"We went to Open Table to find an Asian Restaurant in South Florida. We were give Tony Wu's as a recommendation. We made reservations, and went there.
First, the location was in a relatively deserted strip shopping center; not what we were expecting.
Second, this was NOT an Asian restaurant. Yes, they had two or three items on the menu that would have qualified as such, but it was only 10% of the offerings. The side salad was greens with oil and vinegar dressing. Steaks were grilled; served with baked potato.
While the food was okay, it wasn't what we expected. And for that reason, we were disappointed."
"This restaurant appears to have a loyal group of regulars owing to the very, very good food, friendly service and excellent prices. Entrees come all carte or as a 3 course meal. Though most dishes have an Asian flair, some popular other dishes are the duck and the ribs. Personally, I always opt for one of the wonderful seafood preparations. The restaurant is on the small side and not located in one of the hot spots in town but well worth it anyway. You will need a reservation in high season even on week nights."
"The only fault found with Tony Wu's was that it was hard to find - while there's a sign on the street indicating that it's located in a strip mall, it's well-hidden behind a Publix supermarket with no further signage noticed (we came after dark), so we had to drive around a bit until we finally found it. Otherwise, the service was wonderful, the food very good (sort of a blend of American and Asian), and the prices reasonable (at least by NY standards, but perhaps a little high for FL, although the full dinner menu, with soup or salad, entrée with sides, dessert and coffee was a particularly good deal). The restaurant nicely accommodated one diner's gluten-free diet."
