"We have enjoyed Chamas on many occasions. This time, we got there right as they opened, so everything was very hot and fresh (even better than usual!)."

"Good place to eat for big meat eater's ( meat of all kinds) we are fairly picky about what meats we eat and the preparation . We were not impressed with the food bar at all. Would not suggest the restaurant to friends nor would we dine there again"

"This was my first visit to a restaurant of this type. I'd heard great things about Chamas, and I wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious: the "salad bar" was actually not a salad bar in the traditional sense; it was loaded with delicacies like large cooked shrimp, wonderful cheeses, black beans and pork, crab ravioli, and more. You could definitely make a meal out of that alone. But then came the meat...a man brings huge skewers with all different kinds: pork tenderloin, chicken wrapped in bacon, ribeye, lamb etc. All perfectly cooked and seasoned! The waitstaff were extremely attentive without being intrusive. Make sure you eat light for at least the whole day of your dinner there...it's a heavy, big meal."

"Its all you can eat meat. What more needs to be said? That being said, I was disappointed that the fillet was medium instead of rare. Evil thing to do to such a good cut of meat. The sirloin and garlic steak were wonderful though and the lamb was perfect. I would have rated the service down a bit for this trip as they seemed to be understaffed and it took a great deal of effort to get water refilled but they really were great when I had problems w/the wine getting me a pinot that was tasty."

"One would be hard-streched to find a better restaurant in Durham. Once we set foot inside the door, we were welcomed by an incredibly friendly and service-oriented staff. The food was nothing short of absolutely brilliant and the service held the same high standard throughout the entire evening. The staff was very attentive, polite and also took time to converse with us, which added to the feeling of genuine friendliness.
Just a simple piece of advice: Make your reservation N-O-W!"

"This was on Valentine's Day, so I expect things may be a bit crazy. From the onset, I had made reservations, but the host was not set-up nor organized. Once we finally got a seat (although we made reservations, we waited like everyone else) we sat at the table for around 15 minutes before ever seeing a waiter/waitress, so I finally flagged one down and let them know that we had been waiting on them. The food was great and the food staff were doing what they were expected to do. Once we finally received our drinks, they had set so long that the ice was melted. Although we asked for a refill on soda, it was never brought. Then to top it off, they included a gratuity totalling $20 for a meal price of over $130 for two people. It was terrible."

"I'm not a meat person, so this review does not pertain to that particular part of the meal, except to say that my companion enjoyed the meat. Chamas offers two options: the 'Gourmet Delight', which includes unlimited visits to its buffet, with fresh and nicely presented options too numerous to list here, but which, although including some cold meats, would definitely satisfy vegetarian or lighter tastes, and the 'Full Rodizio', which adds side dishes of mashed potatoes and fried bananas, as well as unlimited portions of hot meats brought to your table as you wish. Pros: no waiting for the food after seating, great buffet, nice variety of meats and wines, delicious desserts, charming staff, free parking, coat check. Cons: none"

"Good food, great service. Meat cuts were fresh-we were there at opening. For some reason, dessert was not included in restaurant week, not sure if it normally is."

"Very good salad bar with assorted Brazilian items and things like smoked salmon, soups, and assorted cheeses. The noise was a bit much and this is not somewhere that we would eat regularly because the quantities are so large. We tend to prefer adequate portions rather than all you can eat. However, for something a bit different, this is a good restaurant."

"Adorable old men carried skewers of meat around to our table, and the meat was all delicious and cooked to perfection. The food from the salad bar was equally amazing, and it's very easy to get full on the non-meat options alone. I wasn't even able to try everything because there were too many options! I will have to go back to be able to try it all. The dessert was also exquisite (if you have saved room for it). The only problem was that it took forever to get to-go boxes at the end of the meal, as it was hard to get a waiter's attention."

"What incredible food! The meat was copious and flavorful, and when I asked for the filet mignon to be cooked without bacon, they prepared one just for me! They are the nicest people around- when I joked that they were bringing too much food around, one guy smiled and responded "it's my job I am sorry." What an incredible wine list too. Seriously 4 or 5 pages of wines. And the guy who gave me the list said he had tried most of them. He knew so much about all of the wines. This place is top-notch, and definitely a place I will be visiting in the future. It's a little pricey, but the restaurant week special was a snag. 5 stars. 100%. Awesome."
