Jackson's Food and Drink
Jackson's Food + Drink is the evolution of Jackson's Village Bistro, our beloved, Zagat-rated Hermosa Beach dinner spot where we enjoyed for over 10 years. The new location on the El Segundo/Manhattan Beach border shares a plaza with the Arclight movie theater and features abundant seating including indoor + heated outdoor dining areas. Other changes include a bigger + bolder menu and expanded hours including lunch, happy hour, dinner and late-night dining, easy parking, a full bar, boutique wines and craft beer all served in our signature, unpretentious "low-key gourmet" style.

"New Eatery Find - By word of mouth, I was told of a new place to dine had opened up and check it out. I decided to go on line a receive a seat for lumch. I was was surpised at the decor, casual and relaxing atmophere of the restaurant. The food, drink and sevice was excellent. I will truly recommend to others and return with my family. The menu selections were excellent."

"We decided to try Jackson's before our Arclight movie. We sat at our table at least 10 minutes before any approached our table. Once our server did come over, he was pretty attentive through drinks did take quite awhile. We ordered quite a few dishes and everything was ok...nothing too good. We had 3 of the desserts, all of which were terrible. If you're looking for a bite before your movie, this place will do and the drinks were great. Skip dessert though and don't expect too much."

"Jackson's has excellent menu -something for everyone. The wine selection and pricing is good. Highly recommend this restaurant. It is a little off the beaten path next to PF Chang's ArchLight Theater. It is a perfect place to go for a drink appetizers or dinner before a movie. It is great for date night, small group, business dinner or special occasion in a casual atmosphere. If you are visiting from out of town as a tourist or on business and staying near LAX or in the Beach cities this restaurant is well worth trying. We are repeat customers and love the menu selection! The patio dining is nice and if you are looking for a place to have dessert or a night cap after a movie sitting by their outdoor fireplace is just the right ambience"

"Jacksons was amazing! The staff was more than delightful and very knowledgeable about the menu. I didn't even have to ask for second glass of champagne. We started with the oysters and hummus. The chef knows how oysters should be served, paired beautifully with a shallot mignonette, divine. The hummus was fresh, creamy and super garlicky. Some of the best hummus we've ever had. I ordered the watermelon and feta salad with arugula, the complexity of flavors made this salad disappear rather quickly. For the main courses we ordered the filet mignon risotto and seared pork belly with polenta. Wow, the cherry reduction sauce was spectacular. Go now and get a table, it's really THAT good."

"Went for my birthday lunch. Service was just OK. Waiter was not very attentive. Cauliflower appetizer had to much lemon and garlic. Fish tacos had no taste and the fish was over cooked. Short rib sandwich was just OK. Ordered banana's dessert and the fruit was floating under the melted ice cream and the hot fudge was hard. The prices are high and it does not match the quality of the food. Would not go back. Tin Roof has much better food!!"

"We had lunch at Jackson's the other day, not too crowded even though it was Friday. Immediate impression was very good: nice decor and atmosphere, a transformed patio dining area (from the former Taiko restaurant) that was warm, cozy, inviting and very cool, menu and specialty cocktails looked yummy and interesting. The problem? Service. Sorry Jackson's, if you go all the trouble, expense and creativity with your restaurant and menu, nothing matters if the waiters, servers and bartenders are lame and/or improperly trained/educated to your ingredients and how to serve properly, and in the right order. Like cocktails 1st. Keep trying Jackson's! You can do it."

"This is a place that is just 'good' for now but could be really great. It has the ingredients for a great dining experience. The ambiance and decor are lovely - new American contemporary/craftsy. The service was 'okay' - rather wooden and lacking in personality. The menu is well conceived - a variety of options that should please the casual diner and foodie alike. Quality wasn't quite up to the level I expected on the jidori chx & mint ice cream. It would really be a worthwhile investment to have real chefs in the kitchen as against short order cooks following instructions. Jackson's is 'on its way' as a culinary hot spot - just not quite there yet."

"Restaurant was not that busy in the outside dining area but service was just below expectations. Recommendation of Panini was made but I found it dry and lacking flavor. Sounded better on the menu than it did upon actual tasting. Requested mustard for the Panini which took a while to get there. Loved the condiments for the fries.

"The environment and service were inviting. The margarita pizza was flavorful and perfect to share for two. Loved the watermelon and feta salad - very refreshing . The waiter was attentive to our needs , polite and very professional. The manager, Ryan, came to our table to say hello and remind me that she used to work for me when she was just out of high school. it was a delight to see her after all these years and shes still personable and very professionable - jacjsons is very fortunate to have her manage their team!! "Great place to go for drinks only. Ordered meat and cheese board which was good but that's hard to mess up. The oysters rockerfeller tasted like it was mixed with heavy whipping cream (sent back) and ordered the fig, goat cheese salad, figs are out of season so subd with blackberry but, the salad and dressing were so sour/tart you couldn't help but make the worst scrunch up face. Had to send that back too. Drinks were very good. Go only if you plan on drinking."

"Met a friend here for a drink and Tapas. Its located in a movie outdoor mall type atmosphere but it really commands its own space and persona. Great backyard feel covered patio area with enclosed fire pit which really adds to the ambiance. The bar is a flow through option with seats inside and on the patio side of the bar. Great energy and equally attentive service (albeit maybe a tad too attentive at times). Food was excellent with each dish striking a nice balance between freshness and comfort food! I highly recommend Jackson's as a venue for a date, a meeting of friends new or old, and a nice lunch spot for both casual and business affairs. Bravo Jackson's."

"Jackson's specialty is their small plates--a great way to get a lot of tastes in a single meal. The cuisine ranges from innovative to comfort food. The service was superb. Thurston, our waiter, seemed always to be there just when we needed him without being obtrusive. He was also very helpful in guiding us through the extensive menu, and his recommendations were all winners. The service at the bar just as good, even though there was only one person on duty when we were there."
