On the Marsh Bistro resides in a converted barn and farmhouse circa 1800 on 3 acres of plantings alongside a tidal salt marsh. "Brought Mom and Dad for Mothers Day. In their 70's, They can be a little picky, especially at new restaurants. We were extremely pleased with our entire experience and look forward to making it a traditional!"

"My wife and I had dinner at On the Marsh last Sunday night. The food, service & ambiance was top notch. The restaurant was very quiet allowing us to have an unrushed, quiet dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. Patrick was our waiter (and bartender), and his service was outstanding and friendly. Since it was not busy, we had a few enjoyable conversations with him but not to the point where our dinner was interrupted. I had an iceberg wedge for an appetizer and my wife had tomato soup. Both were very good and a great way to start our dining. For main courses, my wife had beef tenderloin and I had a shrimp & lobster combination. Both meals was excellent and nicely presented. Drinks and the overall setting added to a perfect evening."

"This was the 4th time in 4 years we have made the drive to Maine from Massachusetts for a dinner at On The Marsh. The first time we remarked that it may have been the best dining experience we'd ever had. The second time was even better. By the third time, the family was looking forward to it and talking about it every day for the couple of weeks leading up to it, and it lived up to the hype again. By now it has become a family tradition to have our "best meal of the year" at this establishment. The food and flavor is so good that going here is an experience. I would be surprised if none of my 3 teens decide to get married here, such is the institution that On The Marsh has become to our family. Tip of the hat to the chef and staff!"

"The dining experience was pleasant enough. The waitress was cordial without being overbearing and we did not feel at all rushed, which was nice. The food was good, but the portions are a little too small, given the prices. My dining companion especially enjoyed his short ribs, but said there were just too few of them. It was my birthday which we noted when I made the reservation and there was no acknowledgement of it. I can live with that, but I was disappointed that they advertised a piano player and there was none to be found. It was early in the season, so I guess they get a pass for that."

"I had passed On the Marsh for years on my annual visit to friends in Kennebunk and never thought of dining there. The reason: it looked uninteresting - someone's house, a little too close to the road turned into a restaurant. On my latest trip, I looked up restaurant reviews on line for the Kennebunk area and read very good things about On the Marsh. I'm so glad I did. We were celebrating a special event, and the restaurant was beautiful, service attentive, and very good food."

"On the Marsh Bistro was an incredible dining experience. The ambience was soft and romantic. The service was wonderful. The waitstaff was there when you needed them but never hovered or rushed us out. The food was perfectly prepared and very tasty. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone."
