"Dinner at the Clinton House is always good. They have a good solid menu which they complement with the Chef's specials. Food is cooked as you order it so your medium rare steak is in fact medium rare - something quite a few places still get wrong. The wait staff are all helpful and happy - attentive without taking a seat at the table with you. It never disappoints me - great place for a night out."

"The Clinton House is guaranteed to always produce good food. They have a good staple menu which is mixed up by an equally good Chef's Specials menu. The steaks are always good - great quality meat, cooked as you ordered. The deserts are all made on the premises and are wonderful. All the serving staff tonight were happy, friendly and efficient. It always tells on the place when the staff are happy to be there."

"We started off with the baked brie and fruit- a unique appetizer out, indeed. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and worth coming back for. The salmon and salad were good. My mom ordered the Shrimp Scampi- that was the only thing none of us cared for. It was served in a cream-based sauce. In my opinion, serving a cream-based sauce and calling it a Scampi is very misleading and quite frankly, erroneous. It was not what we were expecting nor was it what we wanted when we ordered the dish. The server was very nice and attentive but knew little about the food. She could not tell us what was in the sauce. The atmosphere was beautiful."

"We truly enjoyed our Mother's Day dinner at the Clinton House. A charming old Inn overlooking the river in Historic Clinton, the decor is country & rustic & in keeping with the overall feeling of the building. They were very kid/family friendly ( we had my 5 grandchildren with us ages 6 & under). The kids menu has delicious homemade chicken fingers & fries ( not the frozen variety) the adults were stealing bites the kids meals. I had the lobster tails which were delicious, also the shrimp bisque was outstanding. The service was a little slow but it was a holiday after all & it was fine (the place was packed). The staff was very friendly, we will definitely be going back."

"I had been at this restaurant a month ago and was very disappointed this time, even though I ordered the exact same items on the menu. When I mentioned something to the waitress, she explained that the chef had left the restaurant and there is a new chef. It was obvious in the food. The potatoes were nothing like the ones I had last month, and were very disappointing. The green beans taste frozen. The crab cakes were made from fresh lump crab meat and had very little filler, so in that respect, they were excellent. But they lacked flavor. Our waitress was excellent, and we were welcomed warmly. The waitress who was setting up for dinner was rude to us, reaching across our table, without saying "excuse me" or acknowledging us as there."

"Where do I begin? The food was spectacular. I had the Beef Wellington, superb presentation, and the taste, out of this world! My husband had the Chicken Mozzarella, which had a type of francaise sauce, he was very impressed, saying how delicious his meal was. Very romantic also, with a view of the fireplace. We had the best time, The Clinton House really knows how to take care of you. Can't wait till the next time!"

"Clinton House is always a fine dining experience. Warm, fresh bread opens the meal. Very tasty soups and complex salads, and you never have to ask for more of their delicious bleu cheese dressing on your salad. Had a king cut prime rib that was out of this world, prepared just as I requested. My wife had a pan-seared scallops dish that she really enjoyed. The portions are more than ample, and you never leave hungry. No scrimping on the spirits or desserts, either. The service is more than attentive, and despite the crowd, we never waited for a course . . . but never felt rushed, either. Overall, a very fine dining experience."

"We were greeted before we sat down but the management did not come around and disappeared when we left the resturant. This was our 2nd experience and the last time we were greeted as we left. We had alot of fun anyway and maybe they thought we were too loud. We stayed until closing in the dining area so I was not sure if they wanted to turn over tables."

"The food was excellent, and I am a NYC foodie! Lunch was "just" fresh, well-prepared, and did not try too hard to be "nouveau". We went there on a snowy day and the fireplace was filled with a lovely fire. The ambiance was fine. The attached bakery allowed me to take some home-made goodies home to my family. "We have been here several times and if you want a good steak in Hunterdon County, this is the place. The prime rib is huge! My husband and I love the crabmeat cocktail. It's the best and fresh. It's a little pricey, but definitely worth the splurge."

"Always look foward to the Clinton house we rave about it to everyone.how ever to be fair to myself the customer the past few times I'm sorry I went.
the food is outstanding but the service once seated is bad.The time between being seated and ordering and receiving you dinner and checking out is so long you wish you didn't come. You also are a great steak house buy some steak knives please
