Blue Cat Cafe & Wine Bar
Welcome to Blue Cat Cafe & Wine Bar. We are located in the center of downtown Burlington in a little alley called Lawson Lane. In our cozy corner of the town we serve all Certified Angus Beef (CAB) steaks and a variety of fresh seafood and vegetarian options. We use local produce whenever possible and feature a rotating selection of Vermont cheeses. Our wine list contains three-hundred labels from all over the world with an emphasis on big, bold, steak-friendly wines. The proprietors, Mariasha and Ozzy Giral are always on site to help you find the perfect wine for any occasion. We hope to see you soon.
...and please keep in mind that we are available for private events of all sorts 7 days a week; we'll do the catering or bring in your favorite caterer.

"A lovely spot if you are craving locally harvested red meat, and a thoughtful wine list. Each red meat selection was cooked to perfection. The menu sides are simple, and delicious. The roasted asparagus was unforgettable."

"I booked the Blue Cat Cafe for a group of 6 in order to celebrate my daughter's graduation from St. Michael's College. It was perfect for our occasion and the food was creative and well prepared. My newly graduated daughter raved about her steak topped with foie gras. I was impressed with the ambiance as all the tables were lit by candle and the setting was very intimate."

"Our first time here visiting UVM. Service was slow slow slow. Very disappointed. With all the great reviews we were looking forward to a great meal. Instead we got nonchalant wait staff who didn't care about taking our drink or food orders and then took forever to serve us drinks and food. Then the food was mediocre.
We will not be returning."

"We had the worst service we have ever had in a restaurant. Seating 30 minutes after reservation, tables not even being cleared in a timely manner, kitchen was unresponsive to inquiries on food and the food was closed. This restaturant should be closed or take off Open Table. Our reservation was on 3/30 and the waitress was very nice but should seek new employment."

"I ordered the fois gras steak, and my husband ordered the special grass fed shoulder. We both very much enjoyed our steaks and were done to our specs. I was disappointed that my steak featured no vegetables (included tasty mashed potatoes - but to me, that's a starch), so I did ordered the roasted beet salad - which was very good. My husband's entree included a variety of nice veggies. We each ordered glass of different reds and both were quite good. We shared a flourless gooey chocolate cake - perhaps true chocoholics would enjoy. It was probably just too heavy for a post steak meal for me.
Overall, the experience was enjoyable, our servers excellent and helpful, the steaks quite yummy."

"Had great cheese plate and a good Malbec to start the evening. Our server, Ria, is always terrific whenever we eat at the 'Cat. Steak was tender and delicious, and vegetables were fresh and tasty. Had an awesome Double Whiskey Sour, but here's the catch, they charged me 32 bucks for it. Yeah, you read that right, they charged me 32 bucks for a double whiskey sour with Whistle Pig whiskey. Now, I don't mind paying for an expensive drink, but that's the most expensive drink I've ever had in my life. Not to mention that every time I order a drink at the Blue Cat it's either a weak pour, very expensive or both.
If it wasn't for the price gouging going on behind the bar on a constant basis. I'd give this place 5 stars."
