Thierry and Patricia Moity were previous owners of Patou Bistro in Charlotte, NC and Cafe de Bruxelles in New York City.
Delight in Chef Thierry Moity's traditional French cuisine. Chef Moity, who has been cooking since age 13 in some of the finest French restaurants in Europe and New York City. The French cuisine is influenced by a combination of traditions-Patricia comes from the northern part of France near the Belgium border, while Thierry's origins are deeply rooted in the central provinces of the country.
According to Chef Moity, the food is served fast paced and in generous portions." I want everyone to feel welcome in my restaurant". We are working against the stereotype that French food must be intimidating and expensive.

"Caprice Bistro has long been my favorite restaurant in Wilmington. As a 30-something professional wanting an upscale, but laid back environment, their sofa bar on the second level has the perfect atmosphere for drinks after work with a close friend and their bar menu (early evenings) is delicious and reasonably priced for their portions.
Now, if you are looking for a romantic evening out or a restaurant to enjoy ona special occasion, their downstairs bistro is just the spot! Their service is outstanding - knowledgeable, friendly, and polished; they won't rush you so if you want the check, you may want to ask for it. I strongly recommend the mussels for a starter (the small portion is enough to share for 2 people)."

"We really enjoyed this place. There were four adults and three children 10 and younger in our party. Three of us enjoyed the house specialty, the Waterzooi. My wife selected the salmon and said it was the best restaurant meal she had in a very long time. My six-year old loved the curry scallops which was a pleasant surprise for us. My other two sons had the cheese crepes which turned out not to be their favorite, but they haven't had much experience with goat cheese.
Overall, I felt the quality of the food for the price was an excellent value. The ambiance was very enjoyable and our server was very helpful and pleasant."

"We had found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and booked a table a week in advance of our trip. While we were traveling, a waitress in another restaurant recommended it and told us to try the Waterzooi, a seafood stew. My husband did order it and it was fantastic. I got the pork which the waiter said was a staff favorite. Also, excellent. Great ambience. Very small. Don't miss it."

"My husband took me to Caprice Bistro for my birthday. What a wonderful dining experience it was. The food, I had Duck Confit and my husband had the Lamb Shank, was marvelous. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. The homemade desserts were delicious. We will definetly go back again and recommend it to our friends and family."

"My husband and I had a wonderful time at Caprice Bistro. The food was excellent. , Katie, our server was knowledgable and friendly. We tried the house pâté and the flounder. For dessert we had the profiteroles. We had such a good time that we went back the next night. I ordered the flounder again. My husband got a steak that was cooked just the right.My flounder was accompanied by Israeli couscous small green beans, carrots and some shaved squash that tasted like heaven. I forgot to mention that we made reservations both nights but showed up early for the first night and they took us right in. The second night we had an early reservation, moved it to a later time, and still showed up early. They were very forgiving and accommodating."

Wait staff prompt but not dazzling. Food was excellent, mushroom crepe creamy and delicious if a little underseasoned. Unfortunate that they were out of the coq au vin. They keep the wine upstairs (a no-no) which is why the red was too warm, especially for a Beaujolais. Nonetheless, this is a foodie-fit establishment you'll almost certainly appreciate."

"My first experience at Caprice Bistro and the food was all I had heard it would be. Not to mention they carried my favorite wine selection from Willamette Valley Washington pinot noir! Service was very accommodating since we requested an entrée of pasta as an appetizer which was delicious. The escargot was out of this world!

"This was our 1st time @ Caprice Bistro But not our last! Very Good!! Seating is a little tight ! "Caprice was classic french in that the meals were good portions but not too large, they were all served hot and plated with a flare. The mussels to start the meal are a must. Wow. Try the house special. Make sure to get a reservation, I used OpenTable and it was quick. This place is great and stays busy. Nice bar upstairs after you finish."

"Caprice is among the best in dining in Wilmington. Although it may be a little harder to get to due to the parking, it is worth the effort. The food is well prepared with a great presentation, the wine list worthy, and the service is attentive. It is worth the few extra dollars and time to go. I would suggest an upstairs seating if you want more privacy."

"This is the third anniversary in a row that we have gone to Caprice, and it just gets better and better. The endive salad with beet dressing is fabulous, the Grouper special had the most amazing acidic sauce and the steaks are always cooked perfectly. Every year we say we will go back before our anniversary, but never seem to, but with the value for the quality, we will definitely go back. Plus, now there is seating in the sofa bar, which I enjoyed more than downstairs, so that is a plus. An excellent choice for authentic French cuisine in Wilmington that is reasonably priced and not too loud."

"What an incredible restaurant! This dining adventure was certainly memorable. From the delicious martinis to the decadent dessert, we were in foodies' heaven. My husband raved about the mussels, and I loved the pate appetizer. My entre of Waterzooi was definitely one of the best dishes I've ever had, as was the duck that my husband ordered. The chocolate mousse topped off an absolutely incredible meal. I cannot say enough about this wonderful restaurant. The service was great, the ambiance was lovely, and the food was out of this world. We will certainly return to Caprice Bistro. Hopefully, this will become one of our regular "haunts". Can't wait to go again."

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed dinner at this restaurant. The service was great, the seating and table very comfortable, and the dinner itself was superb. We were only in Wilmington for a "weekend getaway" and this was a highlight of our weekend. Will definitely be going there again."

"We went to Caprice Bistro to celebrate our anniversary. The owners are very nice people. Patricia is very friendly and greeted us warmly, as always. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the escargot, the salmon and the trout. The dining room is very cozy and is full of energy. They also have a really cool sofa bar upstairs with excellent cocktails and great service. Try the French 75 martini! We will definitely come back here again."

"My husband and I have been going to Caprice since we moved here four years ago - the food is always delicious and the service, impeccable. Whether we're in the mood for a quiet table, meeting a small group of friends or just up for some interesting conversation at the bar, Caprice never fails to disappoint. Pork cheeks, coq au vin and of course the mussels are among our favorite dishes and the cocktails are some of the more inventive ones. Also a great bar menu!"

"Fabulous French bistro in Wilmington. We were pleasantly surprised. We've eaten in France, and this restaurant is right there. Bread, wine, salads, crepes, trout, dessert (mousse) were all excellent. Coffee was the best I've ever had. Service attentive and unobtrusive. A perfect meal."

"While the food was very good, the portions were small for the price. The service was fair, we felt almost snubbed. The restaurant was small which provided a cosy atmosphere. We went for dinner and the parking close by at that time was non-existent. We had to park about three blocks away. We are not from the area and I later learned that there was a parking deck close by. We saw this restaurant featured on North Carolina Weekend and couldn't wait to eat there, but it did not live up to expectations."

"After discovering this wonderful gem on a house-hunting visit to the area, we have returned time after time. Had our wedding dinner here, our first anniversary also, and have now moved here permanently. Have only had one small issue in all those years, and it was taken care of immediately by one of the owners along with her sincere thanks. We feel like family here and have never been disappointed by the cuisine. The ambience is like most French or Belgian bistros I have visited. Can't say enough positive things about Caprice!"
