"The wine list and interior was impressive. The food was off target. The pasta dishes were drenched in sauce, so you could barely appreciate the freshly made pasta. If you order one, you may want to request that they go light on the sauce. With some small adjustments this place could be outstanding. Service was friendly and attentive."

"We eat at N. Tomato quite frequently, and have always enjoyed it. However, our latest experience was not the best. We spoke to the manager about the sun glare in the small dining room and he said they were working on it. It shouldn't take too much time or money to install blinds in that room. Other diners complained as well.
Our service was so-so. All went well until our dinner orders were taken. Then things came to a halt, and we had a VERY long wait for our food. I don't blame the waiter, as he assured us he was checking on it, but maybe the kitchen can't keep up on a busy night:? Anyway, we were disappointed with this latest experience."

"Thanks to opentable, we received a wonderful muffin and tea breakfast box when we left. Our server, Zach, was friendly and attentive. Gave us great advice on the crab cake (best since Gablers in MD - no longer open) and of course the lasagna (our favorite) was incredible. He also gave us the scoop on the wine tasting (will try that next time). It was a wonderful experience."

"Appreciate being seated promptly at our reservation time. We are snowbirds, and often have to wait for a table at home, despite reservations. Portions at the Early Bird are perfect - not tempted to eat more than we should! Price is very reasonable, and wine selection is excellent. "The food was fantastic as usual, though the location of our table couldn't have been worse. We were sat right in between all of the enomatic wine machines and there were people constantly passing through and bumping into us, it made it really hard to concentrate on my conversation with my friend who I only see once a year. I assume they put tables in because of season, but they'd be better off served to keep that area a lounge."

"I've eaten here several times before. This time the service was lacking and the noise levels were very high. Most disappointing was the value of the product I received. For $27 I got a dish of pasta with some sauce, three mussels, three shrimp and three clams. Nothing else came with the meal. I ordered a caesar salad for $9. To me the price, quality and quantity was not there. I will think twice before going to Naples Tomato again."

"Our first visit. Heard great reviews from others. We sat at the bar before our table was ready which was enjoyable. When they sat us we were put in the "overflow" area which happens to be where the wine tasting is done so it was always crowded and noisy as people were trying to figure out what wine they would like to try. "Naples Tomato is the finest restaurant in town for exceptional dining, great happy hour drinks and food. I travel from North Estero at least three times a month just for happy hour. Lunch is also fabulous price wise if you belong to their Vine club.

"We love your restauant, the food is always prepaired perfect. Your wait staff does an excellent job. On our last visit, Andira was our waitress and did an excellent job. We are always bring people with us that have never been to Naples Tomato and they are very surprised at the quality of food and beverages. The decor is also a huge surprise as the outside doesn't really give anyone a guess of what inside. It is a perfect restaurant. We love Naples Tomato and continue to let people know it's one of our favorite places to dine. We love the early dining menu and the reservaions on line. Our friends were also so surprised that we were given muffins and tea for the next morning. It makes one feel really special."

"Our waitress was a bit too casual and would place her hands backward on the chair and flex her double jointed elbows backwards while trying to remember the specials. It was unappetizing. We had to ask for bread to go with the olive oil and the $15 mozzerella appetizer, she never asked how the entrees were, and after I finished my first glass of wine during the app, the empty glass sat on the table without her noticing enough to ask if I'd care for another... which I would have. We had to flag her down for more water and to get the check.... however we were dining at 2 p.m. not at rush. Although we had reservations and they were only about 30% full, we were crammed into a corner with loud ppl. Not exactly an ideal valentines expereince."

"My husband and I are not picky eaters at all, but neither of us liked our pasta dishes. Mine was shrimp and pasta and his was monk fish and risotto. My pasta was "gooey" with a boring red sauce with a few average-size shrimp which were not very tender. Husband did not enjoy the monk fish but said the risotto was the best part. Both were $30 and up entrees and certainly overpriced!!"

"The atmosphere is very nice, especially suitable for actual conversation...a rarity for most dining experiences. There was a "miscue" in regard to what was ordered and what was delivered. Frankly the issue was not resolved and might have been handled differently by the server. Customer satisfaction is really what it is all about. Some things are not worth contesting, however. I would definitely recommend NT as a good place to meet friends for lunch."

"We went to Naples Tomato on Valentines night. It was very busy but this did not seem to inpact the service levels. We tried the Mozzarella bar which was a first for us. We can highly recommend it. The cheese was great and the vegetable sides with it were just right. My husband tried 'the bomb' which is a ravioli stuffed with truffles. He said it was very rich and the taste was great the downside was that at $35 it was quite pricey. I had the capri which is shrimp in a tomato based sauce. This was great but also a little on the pricey side. Having said this we would recommend the restaurant and expect to return."

"We were so looking forward to returning to NT after coming back to FL from NJ because it was so fantastic last year. The food not only was awful, but my son's Chicken Parm was burnt and they tried to hide it in a sea of sauce. Certainly the saying that once owners go for franchising the quality suffers. "I was disappointed with this restaurant. Very high prices for small portions with a very average flavor. I had ravaoli with meat sauce, $19.00. I would happily pay this if the flavor was good, and if the portion size was decent. The rest of the table agreed, their meals were average or below average tasting. It was super loud, and I came out of there with a slightly sore throat from having to talk so loudly across the table. Overall, we were disappointed and will not return."

While the restaurant isn't ultra kid-friendly, the waitstaff were accomodating of my 3-year-old's needs. "The butternut squash raviolinni with duck confit was to die for with it's fresh sage leaves and amoretto cookie's. The black tie truffle melange raviolinni was so fragrant and tasty all by it's self although it came with a big helping of rich bolognese. Our table was right by the fire place (how romantic is that) and in view of the water fountain. The server was quite slow but since we were in no hurry, no need to fuss."

"We were a party of four that stopped in late night . We thought the staff was courteous but for the portion size the food was totally overpriced. We were very tired and didn't notice that 1 crabcake was $15.00. We stayed the week in Naples and have a condo there so we are in the area often. During our stay we ate out at many places and your bill was the highest for the least amount of food. My ceasar salad was so small it was rediculous.
Needless to say .... we will not be a repeat customer."

The price was right, and we appreciated the fact that soup or salad was included. "What a WONDERFUL dining experience we had the pleasure of experiencing this past Monday, January 18th, 2010! Having encountered a bit of traffic that delayed our anticipated arrival for 4:45, I phoned The Naples Tomato to explain the reason for our 10 minute delay, and was met with a most understanding voice on the phone who most graciously accomodated our request to "hold our table." Upon our arrival we had the delight of having "Vince" as our server! He is outstanding in his ability to make the clients of TNT feel "at home!" Throughout our entire two and one half hours in this fine restaurant, Vince attended to our every request and his every endeavor was to make our dining experience SUPERB! He certainly succeeded! We can'twaittoreturn!"

"AWESOME! We love Naples Tomato! It is by far our favorite restaurant in Ft. Myers/Naples vacinity! We have 2 young kids, so we don't get there as often as we'd like, but we are also members of the Vine, so we try to make it down there as much as possible! Last 2 times we brought the 2 kids w/ us, and we have noticed that they are becoming quite family friendly. They took care to put is in a table that was out of the way, and at the end of our meal our waitress even brought the kids a dish of ice cream! It was a very pleasant surprise and a great experience overall! We recommend this place to everyone when we get a chance!"

"Yes, it is the best lasagna in Southwest Florida. I am Italian, and it is better than mine. But, Naples Tomato has many other great entrees and it never disappoints. Try the Tilapia if you like fish, and the butternut ravioli is a real treat. Oh, and don't pass on the spumoni, it is the best I have even tried. The staff is a real plus, always attentive, and always welcoming. This is a great destination as well as a great neighborhood dining spot. You will come back again and again."

"I am a frequent customer, especially lunch. Almost always great. Enjoyed the lasagna and the contribution Naples Tomato is making to the Haiti relief effort. I miss the 2 for 1's as I am always on a budget. The best tomato basil soup anywhere. Love the tampenade, fish dishes and specials. Again great food and ambiance, at times the service suffers. "We arrived for an early Sunday dinner (5:45 PM). We were very pleased at the atmosphere and ambiance in the restaurant. The hostess was very cordial, and accomodated our preference in seating. We ordered house wine (happy hour 1/2 price). I had the appetizer Bruchettta and my wife had a simple salad. They were both prepared beautifully and and tasted great. For our course, I had the Chicken and Eggplant Parmesean. I thought the chicken was a bit dry but the rest of the dish was very tasty. My wife ordered the Lasagnia, and she loved it! We were very satisfied with the overall quality and quantity of food. We topped it off with Coffee (that's all we had room for!). The waiter, Christian, was very attentive throughout. We'll be back!"

"Our waitress (forgotten her name) was so knowledgeable and helpful.. My friends had NEVER been there before and from my "raving" about the food we finally all got to go.. Mentioning "twitter" got us one free dessert for five of us and we picked the crispy creme bread pudding.. Nice.. I wanted to order an additional one but the others were "full".. I ate all my lasagne (first time ordering) and I loved it. The bread, oil, and the round table made for a great luncheon.. We will definitely keep coming back as long as we get those great coupons.. Things are tight with money for some of my friends and they loved the two for one coupon.. Will be back soon.. For SURE.. Thanks for the opportunity to let me tell you our wonderful experience. "It was our first visit and we loved it. The food was great!! We loved the Mozzarella Bar; it was quite unique. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. We were so full after dinner and were not going to order a dessert and she presented one to us to share compliments of the chef because we made our reservation on line. It was an unexpected treat. Also the muffins to bring home were another surprise. Thanks for a great evening. We will be back even though it is a long drive from Marco."

"The food and service exceed the prices, especially when you consider that the 4:30-6:30 time slot offers very affordable gourmet dining. I would recommend the late evenings there for a special occasion, and the early dinners for a casual Thursday or Friday night when you don't want to spend 'special occasion" money. As to the menu, the lasagna is complex and flavorful, living up to its reputation as one of the best anywhere. The Spaghetti Western is a deceptively simple presentation of prime rib perfectly balanced with a subtle marinara-sauced linguini - another can't-miss choice."

"Our resevation was ready when we arrived. The service was excellent and we were made aware of all of the special offers, including the "happy hour" that would be over in 30 minutes!
We had a wonderful dinner and were never rushed nor pressured to eat faster or leave the table. The food was outstanding! I cannot say more about the lasagna. WONDERFUL! Fresh! Delicious!! Thankfully we ordered too much so I was able to take some home to enjoy this evening!"

"After three years in Naples, we considered Naples Tomato our favorite "go to" place for a guaranteed good dinner. So, it was with great dismay that we experienced a truly awful dinner the other night. Usually NT allows half orders on pasta;however, we were informed that the Nadine's Favorite a butternut squash, sage and duck dish I love, could only be a full order as the duck was "pre-prepared". Boy, was it ever! When it arrived, the palid color was so unappetizing that my date asked, "Are you really going to eat that?" I removed an entire breadplate full of fatty covering from the duck. Sure, duck is a fatty dish but this amount was absurd! I asked the waiter to show the pile of lard to the chef but we never heard back from anyone.Inedible"

"As always are service was exceptional...thanks to Andrea! She is always so considerate and if foo is delayed she pops by the table to tell us it will be up shortly.So many fine retaurants in Naples and around the U.X do not touch base with there tables and it's so important and vital to an enjoyable dinner& evening even of the food isn't super Andrea always extends her vibrant personality and car for her clients that we are not forgoten once our orders are taken. "We were two couples and service was spotty. It took a long time just to place a drink order after we were seated. One couple ordered a salad to split, which never came. Our server indicated that the kitchen was backed up and it would be a while before our food is ready, but it then came right away. Food was good but not exceptional. The ravioli was room temperature, and the bolognese sauce was a regular meat sauce. The lasagna was good, and the gnocci w/meatballs was very good. I think the fundamentals are there, so I will try it again and hope that they have their act together."

"A repeat visit to take advantage of the $20.10 menu on new Year's Day. My wife had the talapia, which she enjoyed very much and I tried the Lasagna. "We went for new year's eve and took our family while vacationing in Naples. I asked when I made the reservation to please make the night special for us. They did, by making us wait 30 minutes, even though we had a reservation. Then our service was poor, tables around us were getting much better service. We had to ask for bread, for drink refills, for everything. And the waiter, Vince, was in no hurry. He did give his phone number to the girl at the next table, however..."

"Although Naples Tomato was doing a great business, and every table was taken, our reservation was honored immediately. Our waitress, in addition to taking care of the two of us, had a table of 10, and another table of four to attend to. "The House wine (Chardonnay) was delightful. The crusty bread and tapenade very good. Great caesar salad. I ordered the Lasagna and was a little disappointed. Lots of hearty sauce but would have liked more creamier cheese. Could not finish the portion. My husband ordered the Meat & Potato pasta dish which he liked very much. Nice and cheesy and satisfying. Had a nice conversation with a couple who sat at a table next to us. Because we made a reservation on line, we received a dessert (our choice) for free, and in addition to that we were given a small bakery box with 2 muffins and 2 herbal tea bags for breakfast the next morning. Wow. That was a nice touch. We would definitely go back again."
