Maison Carlos
Maison Carlos is a continental restaurant with an emphasis on French and Italian cuisine. Carlos and Lanie Farias opened Maison Carlos in December of 2002. After seven years on Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach, the couple made the decision to move their establishment a couple miles south to the El Cid neighborhood. They wanted a smaller restaurant with more of a neighborhood vibe. The new space has only eleven tables and is open for dinner only. Carlos is there every night, seating people, taking orders and is very hands on. Being open only for dinner Carlos spends his days shopping for the restaurant, selecting only the freshest ingredients.

"This is the third year in a row that we've decided to vacation on Singer Island. We are always on the look-out for great restaurants. My husband is a huge fan of Italian cuisine and it's been challenging to find great Italian food in the Palm Beach area. As a result of reading numerous reviews, we decided the we would try Maison Carlos. We're so glad that we did - the food at the little restaurant is amazing. I enjoyed the Pasta Bolognese while my husband and son had the Linguine alle Vongole. We can't decide which was the better dish - they were both outstanding. Prices are very fair. Be sure to treat yourself to a wonderful meal the next time you're in the area. You won't be disappointed!"

I have been three times and never have been disappointed.I love the fresh fish always a different chocie, veal is the best I have ever had, clams casino is a great choice as is the vongole.The other evening Carlos the owner went off the menu and made a bananas foster . Typical of the gracious service he provides. You can't go wrong at Maison Carlos"

"PB Vacation. The decor is sparse and the window view of the street is downright industrial and unappealing. The owner is warm and was He welcomed other regulars by name and there was a lot of repeat business there, so we thought our meal would be great.
They serve fried zucchini chips and these had a slightly burnt taste. Our bottle of wine was outstanding. The escargot was served in a delightful vessel with about two cups of lemon garlic broth. My husband used three rolls trying to sop up as much as he could of the liquid. The caesar salad was fresh - possibly add fresh grated Romano tableside could help. Husband's overpriced pasta dish was all pasta & some sausage. Fish was good but too much was done to it. Spinach was great."

"Maison Carlos is a true neighborhood gem. Each time I am there I have a delicious dinner with great service. The staff is very genuine in their desire to make sure you enjoy your evening. The only hard part is deciding what dish to choose from, which is why I always order a few things and take the rest home!"

"TERRIBLE!!!! We were 6 for dinner with a reserv. at 7:00. The waiter described the specials,trout, grouper and snapper. We ordered 3 trout, 2 groupers and a veal dish. The waiter came back and said there was a problem. He only had 1 trout and 1 grouper! REALLY at 7:00 and those were the SPECIALS. So we had to settle for snapper or mahi mahi.Not what we wanted..but what could we do!The grouper dish was described to come with potato and green beans. When it was served it had polenta and asparagus. Since the waiter never came back to check on us, we asked the owner to correct the mistake. Also, the portions were VERY small. We are not BIG portion eaters, but these portions were ridiculous. The food quality was poor."

"On our first visit to West Palm in 2007, we ate at Maison Carlos on Clematis and loved it. When we moved here in 2009, it was gone. Just rediscovered it on S. Dixie. Hurray!"

"This is a true gem in the Palm Beach/West Palm area. The neighborhood is not upscale, but don’t let that put you off. The service is excellent, accomodating and attentive. Food is fresh, delicious, with a broad menu to please anyone. I want to keep it a secret so its not spoiled."
