A little history…
Have you ever walked into a place, and you instantly feel at home? Well, Puckett's Grocery and Restaurant is that sort of place. Founded in the 1950s, Puckett's served as a country store to several communities in Williamson County. It has always been the place to buy some food, grab a good homemade sandwich and catch up on the day's events in the world and at home.
In 2004, Puckett's opened in Historic Downtown Franklin, and now in 2010, Downtown Nashville as well.
Southern breakfasts with local, organic eggs, award winning burgers, plate lunches,fresh salads, cherry wood smoked BBQ pulled pork and ribs, and homemade desserts, make every meal memorable.
Add live entertainment from some of Nashville's greatest artists and songwriters and you have the complete Puckett's experience!

"Great place for the single diner. I was welcomed by the friendly staff and sat at the bar where I had the house recommendation of fried chicken. It was all I could have hoped for and more - even though the portions were more than generous. Fabulous band too. Good homely atmosphere, with families and girls on a night out. I would recommend to anyone wanting good food, relaxed atmosphere and a good bar."

The manager and the owner are part of the great experience and help the staff by serving food and cleaning tables. It all demonstrates the fantastic team work of the Puckett's family. "I love Pucketts! Some friends of mine were playing there and I could only get a reservation for one because it sold out so fast! I was nervous about going by myself but the minute I walked in the door they made me feel welcome. Offered me a seat at the bar or a table, whichever I preferred. I sat at the bar and the bar tender was really nice and took great care of me. The music was great and the food too. I hate that I live 45 minutes away or I would go there more often."

"I booked Franklin in error (mine of course) thinking of Liepers Fork instead, which I've been to two times (great place as well). So when I put it into the GPS and ended up in Franklin, I was surprised. When I entered the store, I was very pleased to see the atmosphere, understand the music venue Goat Hill String Band and enjoy the evening. It was fabulous and I'll be back for sure.
We also had a great service experience with Doris (German) who did a fabulous job.
You folks knocked it out of the park!!!"

On our recent visit we were lucky enough to have wonderful server- whose name escapes me but she was from Bavaria, Her warmth and wit was a welcome addition to our dining experience! "Found out about this restaurant from TripAdvisor and then went to Puckett's website to check out the menu and calendar. The reviews did not disappoint. The location is in Historic Downtown Franklin, Tn. Our reservation through Open Table definitely was a good idea as the restaurant was completely filled. However, they had our table ready as soon as we arrived. We really enjoyed the live music competition "Rising Star." It was an added treat to hear 4 up and coming singer/songwriters. The food was good and the ambiance was perfect--exactly as described on their website. The service was very good as well. Check out Puckett's website first, to see if you can make a reservation for one of their live music events. We had a fun!"

"What a fantastic place, informal atmosphere with friendly staff. Great food, we ate there for breakfast and also twice in the evenings. Live music is really good. Free car park directly opposite the restaurant. The shrimp and grits are gorgeous, as is the BBQ platter, the salmon and the breakfast pancakes are also really good."

"We dined at Puckett's in Franklin for my birthday. We chose the Franklin location because we thought it might be more quaint than the downtown Nashville location. We were seated immediately and greeted promptly. The food was excellent(Arrington Vineyard's Red Fox Red, fried pickles and jalapenos, bbq pork platter, redneck burrito, and the cherry cobbler).
The highlight, for me, was our server, Doris. She was accommodating without being overbearing. She was attentive and prompt. She was thoughtful enough to let us enjoy our wine and appetizer before taking our main course order (small considerations like this really make a difference for me). "Puckett's food is traditional southren fare for the most part. It is all good. What makese the place great is the entertainment. For a $10 cover charge you can stay for the weekend show which always features a great Nashville group. We saw the Beaker Street Blues Band. They played for 2 hours without a break and had a wide range of jazz and blues music. They were wonderful and energetic. It is not all country in the Nashville area as this band proves."

"Only because you asked... There was a lot of food on the plate. I couldn't finish it. I don't like not finishing. But after the Fried Green Beans, I had trouble putting the pulled pork down. Cudos for not saucing. Let me decide whether to sauce or not. I chose NOT.
The place wasn't as "local flavor" as we would have liked, however, overall the food was good."

"We happened to hit on an "idol" type show night. Was not aware that was going on and was charged a cover fee (didn't know about that until the bill came) for some really bad music. Music was too loud for conversation. We should have left and come back another night. Food was okay but seemed a little past peak. Service was extremely slow though tables were not turning. I think up-and-coming songwriters night is the wrong night to eat there. Stick to drinks if you're there on that night."

"We enjoyed a great night of food and live music at Puckett's in Franklin. This was our second visit. The quality of the entertainment was excellent. Food highlights included the bacon wrapped green beans and the best mashed sweet potatoes I've had. If you are looking for a true Nashville experience, this is it- good Southern food and great local music (not just country). Parking is free in the garage across the street. Don't forget to make a reservation early for weekend shows, and don't miss this authentic Music City experience when you are in town."
