The experienced restaurateurs behind Baltimore’s most celebrated Italian restaurant, the Vitale family of Aldo’s Ristorante Italiano, paired up with Oscar-nominated actor Chazz Palminteri to serve up homemade Italian-American classics like Veal Parmigiana, a famous Signature Veal Meatball, and specialties like hand-formed burrata mozzarella... all served alongside award-winning Bronx-style pizza, baked in a custom coal-fired oven that reaches up to 1,000 degrees. "My wife and I go to Chazz any chance we get. I absolutely LOVE food, so my opinion counts - and trust me, you want to go to Chazz. Very delicious italian food in a new, modern designed restaurant. Can't get any better in Baltimore (way better than anything a few blocks over in Little Italy)."

Made 6:30 reservation through Open Table but not taken until 6:45 even though we fought the rain to get there on time. Host and hostess tried to be accommodating about the delay. Would recommend."

"We had been here previously and really enjoyed the pizza. Tonight, however, the pizza was limp (coal oven pizza crust is to be crunchy and not wilt in the hand); however, my husband did not want to send it back for another because we had waited such a long time for cocktails, appetizers and entrees. In fact, I told hubs that the pizza was probably limp because it had sat so long before the waitress picked it up to deliver it to the table. I told the manager who told us to return it next time. Before we returned the check, he sent over a tiramisu for the table, and four limoncello cocktails. Much nicer than an apology. Don't know whether we'll return."

"The food on the happy hour menu was good. We tried 3 of the 5 items: calamari, fried mozzarella, and the bruchetta. Liked them all! We also tried the margherita pizza, which we enjoyed as well. My father ordered the veal parmigiana. He said it was too tough and tasted like it was microwaved. The wine was good. I enjoyed the skinny margarita. Overall, if you're going for happy hour, it's a cool place to try."

"I ordered a pepperoni pizza and expresso. The pizza was big enough for two and very delicious. I ordered the expresso but did not realize how extremely small the cup would be. So the waitress nicely replaced it with a cup of coffee. I can't wait to visit again!!"

"Very disappointing evening. Pizza is a specialty at Chazz, but it was very ordinary and anything but special. Skimpy toppings! Calamari and roasted red peppers were excellent, however. Service was very slow, waitress was not attentive, and pizza, contrary to claim of baking quickly in a "coal fired oven", took exceptionally long time to be served."

"Great service at the bar, not so great at the table. First, we had to ask for silverware and napkins. We ordered drinks but after 15 minutes had to ask for them again. Then we ordered our dinner and each couple ordered an appetizer(us plus 1 other couple). They served the appetizers about 12-15 minutes apart, which I thought was odd especially since ours was a hot appetizer and the other couple's was a cold appetizer and the hot one came out first. All 4 dinners were served at the same time, which was great. Then my husband ordered another beer and after about 20 minutes, he had to ask for it again. Food was really good though and we'll visit again & hopefully have better service next time."

"Awesome restaurant. Can't wait to go back! Limoncellos are a must have and the pizzas are delicious. Our server, Sydney, was very attentive and probably one of the best servers we've ever had at any restaurant. The only complaint I had was where we were seated. It was just my husband and me and we were surrounded by other diners with children. Usually I don't mind this but there were other available tables."

"Arrived Sunday at 5 when they opened. Shannon was a great server. After we ordered it was like everything stopped. Our apps took a little while but our entrees took FOREVER! When we finally got our entrees, the pizza was barely warm, like it had been waiting for the rest of the food. Pizza was average at best. Requested no truffle oil on the pizza; it had truffle oil on it. Pasta was gummy. Bottom line...not a place I would go back to unless they got their act together...disappinted!"

"The crafted cocktails are great, I highly recommend the Ginger Gin & Tonic, it will surprise gin drinkers and will make for a great first time experience for new gin drinkers. The veal meatball is always great, the sausage and pepper dinner was delicious and so was the broccoli rabe pizza (easy to eat the whole thing becuase it feels so light).
The waitress on our particular night could have been more attentive. No mention of any specials, so I am not sure if they just didnt have any or if they weren't mentioned. In any case, a specials menu would go a long way to deepen the regular dinner menu."

"We dined at Chazz for lunch on Wed and it was not crowded at all. In fact, there was only one server working which made the experience painful and slow. As more people showed up, the service became almost non-existent as the only server became overwhelmed. There was no bus boy to help. We ordered the #2 pizza and the sausage pizza which were both very good. The sausage one was better if you had to choose. If you go you have to order the veal meatball app. It is absolutely delicious!
Although we did not have the best experience, I would dine there again if I happened to be in the area."

"I really wanted to like Chazz. We have eaten there twice, and the results were the same: it was ok - not great, but not bad. Their pasta is hand made which is very good, but the 2 sauces that I tried tasted cheap and were pretty forgettable."

"Overall a pretty good meal at Chazz. Food is usually good but the service is always a little slow even when they are not very busy. Considering how busy this place was when it first opened, it's definitely slowed down significantly. Nothing a keen eye on service couldn't fix. I personally think the kitchen creats the issues for the waitstaff since our waitress said she had asked the kitchen for the status of the entrees several times."

"This is the 2nd time I've been here. The food is amazing, but again the service is not that great. Last time it was too busy and they weren't very attentive. This time the waitress was just weird and a little rude when we wanted to order in a hurry. We wanted to place our food order and she said "Can't I get your drinks first?" Luckily the food is great!"

"Overall, we enjoyed our dinner at Chaz. We started with arugula and tricolore salads, and both were very light and fresh with interesting dressings. For main courses, we selected a chicken parmagiana and a blackened chicken penne. The chicken Parm was very traditional and satisfactory, but the penne was a better choice. It had interesting flavors. For dessert, we ordered the flour-less chocolate cake and the lemon- honey cheesecake - both deliciously good choices. Service was a bit uncoodlrdinated as our main courses were delivered to our table before we had finished our starters. Loud music was playing in the background which drowned out conversation."

"I love Chazz. This was my 4th visit. I've been with just my husband and have been with a group. The mozarella is to die for although I wish they gave more bread toasts with it when I order it with the roasted bell peppers. This time we all had the pizzas. My first time for the pizza and I ordered the Contadina. I expected the egg to be runny but it was overdone, so I couldnt eat it all over the pizza, just on the slices it happened to land. The taste of the food is always fresh and good. I will go back over and over. By the way, they were very accomodating: I asked for the Chazz booth for me and my out of town friends and we got it! This made our dining in this very special booth extra fun for all."

"This is my fifth trip to Chazz. I find the food enjoyable and well done every time I go. I also change what I get every time I go so I have tried lots of things - pizza, veal, meatballs, calamari. I always go out with fellow "tasters" so we can all enjoy everything on the table. One of these days, I'll get a server who actually does service the tables and is attentive. We could never find our server for refills or for lemon...I'll still return for the food and ambiance."

"We enjoyed our experience tremendously. The bolognese was the best I have ever eaten. I have tried to make it myself without success. I would love to get the recipe from you if possible. "Second visit in just over a year. We arrived and there was no one at the valet stand. When walking in to ask if valet was being offered, there was no one at the hostess station. We ordered a Grande (Family size) cheese plate for 4 people at the table. The cheese plate was served with two rather small pieces of crostini. And that is apparently how they serve it...there was nothing missing. The waitress did bring us more. A salad that was listed with 3 ingredients in the menu, was served missing one of them. The pizzas came out not quite as done as any of us would have liked. They were tasty but not superior as you would expect from an upscale pizza rest."

"This was the second time we dined at Chazz's and we will not be going back. I had a party of 8 for my wife's birthday. We had a reservation for 7:30pm, checked in with all present at 7:20pm and was not sat till 8pm. Horrible service...HORRIBLE! A shame cause the food was descent. The manager came over and was no help. Terrible experience that ruined my wife's birthday dinner. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS PLACE. Service was below par the first time as well...but this took the cake. If Open Table gave me more characters, I would tell you all about it."

"They didn't pay any attention to my notes on my OpenTable reservation which stated: NO Banquette seating so naturally that's where they tried to seat us. Fortunately, there were many other empty tables from which to choose. Food was below average."
