"They can do much better with their salads. Tried several of them, and they are just not good. Maybe chef go eat one of Paul Martin's salad, to see for self.

"We love RockNFish but it is loud. This is our third time to the Strand House and we find the food is excellent although smaller servings than RockNFish and more expensive and the noise level is very good comparatively. The service is also very good, but I find the service at RockNFish a little better. Of course the Ambiance and view are outstanding. The interior is the best I've seen in MB. We definitely recommend this place to our friends."

"We were in the mood to try something new to celebrate our 8th anniversary and we could not have been happier with our evening at the Strand House! The hostess sat us at a window table with a beautiful view and the waiter and all of the staff were helpful and attentive throughout the evening. We shared the chef's board, the asparagus salad, the fantastic scallops as an entree and saved room for dessert. The waiter highly recommended the donuts, which sounded a little odd, but he was absolutely right that they are out of this world! This is a wonderful spot for any occasion. We will definitely be back soon!"

"I requested a seat by the window to catch the sunset and received the best seat in the house. The view is spectacular and the food is equally as enjoyable. The menu is eclectic and I pushed my own boundaries to be pleasantly suprised. It is pricey, but enjoyable none-the-less."

"We went there for brunch on a Saturday for a friend's birthday. They let me come a few minutes early and decorate the table. Service was awesome! Very friendly staff, especially at the front. Wait staff was very attentive. Food was great and we didn't have to wait long. Unbelievable ocean view. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and would definitely go back again!"

"Met by a pleasant hostess, we waited at the bar for either a booth or view. We ordered a few 'Strand Margaritas' and was not disappointed - the old adage 'pay for what you get' certainly stands true here and applies to the whole evening. A 10 minute wait at worst around 9pm on a Friday night was a surprise for a great table right against the floor to ceiling windows and our waiter was informative, courteous and happy to provide whatever it was we seemed to be looking for, in this instance a lively dinner with a great view where we didn't want to feel rushed. Note there is a quasi-club vibe downstairs on weekends and the ambience most certainly creeps its way up but for me, a little energy never gets in the way of a romantic night out..."

"Celebrated with my sister in law for my closing on a condo. We sat in the bar area and lounged with some yummy cocktails and pupu's for a bit while enjoying the ocean view at sunset. Then we were sat on the upstairs outdoor patio. The patio was nice and had great heat warmers that allowed us to enjoy our meal even though the sun had gone down. Our server was Rick Palma and he was the best!!! He was super friendly, very attentive and gave great recommendations! I had the beef short ribs and they were delicious."

"After a hefty renovation of the existing space (formerly "Beaches"), the Strand House offers excellent food and is priced reasonably enough to be accessible to local diners and tourists. Of course, its ocean view is unparalleled for miles and miles around.
Although management needs to better train and organize its runners, our waitress was friendly and attentive. And management was extremely classy in addressing a question I had about a charge on my bill. Anyone looking for the right spot for a relaxing delicious meal in a beautiful setting should definitely come to the Strand House!"

"We had a wonderful overall experience - the only reason I didn't rate higher was because I had asked for a table by the window and we were unable to get one, although our view was still very nice. The steak tartare was lacking in flavor, but the beet salad, ribeye steak and duck were amazing. The duck melted in your mouth!"

"Our table was placed in a location that never should have been used for diners. DO NOT let staff seat you at table 301. Everyone entering or leaving the north dining area (waiters, bus staff, customers) "brushed" past our table. We spent our meal constantly leaning into the wall so we wouldn't be bumped by passing traffic. The Strand is a noisy environment and we went in with no high expectations of a quiet meal, but the placement of our table and the other diners made the noise so loud we gave up trying to carry on any type of conversation. Not a pleasant experience. I will go back, but will never sit at Table 301 again. It should be removed."

"Truly everything our party of 4 ordered was amazing from appetizers to dessert! Our waiter was perfectly attentive. Only complaint was waiting an extra 30 minutes for our reservation but I kind of expected it at 8:15 on a Saturday night... It was worth the wait!"

"So it was my first time to the restaurant. I wanted to spend a leisurely lunch with friends who had time to kill before their long flight back overseas. The floor to ceiling glass windows facing the Pacific gauranteed a wonderful view no matter where one was seated. I had requested a window seat nevertheless and was thrilled that my request was honored. The day was spectacular, warmer than I had anticipated and when I saw an open table on the terrace I had a change of heart and thought an al fresco meal would make this afternoon all the more memorable. Our waiter was accomondating but after 20 minutes we felt the wind was getting the best of us and sheepishly asked to move yet one more time-hence the 5 star service."

"The food was very good. The view is lovely.
Bread is not offered at the table which is very unfortunate. There is a significant wait for food. The only option is buying Parkerhouse rolls. It felt rude and cheap.
I will not return for dinner. I will still come for brunch (maybe)."

"Place is always crowded, people come for the view, make a reservation, especially if you want one of the outdoor tables on a sunny day. Good menu variety and wine list. Service was patient while we waited for more to join and once all arrived, didn't hurry us along, let us enjoy the view, food, wine and conversation at a leisurely pace."

"Treated a friend to her birthday lunch and it was superb. We wanted the beet salad which was only available on a prix fix menu and the waiter/chef accommodated us perfectly. The sausage pizza was perfect too. Gorgeous setting and very, very nice decor. The thoughtful birthday dessert complete with candle was a very nice touch too!! Can't wait to go back!!"

"Everything was fine, but we happened to be there with a huge group celebrating a birthday and it was too noisy. The view and food made up for some of it, but the resturant design is not conducive to a less nosy dining experience."
