Papillon is a stunning classic French Bistro featuring an elegant rustic decor that brings you back through time to a provincial town in France. The exquisite decor is the perfect setting for Papillon's culinary delights. Our ambience is the ideal environment for young professionals to meet and socialize.
"This place will do well as just a bar, not a bar/restaurant combo. What was really disturbing was how many bar customers were standing around the dining area. It made myself and the rest of my party feel very uncomfortable. The service was slow and rude. The food was okay, nothing spectacular and my fish was quite dry. I did come here for drinks one time and it was a much better experience in that mind set."

"Went there for dinner. It was way too loud there. The food was average. The chairs look like they got them at a garage sale and feels like it too when sitting."

"I had a great meal here last time I visited, but this most recent time the noise was horribly loud. It was about 7:30PM on a Thursday and the restaurant was full of midtown young professionals who were drinking. I actually had to leave before we ordered because it was so loud I couldn't hear my boyfriend over the music and drinking patrons at the bar."

"I've always enjoyed coming here, but today it was 'off' usual expectations. The fish and chips consisted of a very large plate of French Fries and three tiny fish nuggets. Also, the waiter said that they didn't have mashed potatoes at lunch instead of the fries, but three items on the menu specified mashed potatoes as the side dish. At least the ice tea refills were free"

"On first appearance this restaurant may not fill you with excitement but once you enter the upstairs the warm greetings received from all of the staff soon puts you at your ease. We were welcomed by the owner, a charming Italian man, who gave useful advice on where we might want to sit so we could enjoy the entertainment to it's best advantage. All of the food we had was cooked to perfection and served by staff who clearly enjoy their job. Then when the Opera singers took to the stage the evening was transformed from enjoyable to memorable and I'd encourage everybody who is in NY on a Saturday evening to get themselves along to this restaurant - the singing was magnificent and all 3 members of our party totally enjoyed the evening!"

"I have enjoyed Papillon for years, but on Super Bowl Sunday it is a different establishment: reluctant service at the bar; loud music so hearing the game was difficult; film crew restricting access to only the 1st level; and it was absolutely FREEZING inside of the restaurant - for the entire 3.5 hours. Neither the staff or management could explain the reason for the coats and scarfs being worn by me and my guests or provide any heat."
