Enjoy Chef Geoff's genuine hospitality and casual cuisine with an Italian flair. Lia’s is a neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Chevy Chase. Come for a glass of wine, hand tossed pizzas, fresh pasta, or charcuterie and cheese, and the result will be the same. You'll be back for more. Join us on Sundays for brunch and every Monday for half price wines. Enjoy our ever-popular happy hour daily from 3pm to 7pm and all night on Monday and Tuesday. "Great food (bacon wrapped shrimp app, lamb shank, and short rib). Our server was terrific, knew when to be there and when to leave us alone. Everyone there was incredibly nice, from the host to the bartenders to even the bussers. I will absolutely be back."

"We really enjoyed every aspect of our dinner at Lia's. Perfect ambience and sound level for conversation. We eat out a lot and both agreed that we hadn't enjoyed a meal so much in a long time. Great service, easy and cheap parking in the garage with validation. We will be back soon, no doubt."

"Food plain to poor quality. initial ice tea absolutely no ice- room temperature, finally found waiter brought glass of ice placed on table, upon each lengthy attempted search for waiter for refill, each glass left on table, along with bread basket, and crumbs, the ENTIRE meal. Halfway through the salad , entre was brought by THE BUSBOY, confused why we did not want food at that time. Oh almost forgot, while being seated, rush of air from near miss ,from a whole large table cloth being thrown 8 ft. across floor against pillar as staff cleared a nearby table. de-crumbing linen table cloth unknown. Lia's gall to bring back the entrees' after keeping under heat lamp from prior early entry twenty five minutes ago. more.. out of space"

"Our server Nichole was excellent. She was attentive although not over bearing. As always, the food was wonderful and portions are plentiful. Our party of six had a pleasant meal, and we never felt rushed. As evening approached, the establishment became more crowded, and a little noisy. However, this just adds to the ambiance. There are specials on the menu that start after 4:00pm. They are located on the right side on the bottom of the menu. Their easily missed if you aren’t looking closely. They can make for a reasonably priced 3-course meal if you choose one of them. Can’t wait to go back."

"This was our second visit to Lia's. Again the food was delicious. We decided not to take advantage of their great special (prix fixe menu) and instead have a salad, entrée and dessert. Our waitress was able to answer our questions -- it was clear she was quite familiar with the menu, and we took her up on her helpful advice. The Chicken Monreale was delicious. The combination of cream sauce, capers and artichokes was masterfully prepared.: I will have a hard time venturing to order something different next time we go. We split a delicious dessert.."

"We came to dinner for the Sunset Special - three courses for $21 - a great deal. The focaccia bread they brought out before the meal was terrific and nice and warm. The rest of the meal was good though the Caesar salads were a trifle on the cold side and my salmon was a bit overdone. The desserts we chose - the ricotta donuts - were delicious and very fresh with a luscious limoncello dipping sauce. Our server, Nicole, was very good - professional, attentive, yet friendly. The only quibble being that our appetizers and entrees were brought out too quickly - almost one on top of the other - something that we encounter usually at Chinese restaurants. We like to diner leisurely and it wasn't a very busy time when we went. A nice dinner."

"The special onion soup we both liked very much. Beet and Blood Orange Salad also fine. Service a little scattered at lunch. Had to ask three times for bread. Our main waitress was personable but not always around when needed. We were a little disappointed in the donuts for which we had come especially because I had raved about them with my friend and she wanted to try them. They were not quite cooked in the center but we didn't want to send them back beause of the time so we ate them as is."

"Dining at Lia's was a very enjoyable experience. We were there on a Sunday evening around 8:00 p.m., so the restaurant was fairly quiet, but there was still a bustling atmosphere--it did not feel empty. The food selections were creative, and offered several unusual small plate selections, as well as heartier full dinners. We sampled the burger, minestrone, and Cobb salad, and each was fresh, nicely presented, and very tasty. The service was attentive but not intrusive, and the waiter was very helpful in explaining some of the less familiar dishes. All in all, a very pleasant experience, easy parking (not always the case in downtown Chevy Chase, MD), and enticing enough to say we look forward to returning."

"We went for a very late weekday lunch with my cousin and a friend, and had a great meal, fantastic service (thank you Brittney N) in a quiet and totally relaxed atmosphere. The Chef Geoff restaurants do not get enough credit for consistently providing great service--better than many much more expensive DC spots--along with great casual food at reasonable prices. We love the fact that we can walk to Lia's, and it is our "go to" place for all kinds of occasions."

"Best lasagna I have ever had. Sauce was rich and flavorful. Generous salad with twilight special and the ricotta doughnuts and tiramisu that also came with the $19.95 special were delicious. We went based on open table reviews since DC friends hasn't been before and glad we did."

this dinner including the veal chop and the Branzini were not up to usual standards . these are expensive dihses and definitely could have been better. I suggested the restaurant to a frined who has been to the new location on the Pike. She said that Lia's and other Cef Geoff's were much better than the new one."

"I love Lia's! We come here all the time. The food is always delicious, and the wine list is strong but reasonable. We cleaned our plates AND ate dessert -- it was all just wonderful. One drawback - the restaurant was LOUD on Saturday night. We could hardly hear each other across the table, and struggled to communicate with our waiter."

"The food was delicious and the service was good. Although, I was at Lia's, I felt like I was at Chef Geoff. For example, some of the dishes were the same as Chef Geoff - Downtown and Tysons. I expected good food and consistent service (which I received), but I was hoping for a different restaurant, not Chef Geoff under a different name."

"Lia's has two main dining rooms to the right of the entrance (and serves fare to the left, in the bar area). I had requested a spot in a quiet area one week in advance as one of us is hearing impaired. We were promptly taken to a table in the middle of the first dining area which was full & noisy. Looking beyond the wine bottles to the second dining area, we could see one large occupied table and many empty smaller tables and requested we move there. The greeter gave us a quizzical look but acceded.
Fortunately, after this minor annoyance everything was fantastic. Our server was attentive & on top of things. The food was excellent (fried calamari, lasagna, cobb salad, limoncello donuts). Highly recommended."

"We dined on a Monday evening and were delighted with the 1/2 price bottle of wine special. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant was fairly empty that evening so the noise level was low -- something we appreciated after eating at a rather loud place the night before. The food was excellent all around and butternut squash soup with seared sea scallop was truly exceptional. I highly recommend it. We appreciated the waiter's candor when asking for guidance on food selection -- the result was a dinner that we thoroughly enjoyed. This is a short walk from the Friendship Heights metro (about a block) so very accessible."

"The food was fantastic. There were plenty of vegetarian options despite the fact that they have a bacon bar on site. The service was slow and I had to ask for bread but the waitress was nice and the restaurant was very packed. I ordered the squash risotto and it may have been even better the second day... MmmmOpenable listed a parking option, unfortunately we got confused and parked in the wrong place. We ended up posting $9 for self parking when valet was only $8. Won't make the same mistake twice."

"My wife and I went to Lia's for Valentine's day dinner. The food was good but at times inconsistent. For appetizers my wife had the crab cake sliders which she was not impressed with but I thought they were great and a very good deal considering the price and the size of the appetizer. I had the crispy risotto balls which my wife and I both agreed were kind of bland. We both enjoyed the salads, as they were fresh and flavorful. I had the shaved radicchio & pear salad and my wife had the roasted marinated pepper salad. For entrees my wife had the wild mushroom ravioli and she was very happy with the flavor and size of the entree and I had the branzino balsamico which I found to be decent but for the price I was not blown away."
