Mirabell is an oasis of proud authentic German tradition, with three beautiful dining rooms from which to choose. Chef Werner's Mirabell Restaurant & Lounge serves German- American and Vegetarian Cuisine. Each entree is prepared fresh and is personally approved by Chef Werner Heil before being served. People come from all over for our Wiener Schnitzel, which our customers say is the best they ever tasted. Other favorites include the Kalbsteak Mirabell, Goulash, Sauerbraten, Kassler Ribs, Original Zuricher Kalbsgeschnetzeltes, Beef Tongue, Ox Tails and Beef Rouladen and an assortment of veal dishes. In addition to traditional German food, we prepares fresh fish, a variety of chicken dishes, steaks and daily specials for lunch and dinner.
"The menus for beer and food was enticing and we took our time to make our selections. There were so many options, that repeat visits are planned. The dinner menu included many wursts,as well as pork selections (some of which were unique in my experience), various schnitzles and other traditional dishes, Portions are very generous and soup selections are homemade. The service was friendly, attentive and had a "you're a guest in my house" feel."

"Nice German restaurant and bar. A little tight for Mom's wheelchair, but we made it in. Schnitzel is the best I ever had! Spaetzle is very good too. Was amazed at the shrimp my niece ordered. Probably our favorite of the table. Two of us went home with quarts of the spicy goulash. Mmmmmm spicy good! Easy relaxing atmosphere. Not noisy, so we could hear each other talk. And comfortable service. Very efficient without being overbearing. Also loved the apple strudel ... but the black forest cherry cake was our favorite! Okay, and then there was their beers..... You have to try this place!"

"We were looking for a German restaurant and found Mirabell. It was so good. The schnitzel and sauerbraten were delicious. Took home a few slices of apple/cherry streudel to enjoy at home and that we did. A wonderful German restaurant in a Chicago neighborhood with great service and food."

"The location is right across from a KMart and the interior is not updated but the food and service was great and that was what we came for. Beer list was good - heavy on the European/German beers as expected. The food was traditional and delicious."

"The bar crowd here is very friendly & fun. Food is wonderful. We don't live in Chicago, but Mirabell is always first on our list when we plan a trip to the Windy City!"

"I had high expectations from the start. I have heard about this place many times so I had to take my daughter for her birthday. It was very good German food however the atmosphere was lifeless. Very quite. If you like silence and German food you are in the right place. Maybe because it was a Thursday evening on a winters cold Chicago night. The only entertainment we had was the couple a few tables away that had a small argument. The red cabbage had a bit too much cloves. Overall, good for German food not great on the ambiance."
