"This was my first trip to Sansone's. I'd driven by it many times but from the outside it doesn't appear as anything special so it wasn't until a friend recommended it that I finally stopped in to eat. The menu is varied with options for every palette and the food with exquisitely prepared. We had a party of 3 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Do not let the exterior appearance fool you, this is a top notch restaurant worth visiting."

"I took my wife here for MD and it was quite special. The service was great and the room was very quaint and fairly quiet. The food was especially good. We both had the tornados Oscar and they were perfectly prepared. A very enjoyable place for bruch."

"Love Sansone's, an exceptional restaurant, and the best south suburban neighborhood restaurant, period. Food every bit as wonderful and well executed as at more well known Denver spots that cost an arm and a leg without the scary prices. Warm family atmosphere. Attentive owners and staff make diners feel like welcome friends. We love Sansone's for special occasions and we also appreciate offers, such as the early dining option, that make a truly lovely dinner even more affordable for people like us who appreciate fine food but have a limited budget.. A true gem. Never disappoints."

"Great location in Cherry Hills but I can't imagine that they are tasting the same food we ate and can justify the higher prices for the lower quality meats and ingredients. The Wooden Table (across the street) with similar prices really is superior in all ways to Sansone. We had Pork Osso Buca (that was terribly tough and tasteless) Chicken Parmesan (very average) and Veal Parmesan (Veal was Ok but the pasta underneath was bland). The side salad was basically lettuce on a plate - could they have tried a little harder to justify the prices? The waitress was polite and efficient but very loud (maybe an indoor voice level?). Owner came by to check a few times and we just couldn't bring ourselves to tell him the meal was a disappointment"

"My wife and I love this great find! Chef Robert has the canny expertise in mixing unique flavors and every entrée we have had has been special. They have a superb wine list at a very reasonable per bottle costs. Deserts are out of this world. The service is impeccable. They also have a great Gluten Free menu."

I had never had red rice, but my taste buds are looking forward to the next experience with delight! Great service, even accommodating my need for a gluten-free menu. "This is sort of an odd neighborhood spot...frequented by a much much much older demographic. (We suspect the restuarant struggles with this problem...hard to deter your paying loyal regulars but then that makes it hard to attract new folks who won't be dead soon) Don't let that assessemnt, true as it might be, prevent you from trying this place... if you'd like a quiet meal with nice people and good food this might be just the ticket. This isn't a "hip" location but they do have excellent entrees, diverse menu, fair prices and a very gracious staff."

"We decided to try somewhere new and when we saw the menu, we were sold!! The Salmon Nilla is a MUST try!! We were going somewhere afterwards that was serving dessert, so we weren't able to try their desserts this time. We will definitely be coming back and trying something new. The only recommendation I have is if you are a vegetarian, be sure to tell them because one of their sides has bacon in it (which they don't tell you on the menu).The service was fantastic too. There was always someone refilling your water and the waitress was very friendly. The owner came over and introduced herself. It has the neighborhood feel with the high class food. I strongly recommend it!!"

"Went with 3 friends for 5280 restaurant week. Very good selection of appetizers, entrees and the option to have a salad, soup, dessert or wine as a 3rd choice. Two of us chose the house smoked salmon cake as appetizers and two chose the italian sausage stuffed mushrooms. We all though both were excellent. For dinner, I chose the pork cassoulet as my entree. A wonderful rich dish with vegetables and very tender pork. Our service was spot on, no rush and very pleasant. Chef Robert (owner) came out to see how everything was. I always believe that is the personal touch that can add to a great dining experience."

"Disappointing, the appetizer "Pate" was actually a "Mousse" it was edible, but not what I was expecting. I ordered a lamb dish for my entree and my dinner partner ordered a beef dish, both came out over cooked and dry, though the presentation was very nice, the meal was not good. I sent my lamb back to the kitchen and they quickly put in for a chicken dish in place of it. The owner/chef brought my chicken dish out personally, and proceeded to scold me for returning his lamb dish. My dinner partner wanted to return his beef dish, but after the scolding from the chef, decided not to. However he did not eat his dish as it was just too over cooked. We will not return."

"I've seen great reviews for Sansone's and was eager to try it. We went there during 5280's restaurant week and ordered off the 5280 menu. The food was mediocre at best. If their regular menu is of the same quality as their 5280 menu, then the great reviews they received are not deserved. If their regular menu is better, then Sansone's really did themselves a disservice with the 5280 menu. People like me, who use 5280 as an opportunity to test out a restaurant, won't return. The bright spot was their regular wine list. They had some nice choices and we discovered a great malbec."

"We were here for 2013 Restaurant Week. The food, especially the Foie de Canard (Smooth, rich, and decadent duck liver mousse served with Lingonberry jam, Dijon mustard, chopped egg, red onion and rice crackers) and the Sansone's Chicken (Artichoke Sautéed Chicken and Artichokes in Lemon Sherry Butter) was excellent. The owner/chef Robert Sansone was great."

"The appetizers were pretty good. The main course was the problem. When you order Madagascar beef, you expect bold flavors. There was no seasoning at all and very little flavor. The Chicken in lemon-butter sauce was cooked perfectly and very moist. However, all of the sauce was concentrated in one spot, so the first bite was very strong lemon and the rest was hard to taste because of that.
The Grand Marnier souffle was absolutely fantastic and we would go back just for that."

"What a great find. Thanks to 5280 we tried Sansone's Bistro and can't wait to go back. The menu is complete and the service fine. The fact that the owners, Robert and his wife, work the room and sincerely talk with the patrons is a huge plus because they make you feel wanted. So rare. When they asked how everything was they actually wanted an answer.
Selections consist mostly of what I would call country French.The duck mousse is fantastic. I told my wife I could live off their appetizer menu alone. The wine list was full and priced right although I thought the cocktail proces were on the high side.
A must visit for foodies regardless what part of town they are in. It's easy to find and well worth it."

"We happened to try during Denver Restaurant Week - the food selection was great; food was fantastic and service was awesome (by all staff - from the person answered the phone to chef who came to our table to check on us) too. I'd highly recommend it!"

"I love Sansone's Bistro. It is one of my favorite restaurants. There are not too many restaurants that have such a personal touch. The owner and chef, Robert, always tries to take the time to come out and stop at your table and ask how everything was! Erica, his wife, who runs the front of the restaurant is always very friendly and efficient. The food is always very good and not just the standard fare that you find in most restaurants. I highly recommend this restaurant for people who want to eat in a warm atmosphere and eat very tasty food!"

"We liked the intimate size of this restaurant. The food was outstanding. We really enjoyed the tasty side dishes which included carrots, couscous, and collard greens. The chef is a master at preparing delicious veggies. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys above average meals."

"This was our first time and we ate here for Denver restaurant week since we had been wanting to try it for a couple of years. The service was exceptional and all the staff were very friendly, but I'm sorry to say the food was a big disappointment. There just was nothing special and with so many choices in the area, I doubt we will be back."

"Went for a 5280 dinner and was disappointed. We have been there before. The menu selctions were very disappointing. Our initial reaction on the 5280 selection was that this was a soup menu. The table was waiting for us when we arrived. It was a table for two. However one chair was protruding into the walk path that my spouse kept getting hit by the service staff. We had 1) A FISH STEW, 2)a PORK & BEAN STEW. Both were good but not that great for the money. Our neighbor complained about the dryness of his dish which was some kind of meat. We were served a salad (House & Ceaser) but the waitress did not offer any fresh pepper. We had to flag down a different waiter to get fresh pepper. Our appertiser (Stuffed mushrooms & Salamon) was good."

"Nice small restaurant in a strip mall on University. Great food (had the carpaccio and also the prosciutto stuffed pears for apps and the veal with pears, cranberries for dinner. Very good. Subtle spicing/flavors. This is not a place if you want to be knocked down by overspicing. Excellent waitress and very friendly owner/chef and wife in the front of the house. Recommended."
