The Summer Shack is a fun, casual, restaurant. Specializing in New England Style Seafood. We offer 10 to 12 different types of oysters daily. Lobsters in varying sizes and styles including our signature clambake. Wonderful local grilled fish and crispy fried seafood. We do offer several non-seafood items as well. Steaks, burgers and award winning fried chicken. We are a children friendly restaurant and we can accommodate larger groups upon request.
"When my wife and I can't decide where to go, we go to the Summer Shack. The food is consistently very good. The wait staff is always great. Attentive and entertaining."

"Really delicious and very fresh seafood! I had grilled swordfish and my husband had the tuna. Not nuts about the roasted potatoes which were very dry. Very nice waitstaff. corn bread was amazing. Key Lime cheesecake yummy too!"

"Being used to the Summer Shack in Hingham we were turned off by the poor atmosphere in Dedham. The food was equally good. So, no complaints there. There seemed to be a lot of young children. Obviosuly it is very popular with families. Probably won't go as often as we used to go to Hingham."

"Surprisingly quiet for a Thursday night. Went specifically for Jasper's pan roasted lobster and was not disappointed- it is amazingly good. The sauce totally makes the dish."

"I liked my broiled scallops dinner. The wine was excellent. My husband from the moment we walked in didn't like the place. There was tape on the seat to cover a rip. The appletini he ordered was not good, he said. He liked the corn bread, but not the rolls. They were to hard for his liking, he likes soft ones. He liked the steak tips but not the fries. I would like to go back but it would have to be without him."

"The seafood was very fresh and expertly prepared. With multiple cocktails and a decidedly carefree approach to ordering the bill came to $350 for two of us -- not inexpensive. About $70 each for a 2 lb. lobster -- their menu blamed the prices on a harsh winter affecting the catch."

"We had dined at a Summer Shack in Boston last year and LOVED it. It was nice to have one closer. We weren't disappointed. Wouldn't hesitate to return. Sounds a little strange but I go for the fried chicken. Best I've ever had. Going to have to steer myself away from it the next time so I can try something different. Great place, great food."

"We were seated promptly. Our waiter came over quickly and was very friendly. The service was a little slow. Our appetizers (clam chowder for my husband and oysters on the half shell for me) took about 20 minutes. The rest of the food took an additional twenty minutes so the kitchen was slow. Our waiter kept checking on us. The food was really good. My husband got a 2lb. baked stuffed lobster ($58), a little pricey but it was delicious. Unfortunately, it only came with a small corn on the cob. At that price another vegetable or side dish would have been good. I got the steelhead trout ($20) and that came with brown rice and field greens. It was excellent and a great value."

"Been here several times, the service exceeded the food this time. Fried chicken at this fish place is well worth trying. Service was friendly, attentive. My fish platter was nice, with fried clams, shrimp and fried flounder. We enjoyed the bisque and spicy seafood chowder. My husband's fish was ok, nothing special, but he remarked that the fried chicken plate for just $14 is worth repeating."

"The fried chicken was perfectly done and was very good value for money. The potato salad continues to be an excellent complement to the chicken. The potatoes were properly cooked and the dressing was flavorful without too much mayonaise."

"This was our second trip to Summer Shack. We find the food very consistent. It's simple with just the right touch of surprise (mango chutney with my scallops). Portions are right-sized. Our party of 4 left feeling full but not overstuffed. Will likely return. I'd call it a place to get a good meal, it's not a 'night out' kind of place."

"It was a cold night in January, but the restaurant was warm. The food is very unspectacular. The best item we had were the fried clams appetizer. The portions are moderate. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He provided us good service."
