"I had to wait 30 minutes before getting the table I reserved which I was not happy about. Food was presented nicely but the waitress was pushy, taking away things quickly and rushing us. I like the idea of the food sharing/tapas and may try it again."

"I can't say that we are Spanish food fanatics, and perhaps that was part of the problem we had with the paella. The food was rather bland and slow to arrive. Even the water and beer was slow, so I don't blame the cook. The room was too dark to read the menu, so I relied on information from the waitress, who seemed slightly annoyed at being asked silly new-customer questions. Communication was difficult over the din of the sound system, which is clearly a point of pride for the restaurant since, despite the relatively small size of the restaurant included a DJ orchestrating the musical ambiance. Sorry, but I can't find much to recommend about Red Room. They even seemed unaware of our reservations... I just wish I'd made them elsewhere."

"I read several other reviews about people leavung the restaurant hungry, and my wife and I don't see how. We ordered a total of 4 tapas and were unable to finish all of it. The food was great and the service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and knowledgable about the food."

"Valentines at The Red Room is a different experience than 'other' days. I was looking forward to some tapas, but they had a special fixed menu for the event. Nevertheless, the food was very good, and the service (from our interestingly tatooed waitress) was outstanding."

"Overall our dining experience at Red Room was good. We sat at a small round table and had just enough room for the food. The chairs were a little uncomfortable too. Overall, the staff was good and mixed drinks were very generous. We will probably go back again."

"They took care of us in a special way. This was unusual in that I was taking my 8 year old daughter out with my wife and I on Valentine's Day. Since it was unlikely in the extreme that an 8 year old would eat the special V-day dinner the manager and waitress basically offered to make up some chicken and mashed potatoes for my daughter gratis. They seated us so that my daughter could see all that was going on and yet we were out of the way of the romantic pairs. The matred handled our seating very well. The seasonal Sangria with Cinnamon is excellent--very smooth!"

"This was just what we were looking for. We wanted to meet another couple there and just share some tapas. I read some reviews and was initially concerned by the negative ones. However, our experience was completely different. When we arrived, the other couple was not there, but we were seated at the table. We ordered various tapas, and enjoyed them all. The drink menu had a great selection of beer, wine, sangria, and cocktails, so there was something for everyone. Loved the vegetable napolean and the shrimp ceviche with the beet and plantain chips. I didn't care for the citrus scallops. They were too sweet, not my type of thing. The server was extremely accommodating and helpful when needed even when the restaurant was busy."

"The food at the red Room is fantastic and a great value. We love the Tapas menu. The prices are reasonable and the portions large enough that two tapas quench my appetite ( I am 6'2" tall and weigh 210 lbs.) The servers are friendly and the manager, Joseph, always stops by to say hello. the Red Room is one of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh."

"We had a very nice dinner there and a few glasses of pretty excellent wine. I was very happy with the meal, the ambiance, and the service from our waitress - Taylor - was nothing short of exceptional. She was cheerful, friendly, and full of good advice. Even when the restaurant filled up with a large party and things became extremely busy, she still made sure to stop by our table regularly and didn't once make it seem like it was anything other than her pleasure to exchange a few words or tell us about one of their wines.

Complaints? Not many. My churrasco probably could have been a better cut of beef but it was still very good, and the paella was excellent. All in all, we were very happy with our experience and will be back again."

"My husband & I dined at the "Red Room" in Raleigh during one of the restaurant's weekly Wednesday "Date Night". We had never had tapas before so the date-night 4-course meal was perfect for us. The food was delicious - we were impressed. The chef paired a different glass of wine with each course. We especially loved the duck & risotto with grilled asparagus, that they had paired with a divine glass of Yelca Castana Monastrell red wine. The service, atmosphere, food and wine made for a perfectly lovely evening. We plan on visiting Red Room again."

"Excellent tapas; even better on Sunday nights @ 50% discount. Favorites include eggplant roulade, shrimp ceviche, goat cheese salad, flatbreads. Nice selection of Spanish wines and beers, plus great mojitos and special martinis. Outstanding service from a friendly and helpful waitstaff. Next time will try their house specialty, paella, which -- along with pitchers of Sangria -- seemed to be popular with other diners."

"We booked our reservation for a party of 6. We were seated on time and the waitress was extremely helpful in helping our group with the tapas menu and the selections. The food was fantastic. After the meal we were able to enjoy our drinks and watch the patrons on the dance floor. Good music selection and the waitress separated our bill into three couples and added the tip. We all felt the customer service was A+ and added an additional tip!

Definately we will be back!"
