Bread & Tulips is a 75-seat, rustic, Italian restaurant located in the heart of Nomad. The seasonal menu showcases classic Italian favorites such as brick oven pizzas, house made pastas, an assortment of antipasti and crostini, as well as share plates. The mostly Italian wine list includes over one hundred bottles all priced under $100, in addition to an extensive selection of wines by the glass and quartino. The semi- private chef's table in the wine alcove provides a welcoming space for larger parties. A family style tasting menu with optional wine pairings is also available at the chef's table and throughout the dining room, for groups of 6 or more. Bread & Tulips operates the seasonal rooftop bar and lounge on the 12th floor of the Hotel Giraffe, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The sunset menu features some of the restaurant's most popular dishes, such as pizzas, crostini and charcuterie plates.
"Tucked away in the basement of the Giraffe hotel... this restaurant has become one of my go-to for good food and business meeting.. The entire staff is always so helpful and attentive to my clients' needs.... Food is simple and delicious!!"

"The fresh made pasta was outstanding. The staff was accommodating as my wife wasn't hungry enough for an appetizer and an entree so they doubled up on the appetizer. The meal was topped off with a wonderful cinnamon tea. Excellent!"

"We went on a bad night because they had thrown a sponsored party there that had ended right before our reservation so the place was cleared out and a mess. We were disappointed that they didn't tell us the place would be empty and filled with only left over party attendees when we made our reservation ( we made it only an hour before). Food was very average- tasted like canned sauce and the drinks were fine- nothing special."

"Creative, well prepared food at this Northern Italian bistro. The chicken for two is the best in the city. The pasta dishes are unique and inspiring. There also is a well thought out wine list and interesting cocktails."

"Maybe it's a great hotel and we love the location, but with all the wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood, why would anyone go here? Well, it IS quiet!"

"We received a warm greeting at the door and were shown downstairs to a nice corner table with candlelight and yes, a tulip on the table. Very nice for an intimate birthday dinner. The service is very good, with frequent re-filling of water and delicious bread. Appetizers outstanding-roasted octopus was awesome and crostini with wild mushrooms yum. Entrees great too-seafood excellent and vegetables (tricolored cauliflower, broccoli rabe and fingerling potatoes all wonderful.) A vegetarian or meat eater could eat here and be equally blissful....I want to go back!"

"Extremely satisfied with this restaurant. The food was simple and yet sofisticated, try the crostini, great for sharing! The place wasn't overcrowded thanks to the tables well spaced out, giving you a true privacy feeling. Service was excellent, professional and friendly. On top of all this very affordable! Definitetly to try again."

"B&T is one of my favorite places in the area, and it didn't disappoint when we brought my girlfriend's dad on a Friday night during a snowstorm. The place is warm and inviting, and it was the perfect place to get away from the cold weather. Great food at a great price. Love this place."

"The staff was friendly, but the food was hit or miss. There were four of us dining during restaurant week and at least 2 of our entrees and desserts were bland. However the appetizers were great. If I go back, I think I would just get a few appetizers and skip the rest."

"After being greeted warmly at the door, we were pleasantly surprised at the feel of the place downstairs. On a cold night, it was warm and cozy. I was early and started a drink at the bar. Bartender was quite pleasant. Gave me a water along side my whiskey without being asked:). Service was great. We were delighted with the amuse buche. Apps were fantastic. 2 of 4 entrees great, 2 not so great. Waiter was sympathetic and chef sent us aperitifs to make up for it. We will go back, to try the pizzas next time."

"Went for lunch during restaurant week. Their special menu was limited in choices however the food was wonderful, and the servings were plentiful. Delicious baby beet salad with goat cheese , pappadelle pasta was fresh, others had black squid pasta, also well prepared and flavorful, dessert was a chocolate mousse cake that was excellent. Hostess and waiters were attentive and polite. Next time I would like to try the pizza prepared in a brick oven. Bar and lounge area was very nice, in case you have to wait, I will definitely return. Others in my party will return as well."

"Went first for Restaurant Week to this "unstuffy" gem and the food was so good, we followed up this week to try out the regular menu. Highly recommend the scallop/crispy polenta/chorizo appetizer in kumquat vinaigrette and the duck with mascarpone polenta. Creative cocktail menu begs trying everything, but the Cucumber Detox was so refreshing I confess I had it on both occasions. Both servers we had were warm, friendly, efficient, attentive, helpful with menu choices. The layout meanders from the central entry with three little L-shaped offshoots providing nooks for cozier gatherings or small groups. Most tables are nicely spaced. Brick walls with accent sections in mixed metals and wood add to the comfy feel."
