A casual neighborhood eatery, Radish, is fit for any time of the day whether you are looking for a comfortable, bright breakfast nook, a midday lunch, or an evening gathering place. Radish is located in the heart of the Mission district surrounded by eclectic shops and beautiful parks
"Three of us had an early Saturday dinner. I had watched the place start with breakfast, then brunch/lunch and more recently dinner. So we tried it out. A real success. The menu features hamburgers and po'boys. The hamburgers were fine, cooked to order. One of us had a gumbo special--good roux and a nice mix of shrimp, okra and sausage. Two modestly priced wines and a wheat beer. Then we shared two deserts, a cherry tart and a dense chocolate cake. All very nice. Great service from a knowledgeable waitress. Even with a generous tip, we were out less than $40. a person. Lots of 20-somethings seem to know this. Noise level is pretty high. We got lucky with parking so our mood was positive."

"This unassuming, understated, esthetical corner restaurant has none of the pretentiousness or preciousness of the Valencia corridor, yet consistently serves perfectly prepared po' boy sandwiched, gourmet burgers, lightly dressed salads with vibrantly fresh ingredients. The wait staff are women in my experience, and refreshingly down-to-earth. This is a true neighborhood gem."

"Dined on Friday evening with a group of 8 ladies for a bachelorette party. Admittedly, bachelorette attendees can be a tough crowd to handle, but the server (Katie) was awesome. Really helpful and fun. The food was perfect as a starter for a night of bar-hopping, comfort food that didn't feel too greasy or heavy. The fried items were done with a cornmeal batter, I think, which gave it a great crunch. My favorite item of the night came out of left-field - I'm usually not a fan of restaurant mac n' cheese, but the side order at Radish was soooo good. Had to tack on those extra o's there to emphasize. They also have a great happy hour. I'm already dreaming of an after work glass of wine and some cheesy goodness on the side."

"We had a reservation for 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. At first I thought this would be silly but turns out it was necessary. This place is tiny. They have maybe 8 tables and a bar seating another 8 people. We ordered Farmer's Dinner (roast chicken) which was good albeit a little too salty, and one of their burgers, also tasty. They have a good beer selection, wine - not so much. They had three desserts listed on the blackboard. We ordered one to share but 20 minutes later we were told it "wasn't happening" so we had to go with another one. In the meantime, a large family was seated next to us, reducing the number of other tables to 4 and the atmosphere to a fast food place. There are so many choices in the Mission, I don't think I'll return."

"A nice restaurant in the mission, good specials. Ambiance could be a little better, maybe service a tiny bit slow. Menu items like mac n cheese were small but good."

"We were in the mood for Cajun, and the Cats and Puppies dish caught my attention. The food was excellent. The best po' boy this side of the Big Easy. The wine was excellent, the service was great, the food was surprisingly amazing. We were expecting a casual so-so dining experience, so the quality of the offerings of both wine and food were a treat. Not to mention, the prices were more than fair."

"Salads were great, two of the four meals were delicious but the vegan pot pie was so salty it was almost inedible and the gumbo' s great taste was spoiled by taste of overly spiced (I have no problem with hot dishes in general)."

"Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We were there for brunch had bottomless mimosas (only $12 a person if you are getting food). There is a new burger on the list that is really good (homemade ranch, jalapenos, etc). It is difficult to get a reservations during prime brunch hours but if you are willing to get there early or after the main crowd it is really easy."

"the place was empty when we arrived and only one other table occupied when we left - it's a dicey neighborhood (homeless sleeping on the sidewalks) but the restaurant is charming, very accomodating and the food was good, not great. wait staff very nice & pleasant. if you live in the mission it is a real find."

"Nice little neighborhood spot. The service was very friendly and efficient. I had the oyster po boy, my daighter had the shrimp po boy and a friend had a specially made hamburger due to dietary restrictions. All were good, very tasty and a fair price. We went on a late Saturday afternoon and the brunch crowd was still there. There were a couple of very loud and annoying women (drinking too much???) so I might go a little later next time for the early dinner/very late lunch crowd. Overall good experience and the service was superb!"

"Good gluten-free options, included Bard beer. Good menu. Only two servers -- was very busy that Friday night -- needed another. Pretty good service, nevertheless. Good prices, I will return."
