only critisism is that in the summer time it is very difficult to get a reservation. We have been turned away several times.
