"Music was extremely loud and not suitable for fine dining. We assumed Sterling's was meant for fine dining. Food was just okay, however the veal at $42.00 was excellent. It should be for $42.00. Salmon is a delicate meat and should not have been overcooked, as it was. The rib eye was not the best quality, and that was a surprise. We went to Sterling's for the Seafood/Steakhouse opportunities, and thought the meat should be a better quality cut.
The service was OUTSTANDING! We cannot say enough about Ramon and Kyle. If I recall, that was their names. Both were attentive to detail and exceeded all expectations.
I am sorry to say, we were disappointed in the food quality, and please, turn down the music volume."

"The service, food, ambience were fantastic! Prices were very reasonable for a top of the line steakhouse! You get what you pay for! The 16 oz Prime RIb looked more like 22 oz and was delicious! If you have room for desert, make sure to look at the desert cart! They have opitons galore! Try the 3 Layer Chocloate Cake! It was so HUGE! Being from a state that's known for their beef, the steaks here blow my mind! I've eaten at steakhouses all over the country when I travel. This place tops them all!"

"We try to eat here at least once every time we go to Reno. The ambiance, food and service are all outstanding every time. I've reviewed them before, and there's not much to add. We both had the prime rib, which was medium rare, exactly as ordered. It was so tender I swear I could have cut it with a butter knife. The presentation of all food was pleasing, and the temperature and flavor was excellent. Service was outstanding. We had made our reservation for 8:30 pm, but had a misadventure on the way to Reno and I had to call and request a later time. We were accommodated with no problem. We were still at our table at the scheduled closing time and did not at any time feel rushed to finish and leave. Excellent!"

"I have taken friends and family to Sterling's many times in the past and have never been disappointed. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. The staff are attentive and gracious. My wife is a cherries jubilee fan, and they always go out of their way to make a show of it. We can't wait to return."

"I had read good reviews about Sterling Restaurant and was looking forward to our dinner. I had read that the escargot were great and we both like it and we ordered one each. There were 12 escargots in a sauce - not in a shell. They were very rubbery and tough and did not have much taste. The sauce was really bad - very little taste and no garlic. It was not very hot. We sent it back. The management came to apologize and was very polite. They agreed that the sauce did not come up to their usual standards and told us that the chef was new and added too much wine. He gave us tiger shrimp appetizers instead on the house. They were okay - nothing special."

"We invited two couples from out of the area to our favorite restaurant, either the cook was busy that he wasn't watching the salmon dish as it was over cooked. Our guest had ordered this seafood dish before and knew what it use to taste like. It was brought to the attention of our waiter and he offered to buy our guest a cocktail? The appetizer strawberry/pepper filet which is my favorite dish use to be a bit bigger close to @3 ounces was now @1 ounce and the crisp potato was bigger so the entire presentation was smaller. My first time at Sterling's I ordered it I took a photo and compared the presentation. Wow, a big difference. So sad. The other 4 dishes were wonderful and delicious."

"This was a wonderful birthday celebration. The table was decorated and a birthday card on the table. The staff was wonderful and quite attentive. We enjoyed the best clam chowder along with Pacific Salmon and Filet and Tiger Prawns. The General Manager stopped by our table and talked to us. He was very nice and bought us dessert of our choice. A very nice celebration.

"I was really looking forward to the meal...However I found the food and service lackluster.....3 of us ordered the salad, one ordered the soup....We waited 10 minutes with our salad in front of us for the soup to arrive....When asked for more bread and butter, the roving manager or? said curtly, "It's right in front of you"....Service was extremely stiff and uncomfortable.....
The menu offers a $30.00 burger with a $10.00 add on for fois gras.....I requested the $10.00 fois gras offered, for my steak.....the request had to be debated between the chef, wait staff and manager...finally they said yes...but for $20.00...not $10.00....not a pleasant evening for any cost....will not return nor recommend.... disappointment for sure"

"Have been here several times. It was our favorite until this last visit. It is very expensive so I expect the BEST food. Filet Mignon was cut in half lengthwise and over done. Not a good flavor. Lobster was very fishy and rubbery on the bottom. Due to the price, we will probably not go back. Sad."

"Overall, a good experience. I was seated in the back and close to Kitchen. There was much noise coming from service staff who were having an a war of words. It made the experience unpleasant and there seemed to be no regard for diners who were subjected to their bantor. This clearly should not have taken place in view or earshot of diners."

"We go to Reno about once a quarter and we always eat at Sterling's. The food is excellent and the service is superb. The Maitre'd, Phil, is outstanding and gives very personal service. Every waiter we've had has been very attentive and provided wonderful service. The Valentiine's Day special dinner was delicious! The booths and lighting make the atmosphere intimate."

"Sterlings is a very nice restaurant ambience-wise. We were there for Valentine's Day, and had their special, which was a Beef Wellington, with the added touch of being stuffed with lobster. Included was an Ahi tuna appetizer, and choice of either soup or a special salad with cherry vinagrette dressing. The appetizer, while flavorful, was just a TINY mouthful, served in an ice-cream cone-like crust, about an inch high and perhaps a half inch in diameter. The salad did not have enough dressing on it, although what there was, was very good also. The Beef Wellington, a superb piece of filet, was nicely done in the filo dough crust. The lobster, however, was almost non-existent. Fourth time there, and it seems to just miss each time."

"We have been to Sterling's on 3 occasions. The first time was a drop-in while we were visiting Reno. We are now Reno residents and have been to Sterling's two more times, both for special occasions. The food is outstanding; some of the best that I have ever had in Reno. High quality, fresh ingredients with fantastic flavor and artistic presentation. The wait staff is extremely attentive and on each visit, the manager came over to personally check that everything was okay. They gave a personal touch for the special occasions, decorating the table and leaving a nice note.
One other plus -- Sterling's offers an excellent vegetarian entrée, which is quite rare to find in Reno."

"We had read the reviews before dining here which were all sensational but then looked at the prices and were a bit discouraged. It was by far worth every penny!! All four of our group said it was within the top 3 of our favorite restaurants of all time and we eat out a lot! Best steak I have ever had, bananas foster cheesecake to die for! My husband was licking the plate clean! Service impeccable! Ask for Jessie as your server, he is the BEST!!"
