"Food and service
Our waiter was a non-event. Said hello but did not engage us in conversation until the very end of our meal when we mentioned we were 'locals'.
We specifically asked for our steak and lamp chops to be served without butter - needless to say, they were both swimming in it.
The only person who went out of their way to say anything was the hostess when we were seated and when we left."

"We have always loved dining at Ruth's Chris steak house. In fact any time we feel we just NEED a really good piece of beef we head there. Unfortunately we took 4 guests for dinner there and had a very disagreeable evening. The steaks came out cooked completely wrong for everyone. It is easy to cook a steak more if it is to rare but it's unforgivable to have to wait 20 minutes after sending back a steak that was not rare enough. Everyone was almost finished with their complete dinner when two of the steaks finally came out STILL cooked to well done! Our guests had already eaten all of their veggies and couldn't even eat the steaks when they finally were delivered to the table. It was embarrassing and unforgivable."

"First, the Good Points: The food, service, ambiance, and view are great. Parking is validated. If you get a window seat, you have an unobstructed view of the island of Lanai, the ocean, AND a famous Maui sunset if you time your dinner properly. The restaurant is quiet, which is what I expect when sitting down to an expensive dinner. In short, this is what you expect from a Ruth's Chris Steak House, and the Lahaina location delivers.
However, an odd thing happened when I cut into my filet mignon. I found two skewers embedded lengthwise in the meat, which immediately raised my suspicions that perhaps my filet was not genuine. The waiter & manager apologized, and I was presented with a new filet and comped a side and dessert. Hmmm!"

"Our dinner was excellent! The filet was delicious, and my Mahi was wonderful. The Maitai my husband ordered was probably the poorest excuse for a tropical drink he has ever had in our 38 years of visiting hawaii! My filet was good but not up to what I would expect from Ruth Chris. I order private reserve filet from Omaha Steaks which are far better than the steak I recieved."

"Requested a table with a view of the sunset - wonderful. Food was great - according to my husband and nephew - one of the best steaks they've ever had. I ordered the lamb - pretty good. Salads were huge - onion soup was good. Dessert - cheesecake was enough for all three of us and we took some to our condo for the next day."

"We celebrated my birthday dinner here and although I'm not a fan of steak, I must say, there were a lot of options for me to choose from... We ordered the Seared Ahi and stuffed mushrooms as our starters and they were awesome! My boyfriend had the Cowboy Steak and he said it was the BEST steak he's ever had! I got the Mahi Mahi w/ a side of Shrimp; the fish was cooked perfectly and not dry at all. The shrimp on the other hand, maybe a little over-done. The sides unfortunately was not something we would brag about... We ordered "Ruth's Choice" of Lyonaise Potatoes; it was plain and honestly I've had better. It almost reminded me of breakfast potatoes! Not something I would ever think of having at a place like this."

"The evening was just lovely from beginning to end. The menu offers so many lovely delights it is difficult to decide and those things we chose were delicious and nicely presented. The cocktail menu offered many new and different selections as well as some of the old favorites. The wine by the glass were extensive and diverse in price. Andrew was one of the best waiters I have ever experienced - very efficient and pleasant with not one thing being out of place the whole evening."

"First time at Ruth's Chris steak House and the steak and meal were excellent.
We saw that they had a fixed 3 course menu available and that was what attracted us to go there to try it out. This menu was not offered to us when we were seated and before ordering we had to enquire about it and were then brought a separate menu.
Kinda made you feel like a cheapskate just for asking for it. If restaurant is advertising specials than it should be presented and not left to the customer to enquire.
Otherwise it was a great meal and great service"

"Best time to eat is near sunset since the view is scrumptious. Service was good but slightly slow. Very expensive but the food was hot and tasty. Bernaise sauce served cold and 15 minutes before the steaks arrived. Oysters Rockefeller were overcooked. Dinner for two with tip was $200.00 with two glasses of wine and a draft beer, no dessert and sharing a side order of potatoes."
