"My dinner was excellent and the filet cooked perfectly; however, my husband asked that his strip steak be cooked medium-rare. It was cooked to medium. By the time the server checked on us and our dinners, my husband had eaten half his steak anyway because he was hungry - the flavor was good, just not cooked to order. Next time, we'll send the steak back if not cooked as requested. However, his potatoes au gratin were outstanding!!"

"We enjoyed this place while we were there. It's nothing that we would make a special trip for. The service was a little slow but very friendly. The portion sizes was plentiful for the money. It's a great place to take friends that are not foodies like my husband and I. It is what it is. If we spend another weekend at Ameristar we are more likely to eat there again over the buffet. We are sit down, fancy dining sort of foodies."

"This experience was nothing special. The food was OK, but nothing memorable. I did enjoy the creamed spinach. It actually was exceptional. I had the Beef Short ribs and the portion was great, but the meat was not as tender as it should have been. Also, my friend ordered the Chicken Pesto Rigatoni and it did not look that wonderful and he said it was alright."

"Our lobsters were done perfectly, and so were the baby back ribs. The staff was terrific, and they were very helpful with my husband's gluten intolerance by making sure that his choices were indeed, gluten free. I am planning on bringing relatives to this restaurant next time they are visiting. Meanwhile, we will certainly treat ourselves to more wonderful meals at Timberline Grill."

"Although is was NOT a quiet steakhouse, we were very happy with our meal. We had a fantastic server, Heather, who was happy to recommend different items & complimented us we choose certain things. And truly, her recommendations were SPOT ON. Crab cakes? Some of the BEST we have ever had. The Demi-Chicken Breast w Goat Cheese? Unbelievably amazing. Loved every bite. And my husband enjoyed the Potato Au Gratin. However, the noise level was quite loud & the desserts seemed to be lacking for such a great menu. We passed. The bread service was delicious & the young man who served it, Thomas, was awesome. He was polite & welcoming, and attentive, which was great because our server was very busy & he was immediate to help us while we were waiting."

"The food was not very good, the chicken was very dry on the caesar salad. There was very little dressing on the salad as well.
We have eaten here since it opened about 6-8 times a year when we go up to gamble. This was the worst food we've had there."

"Really great food - oyster app was fresh and cold. Lamb entree was outstanding, as was my wife's sea bass. Great attentive service.
We were seated in a table near the gas fireplace, which is also near the kitchen - which made our table part of a corridor used by all the other servers for all the other tables in the place, very distracting - if they try to sit you there refuse and ask for something away from the kitchen.
Drink pour (scotch) is really stingy but not particularly overpriced. Next time I will be ordering doubles, which is not my favorite thing to do, they should just jack the price a bit, and give you a decent glass of scotch.
Overall - very good - second time there."

"Not the best place in Black Hawk but the food is pretty good. The lamb was done well but the salad was under dressed. The service was what you would expert at a diner not at a restaurant that charges what this place does."

"we have been to this restaurant a couple of time ordered difrent itams for a stake house the stakes were ok had way to much salt on it and my bake potato had salt all over it also had a great wine selction and are waiter was very nolgible and verey good the lobster mac cheses is still my favrite"

"Nice steakhouse - good food. We went up for an early valentine's day celebration at the Ameristar casino/spa/hotel. We dined later around 8 pm. They sat us on time per our reservation. We began our meal with oysters and lobster bisque - both which were very good. For our entrees, we had prime rib - portions were large and the steak was cooked to specifications. Decent wine list and a menu that accomodates most - I would however recommend ordering steak.
The downside of the restaurant is that the "liveliness" of the casino crowds can filter over to the restaurant crowd so if you are looking for a quiet, romantic evening, you'll be hit or miss depending on who else is dining in the restaurant that evening."
