"We went for a pre-show dinner and since they open at 5 p.m. for dinner and we had to be out of there by 6:15, we advised our server, who made sure that we were on schedule, but not hurried, which I appreciated. We started off with the best Caesar salad I have had in ages! They informed me that they used fresh anchovies. I ordered a fillet mignon medium rare, and it was perfectly cooked and so tender! It was served with sweet potato wedges (my choice from the menu), and a medley of vegetables which were cooked just right - not too soft and not too hard. My friend had the salmon, which was nicely presented and tasty. I finished off my dinner with a cappuccino, which was presented showing the layers with the foamy top! I will go again soon!"

"We have gone twice for our Anniversary, last year we sat inside at a tall table and were able to watch our food be prepared. Very nice! This year the weather was really nice and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the great food and drinks! I had the trout - which was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Leave the kids at home!"

"This is the 4th time for dinner and once for lunch for my wife and I. We were never disappointed. The food, service and friendliness, were excellent every time. Each dish we chose was excellent whether it was steak, pasta, or seafood."

"I took my date to your restuarant because she only eats seafood. I had been to King Crab once before with my parents and thought the food/experience was excellent. My date was very impressed with both the food and service and so was I. I wo9uld highly recommend your restaurant to anyone. It is a nice change from some of the other nice restaurants in town! I will definitely be back!"

"Two of us had the shrimp/pasta special. One- shrimp was cooked perfectly, while the other shrimp were overdone. Sauce and vegetables in the pasta were excellent although we never had any peppers as mentioned on the menu. Dinner included only 5 shrimp so the $25 cost seemed rather expensive. Would suggest a bit more seafood or a lower cost."

"King Crab used to be one of our favourite restaurants. The food never disappointed...until the last 2 occasions. The penultimate time, the order was incorrect for both diners. The last time, the soup appetizer was bland. The mussels were mush. The fish chowder had no fish taste, the potatoes were crunchy as were the carrots (both noticeably undercooked). Perhaps there were peeled hours ahead of time and put into water to keep them "fresh". Any cook knows that veggies done like that will never get cooked. The sweet potato wedges in the entree were mush -- way over done. Can't fault the service."

"Was my first time experiencing this place, and was a little cautious after hearing some mixed reviews, mostly on portion sizes. Personally I dismissed them as I found no issues. Sure, its a little pricey, but this isn't Red Lobster. Loved the food, lobster was cooked to perfection, and the goat cheese salad was fantastic (as well as the calamari appetizer). The dessert menu was simply to die for, if for nothing else this establishment has the best key lime pie that I have ever tasted. Its obviously a place that you wouldn't go on a regular basis (at least on my budget), wonderful place for a special occasion or treat. The owner spoke to us briefly and was very proud of his place, especially said pie."

"I know from their advertising that the guests can watch the chefs cooking at King Crab and as a result one's view must be unobstructed. The downfall to that is that you can hear all conversations at the tables around you. It got to be very loud as all tables were occupied. We were able to make out what other guests were talking about. We found the meals overpriced, as we have had similar meals at other local restaurants that were 25% less expensive. I fell off my chair when the final bill came."

"This was our first dining experience at King Crab...and we enjoyed it! Fresh baked bread just out of the oven is always a plus-plus for me. My hubby had the chowder for an appetizer and found "0" clams in it! But...it was reported as very tasty anyway - rich base. Loved the sezchuan dusting on the calamari - and serving size was enough for 2 people! Nice surprise. I had red thai curry catfish and tasted "0" curry! Maybe it was me? Still delish tho. My glass of chardonnay was Mission Hill and a good pairing with the meal. Our server was attentive and cheerful. Nice ambience.....the place was almost full when we left! Reservations recommended on a Saturday nite. All in all - a great experience. We would go again."

"We were there for a birthday dinner and were not disappointed. The food was interesting - thoughtfully prepared. Service was friendly, prompt & courteous. Portions and prices were appropriate. The calamari was a little over-cooked, making it chewy, but flavour was good & we enjoyed the dipping sauce. Our mains were enjoyable. We shared a chocolate mousse that seasoned with chi spices. Very interesting & yummy. We will return!"

"Actually, I have been here many times and this was probably my least favourite meal. I ordered a catfish lunch entrée. It came with 2 pieces of fish. It was clearly identified as crispy, therefore I knew I was getting fried. However, I wished I had chosen a grilled fish instead. One of the pieces of fish definitely had something wrong with it and I didn't eat anything further after one bite. I didn't notify waitress because I had brought a guest who had never been to restaurant before, and it was my recommendation. The rice accompaniment was dry. The rest of the meal was very good - bok choy and a sauce. Flavours were very good I will probably come again because have always had very good meals here."

"I don’t normally write reviews for a restaurant I visit but in this case an exception had to be made. I was most impressed with the level of service. Don't get me wrong, the food was great. But what stood out to me was the level of professionalism the staff demonstrated. Our server made us feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment we sat down and the manager went the extra mile for me to make it a memorable evening for my date and I. Would recommend it to anyone. "First time at King Crab was Valentine's Day 2013. Loved the Ahi Katsu appetizer and the pistachio crusted Salmon entree was yummy! My husband had the New England seafood chowder, which he thought was excellent; however, he found his Blackened Marlin entree a bit dry/bland. To be fair, he opted NOT to have the roasted creole corn puree which came with the marlin as he thought it would be too spicy for him and this could have been a factor. He also found the 'green oil' made the corn bread too heavy/oily. I tried the creole corn puree and it was not spicy at all, in fact, I am not sure it would have added much flavour to the marlin."

"One of the few places you can make a reservation for on Valentine's day, King Crab Oyster Bar & Grill was a cute and cozy find. The atmosphere was a little too dim and old-fashioned for me, but it was a nice Valentine's date nonetheless. I ordered the king crab platter but was somewhat disappointed to only find one crab leg on my plate. I understand the whole crab is really huge and cannot be finished by one person, but for the price of $49, I expected more. In any case, thecrab was nicely done and served with garlic butter on the side. The risotto underneath the crab leg was super rich and delicious. Overall satisfied with my date night."

"Our first time dining there. The food was phenomenal. The oyster sampler was delicious. I had the striped bass and my husband had the trout. I couldn't believe I finished my entire dish. Perfect size and proportion although I didn't leave room for dessert. We'll be back for that another day! ;) It wasn't too busy although a reservation is recommended. Cozy and relaxing atmosphere."
