"I 'stumbled on' Sterling's just doing a 'near here' search on a map site, thought we'd give it a whirl. I was very pleased. The service was very friendly and fast. Nice variety to the menu. I had a steak, only minor complaint was that it was somewhat under done to my medium-well preference (but since I'm fine with medium, it's just a minor issue for me - someone else might give more demerits...)"

"Great dining experience! Food was awesome as always. The menu is a unique blend of exotic and comfort food. We especially loved the goat cheese fondue and the mahi mahi tacos that were on special. We were very impressed with service also.. the place was packed for Mother's Day but we were sat right away and our server was great!"

"Party of three - three different entrees - all entrees excellent. Even though it was Mother's Day and the restaurant quite busy, the food was prepared and presented as though we were the sole party there. We are all looking forward to returning as soon as possible."

"Slightly upscale restaurant with some real gems on its menu. They've a standing offer of a free Prime Rib or Catch-of-the-Day dinner on your birthday, with photo ID. On this occasion, we were a group of 5 that included two birthday diners. However, my husband and I have dined at Sterling's numerous times and also taken friends there, and they've enjoyed it, as well.
A few of their specialties: freshly baked bread, cubed, served with an excellent homemade marinara sauce; wildberry salmon - grilled, with a really wonderful berry sauce; house specialty goat cheese & spinach-stuffed olives served with martinis.
A little pricey, at least for an everyday dining experience, but definitely a nice place for "date night" or a special occasion."

"While food was good, service great, I am always disappointed when dinner for 4 is over $100 and things like salads are extra cost. I would prefer pricing to include at least soup or salad and a variety of choices for potatoe, veggy, etc. When the meal is packaged without personal choices available I feel like I'm in a fast food place."

"Don't let the varied menu deter you - Sterling's does everything very well. My 13-ounce filet (medium rare, of course) was one of the best steaks I have ever had in my 27 years of dining while doing business. Skip the wasabe mashed potatoes - a little too sweet and not enough tang for my taste. I'm trying the bread pudding dessert next time (they were inexplicably out) that I am in town."

"The food was excellent! I wanted to try Sterling Bistro for awhile, but we could never get in. I didn't even know you could make reservations until open table. My husband and I made reservations on our way to the restaurant and got right in! He didn't believe it would work so quickly! I had the blackened white fish. I thought the serving was a little skimpy, but it was so delicious! I started with the caprese salad(which was amazing) and I'm glad I did, because it helped fill me up. My hubby started with the bistro salad. All I can say is YUM! Just delicious! Then he had the sea bass. So Good! Only thing we didn't like...the bread and dipping sauce. Olive oil would have been better and bigger pieces of bread. Other than that...loved it."

"Our Creme Brule was served cold, as in fresh from a very cold fridge. We brought it to the attention of our waitress and she shrugged and it off and did nothing about it. She didn't even offer to take it back to the kitchen. Her only comment is that she hoped we remembered the whole meal and not just the dessert when we were tipping. Yes, we did in fact remember the whole meal. Our main course was excellent and kudo's to the cooking staff, but our waitress' service was terrible and undeserving on a substainial tip. She got 5%. Lucky for her but it should have been less."

"Couldn't be happier with our 'blind' choice. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu. Went on a Sat. night. Had resv. and were sitted promptly even tho there were many patrons waiting for tables. Appetizer recommended by waitress was fantastic. Could have had those shrimp for the whole meal. Presentation also was beyond. Over all, the prices were very reasonable for our dinner/wine and filling! Definitely will go back on the next visit to the Detroit area. Have to love the sculptured room divider! Going to contact that artist! Great job to all at Sterling's!"

"This restaurant was recommended to me by a co-worker of mine and I absolutely loved it. My girlfriend and I went there for Valentine's Day and it was wonderful. The atmosphere was classy, but not uptight and condescending. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Two dishes I would recommend is the Blackened/Grilled Whitefish or the Oscar Filet Mignon.
We will definitely be back!"

"We wanted to try a new place & get away from all the chains...it was highly recommended by a friend. The menu looks good,lots of seafood, chops etc. Waiter was trying hard a nice young guy but poorly trained. Brought the wrong appetizer etc. Took forever for a bottle of wine to arrive. My husband ordered the scallops which were fine but $21 for 4 scallops and a small bit of rice, no sides, no starter seemed strong. Also ordered the stuffed tilapia and salmon which our friends loved. I had the mixed grill which was blackened shrimp very good, steak kabob insufficient seasonings, and mahi mahi good but overcooked. Atmosphere was energetic - the bar looked like it was cozy and fun. Good but not in a hurry to go back."

"On a saturday early evening the bar and dining area were already busy. We arrived 10minutes early having a long drive, but were not seated for half an hour. That was the only disappointment. The menu is very varied and imaginative and the presentations creative. It was a very good experience and we will be back. Both specials, perch and veal chop, were delicious."
