"This was a perfect choice for our 47th anniversary. We just moved back to NJ after 18 yrs and was looking for an intimate, quiet "dinning" experience for our anniversary. We can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant. Food was perfect, wait staff was always professional but friendly. Food was exceptional, this coming from a real food snob. Ohh still dreaming about the double veal chop with wild mushroom sauce. Finally, thank you for "no cell phones allowed" and we like the BYOB. Looking forward to coming back before our next anniversary:)"

"Whispers is my favorite restaurant. They offer an exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend the sea bass or their Maine lobster and crabcake special that is often an option depending on availability. They added sushi and sashimi not long ago. I was speculative about this addition since they have never been a sushi restaurant. However they even excel in this food category. I can't think of a single complaint. Expect to pay accordingly for a truly wonderful dining experience, but their BYOB status does help to compensate for the price of the food. Besides, it is worth every penny."

"Best sashimi I've ever eaten! The volcano appetizer could have been an entree. It was delicious and there was plenty! The fish just melted In mouth it was so fresh!
It was our first time at Whispers. The staff was very pleasant and on the ready to serve.

"I called to confirm that it was BYOB and the hostess was very pleasant on the phone. We were greeted pleasantly and seated right away. The waitress was professional and confident about the menu. We received a complimentary cucumber salad first course that was very fresh. We ordered the salmon volcano special to start. The rolls were piping hot and perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. When the salmon volcano came out it didn't last long. It was soooo delicious. My boyfriend ordered lamb and I ordered sea bass. Both dishes were outstanding. We finished the evening with the apple caramel cobbler and an espresso. It was an experience to remember and we are looking forward to going back again."

"Haven't been there for awhile just went back after 6 months for a nice romantic evening with my wife and as usual food was outstanding and the service was great. The food is well prepared,with emphasis on a mixed menu of French cuisine.The dining room has a intimate feel.Service was very good,the servers are well informed of all the of all the menu items,and ingredients. It's is very expensive,but certainly worth the price,for a special occasion or if you want to really splurge. Everything was delicious, filet mignon ,and swordfish."

Because the tables for two are so close to large tables(arms touching with neighbors), and the overall noise level, I would not recommend this as romantic. Better for groups."

"My wife and I received a gift from our daughters and sons-in-law for dinner at Whispers. The words "elegant" and "tasteful" come to mind. Our meal was superb from appetizer through dessert. It is a BYO establishment, so remember to bring your favorite vintage. We did not know this in advance, but Whispers offers a service by a nearby liquor store from which I ordered a bottle of wine and which was delivered within 15 minutes."

"I had a bad experience, seeing an offer on their website that was declined when we went to the restaurant. They were not honoring something that was offered on their website as a special menu on Sundays between five and six. Got there at 5:15 and the menu was not offered. The manager called me the next day to apologize but did not make any offer to make it worth my while to go back. Plus....the place is a little too stuffy for me anyway. They kept trying to offer this table right by the kitchen to everyone that came in, even though the place was empty!"

"Two of us ordered rack of lamb. The entire platter was only luke warm. I had convinced the other couple to go there. We were so disappointed. For $41.00, and a restaurant that was not full, I would expect better. I elected not to send the meal back, because one of the men in our party was becoming angry. We will not go there again."

"I went there at the request of my companion. Our reservation was for 9:00 PM. I was surprised at the table we were seated at. It was a small, two person table pushed against the wall between to the entrance to the dining room and a curtain that I can only assume separated us from the entrance to the kitchen because all the servers went that way. The table actually had to be pulled out so my companion could get in & I felt like I was in the traffic lane all the time. It was quite noisy in the dining room as well. So much so that I constantly found myself leaning towards my friend just to be able to hear what she was saying.

"My girl friend and I are always on the lookout for new restaurants to try and selected Whispers for dinner. We found the seating to be cramped and unfortunately our table was alongside an extremely loud party of 8 people. For the first hour of our dinner, it was almost impossible to carry on a conversation over the din coming from the adjoining table. Suffice it to say that this seriously detracted from the overall dining experience. Aside from the noise, the food was very good and the service attentive."
