Rumours East, is a restaurant and wine bar located in East Nashville's historic and trendy 5 points area.
The corner house features a full spectrum of wine and delicious cocktails served by a knowledgeable neighborhood staff. The handcrafted bar is the center piece of the restaurant but the patio and beautiful al fresco dining draws the crowds. Complimented with new chef, Hrant Arakelian's blend of everyday American and Mediterranean cuisine Rumours East is the perfect place for a dinner party by the fire or evening drinks on the lawn.
"I had the lamb chops, which were perfect, and came with an ample portion of a cold concoction of green lentils, kale, and I don't know what else. But it was one of the best vegetable accompaniments I've ever put in my mouth! The food really was outstanding. I'd say the menu was quite limited, and there were only a couple of main dishes that appealed to me, but the one I picked was a real winner. The place is a little Bohemian, and the young host and waitstaff were friendly, but not very polished, which was fine with me, but the service didn't quite rise to the level of the food."

"Got the mussels appetizer and they were the best I have had in years! I wish I would have just ordered that. I was very impressed, however, the linguine entree was very disappointing. While the pasta was homemade, it was stuck together and not cooked properly and the pasta sauce was very spicy which there was no indication it would be such on the menu. I would go there again but not ever get pasta."

"The food was really disappointing. I ordered the sweet potato fries and lamb sausage. The fries were soggy, too thick, and not crispy. The marinara sauce it was paired with was also off. Then the lamb sausage was over powered by one particular spice. One of my friends also ordered the lamb and disliked the spice. I also tried my friends plate of mussels and chorizo and the chorizo was hard and chewy.
However our waitress was wonderful and I loved the overall ambiance of Rumours. Unfortunately the food did not live up to its hype and I will not be returning."

"The server was delightful and the vibe of the place vibrant and welcoming. The appetizer trio that each at our table ordered was disappointing. I wish we had ordered from the dinner menu. Many of the appetizers such as the sheep cheese and quince jam were too skimpy to get an idea of how it was supposed to taste."

"Our first time there. We thought the food was very good and we took advantage of some good specials. However, the overall menu is somewhat overpriced, we thought, especially for the area."

"Rumours has a wide selection of great wines. They also hand craft specialty cocktails that are only $8 during Happy Hour. The ambiance is sexy and perfect for a lovely date. You won't regret ordering the Cheese plate."

"nice restaurant in a residential neighborhood in East Nashville with street parking. Went on a Friday with a 7:30p reservation. Several appetizers to choose from, the cheese plate was very good. Everything is a la carte on the menu. The entree choices are limited to a few selections: beef and lamb and 2 seafood dishes. I was surprised and disappointed that they ran out of the scallops so early in the evening (they could use better planning), but the red snapper was delicious. They have a variety of wines to choose from however, I felt the price point was high (starting around $50) and would like to see a selection with wines offered in the $30-40 range. Overall a nice place but not inexpensive. Expect to spend around $170"

"We went here on a double date with another couple that we know. We all appreciate a good meal and wine. We started with bread basket, yummy! Two of the people at the table ordered the butternut squash soup which was delicious! I had the scallops for dinner and they were good too, perfect portion for a female. The men both had steak which they loved too. Our server was very good, descriptive and courteous. Definitely would go back to Rumours but probably in spring where we could take advantage of awesome patio!"

"We were celebrating a special event and chose Rumours East having been there in the summer for Restaurant Week and made the right choice. We had a memorable evening. The servers were personable and efficient. We shared appetizers of bread basket and a kale salad. The salad was tender, dressed deliciously and the bread basket had a tasty assortment of breads with a very delicious seasoned dipping sauce. My dinner was the most flavorful scallops I have ever eaten presented on just a schmeer of butternut squash puree and accompanied by a crisp and refreshing arugula salad with tiny fresh brussel sprouts-yum. Hubby had lamb stew which was tasty and well seasoned. Glad we got the bread cause hubby used it to sop up every tasty bite of stew. Yum-"

"A big disappointment again from Rumours East. Uninspired, overhyped food - the ribeye was tough and sinewy - the cheese plate could have come from the Publix deli counter, but at $14 was well out of its league and price-point - the craft cocktails were mediocre, and overall, for the price, Nashville has so many better dining options. It's a shame because the space is nice and the service was decent. Back of the house problems kill it from the ground up."
