"I was on a trip by myself without my kids and was looking for a place with great food and service. The owner heard me talking to the hostess and immediately gave me a seat at their kitchen counter that allows you to watch the food being prepared and serviced. I loved chatting with the chef and watching my food being prepared. The food was fantastic from the bread to the dinner, to the dessert. The servers were equally nice. I can truly say that the overall experience was perfect."

"Our party of 4 had a 7:00 pm reservation on a Saturday night. Upon check in they didn't have our reservation. We were seated promptly after I showed the host my Open Table reservation confirmation but speaking later with the friend who'd recommended the restaurant she told me this had happened to her twice. I'm health conscious and found the food to be too rich for my taste-lots of cream sauces and tempura-battered items. There really was nothing on the menu I was comfortable eating so I ended up scraping the sauce off my chicken and not eating the fried accompaniments. At this price point I'd like to be able to enjoy all of my meal. Service was leisurely though attentive. Would not return primarly due to composition of dishes."

"we had a wonderful dinner there this past Saturday evening.. however, something went wrong in the kitchen and we had a long wait between our apps and our meal. But, we were with good friends that we hadn't seen in a while and it was wonderful to have a very leisurely dinner. We had a 7:00 reservation and didn't leave there until a bit after 10:00pm. Our dinners were awesome. Our waiter, Walter was great. All the staff was great."

"The place is a little small but cozy & very pretty inside with ambiance lighting & greenery. Some tables are a litle close. The atmosphere is very pretty & inviting. Service was good they were on top of things & did not wait for anything. The food came out promptly. The appetizers are delicious but pricey for what you get. We ordered the scallops & bacon & the lamb shank thinking we could split each app amongst 4 of us well there were only 2 large scallops & 1 lamb shank so we each got 1/2 a scallop & 2 bite pieces of lamb. At $15 an appetizer I was disappointed with that. The filet mignon dinner & the lamb dinner was delicious. For a neighborhood restaurant the price is high comparable to Boston so it's good for a special occasion."

"Good food and large portions which is good as the me u is definitely on the pricey side. I had a ribeye steak with peppercorns for $30. Meat was cooked perfectly but the green topping (asparagus?) was oversteamed and recognizable. No matter the huge piece of meat was excellently prepared. Service was excellent - we never had to wait. Lighting and background noise was good but restaurant could use some live soft entertainment. I'd recommend to friends, with the caveat that there is no music."

He suggested another which was wonderful but ended up being almost twice as much as the two we were contemplating. I think he should have mentioned the price difference and also made a recommendation regarding the price range we had inquired about. "This was our first experience at Unums in Nashua and I would go back for a second try. My only critic is I found the food got cold rather quickly. I've never experienced that before, maybe it was a fluke, but we will try a second time to see if it happens again.

"I discovered the restaurant several years prior and must say the food was fabulous. The menu has not really changed but the passion may have shifted a bit with the chef. Dinner for 2 was $125 not including the tip. My husband picked the duck dish, the duck was good and the cherry sauce was even better but the mashed potatoe with bacon did not sit well with our palette. It hard too much bacon bits and bacon fat. My scallop appetizer was not only burnt but over cooked. My main entree was fabulous, the braised beef was tender, fell off the bone and the simple mashed potatoes were perfect!"

"Although Valentine's Day was a busy occasion, the staff at Unum's seemed to have the service under control and timely. That's why I don't understand why it was the busboy and not the server that inquired as to how we enjoyed our dinner. Once dinner was served we didn't see the server until he dropped off the check. On the positive side, the busboys are very well trained in customer service! We were there in the later part of the evening and the offerings on the pre fixe menu must have been running out because our appetizers were half the size of those being served when we first arrived. For the $85 price tag...I would not return for a pre fixe dinner. The food quality was good but over priced for the area."

"We attended Unums for a birthday celebration and had an exceptional time. The food was delicious. There was a nice variety of dishes and a great wine list. The waitstaff went out of their way to ensure every detail was taken care of. After dinner two of us enjoyed a drink at the bar which is a great spot to sit and chat. "What a fantastic place for romantic dinners, hanging out with friends, and important business meetings.
The ambiance at the restaurant is very nice and the bar layout is fantastic. I had a business dinner there and was very happy with the vibe. It was quite enough to have a good conversation, but not so quite that you feel like you can't laugh out loud.
The staff is quite impressive. They did a fantastic job of serving us, being attentive, but also not interrupting and knowing when to give us time and space. Lisa was our waitress and she are spot-on!
Finally, the food. I can't say enough about the food. Wow. It is simply off the charts good. Perfect portions and the flavors and sauces are out of this world good."

"This was our first visit to Unum's and we can't wait to go back. Everything was terrific. Steve, the owner, made a point of coming to our table and welcoming us, then checked back during dinner to make sure everything was to our liking. Our waitress was great and very accomondating without hovering. Food was wonderful. All in all a five star experience. It's a little pricey so you might want to save it for a special occassion but it's well worth it."

"Unums is an expensive restaurant for the average budget (dinner for 2 could easily cost up to $300). However, I can assure you that it is worth every dime you are going to spend. The food is mind blowing. It lives up to all of the taste hype that surrounds it. The staff is very friendly and will do exactly as you ask. Everyone including the chefs area to the management to the host to the servers sport big smiles at all times. I would recommend for any date night or special occasion."

"My wife and I have dined at this restaurant on several occasions. Overall both the food and server were very good again. However, althoug we had an 8:30 reservation, we had to wait over twenty minutes for our table. We were then seated in the lower portion of the restaurant which was absolutely freezing. It appears there is no heat or a poor heating system in the lower part of the restaurant. It was so cold that our food which was very good had to be eaten quickly to avoid it from becoming cold (which it did anyway). All in all this last experience was not a very enjoyable one."

"We went there to celebrate our anniversary. They gave us a really nice table and went out of their way to make us feel special. The food was great, highly recommend the SeaBass. Nice atmosphere, and great bar. It does get crowded and noisy though."

"Went with some friends and had a wonderful meal. Service was excellent and they have a great wine and drink selection to chose from. The owner was visible and stopped by each table to see how things were. Overall it is a wonderful dining experience. Due to limited seating, reservations are really needed on a weekend."

"The food is unique and very good. Service was average, but the restaurant is welldecorated.
However, diners were intially seated closest to the music speaker. As we were the first to arrive, we were right next to it. Although they responded to our request to turn it down, it "spontaneously" got loud again. This was made worse by playing a Musak (?sp) station, ruining the ambiance and enjoyment of the experience.
I would go again, but will maneuver the table accordingly"
