"I was looking forward to a better dining experience than I could get a other " chain" Steakhouses. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I could rate the steaks as " fair" at best. I asked for mine medium and it came out medium rare and touch. My wife's filet was no better. The scalloped potatoes they served were so burning hit i could not eat them during my dinner. i ended up having to take them home. the meal was served with only one side, potatoes. no vegetables at all. For the prices they charge I would have expected much better. I can't imagine I will be back"

"We celebrated my birthday here and had a pleasant evening. Our waiter overhearing our conversation surprised me with a dessert on the house. It was a wonderful creme brulee with a chocolate cookie dough crust. Yummy. My steak was very good and I tried the roasted brussel sprouts which were also very good as one tires of the usual offer of broccoli or the infamous vegetable medley. We look forward to returning"

"The back room where we sat was very nice - perfectly lighted, very quiet, dark wood atmosphere, and a large window over-looking the passers-by. The waiter was fair at best - explaining the menu was his greatest skill, but his attentiveness was lacking. The waitress serving other tables in the room was much more involved, and she seemed to take more care of her guests. The food was OK. I had a dry aged strip steak cooked medium, and it was a little chewy and had a bit too much gristle. The taste was very good. My wife had the lobster tail which was very well presented. It was small, and my wife said it was 'good'."

"I started dinner with the crab cakes, which were very tasty: actually the best I'd ever had. Unfortunately, that was the only food item I enjoyed - everything else was disappointing. The salad was so bland (lettuce & dressing only) - it's description was totally misleading. My Saratoga steak, medium, was rather tough and was flavorless. Good steaks should not need steak sauce. I took it home for my dog. The temperature of my potatoes was so hot, I couldn't eat them for 20 minutes or so. I finally ate them for dessert, since we were not offered dessert. Everyone was very nice and cordial. My waiter was accommodating. The atmosphere was inviting. However, I have no desire to ever go back."

"My husband and I went to Dierdorf & Hart's as a part of our 20th wedding anniversary celebration and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing, steaks perfectly prepared and appetizers and sides that came in generous portions and tasted fantastic. Our server was attentive without being too attentive and we were in a booth where we could sit beside each other which felt cozy. It was a wonderful meal and experience! We will definitely be back!"

"Really delicious steaks. Take a pass on the salad.
Steak was so good. I had the tenderloin and it was prepared very well. Had the scalloped potato side which was also delicious. The only thing I didn't love was the salad. It came with what was described as "dijon vinegarette". But it tasted very bland and like garlic and anchovies instead.
Wine list was very good. Highly recommend"

"My fiance and I were greatly disappointed in the changes made at what had been our "go to" place for special dinners and celebrations.
The dinner rolls were without flavor
The Mayfair/Caesar dressing was watered down.
The Calamari appetizer was greasy and very soggy. It was not accompanied by any dipping sauce.

The point is that in the last 10 years I never had one negative comment. That is the reason we made D&H our go to place. Unfortunately that will change."

"Been a long time since I was at a D&H, in fact they used to have a place downtown that was very fancy. Gone are the waiters in white aprons and the feel of a Ruth's Chris type steak house. They've evolved to a rather causual atmosphere and i"m not talking about the bistro bar area, I'm talking the main dinning room. The waiter was nice, but the service for whatever reason was extremely slow. At least a half hour until our meal was ordered. Steak's were above average but not outstanding. They used to come to the table sizzling, but no more. They still have the top tier pricing though, but the ambiance and service didn't match. Maybe I'm just getting old and grouchy. Not romantic in the least anymore. A shame, we won't be going back"

"Food was excellent, quiet atmosphere. Nice that they don't really have a time they close specifically, if customers are there past 10pm to eat, they stay open."

"Not a very good experience. Steak was almost burnt on the outside and very very rare on the inside. I ordered it medium. My wife ordered chicken with a butternut squash gratin and server said they were out of the gratin. I ordered asparagus with my steak and was told they were out of asparagus. The table behind us had a very loud woman whose phone rang every 10 minutes and she was speaking so loudly on the phone that everyone in the restaraunt could hear her. For spending 150 dollars on dinner, I really expected a better experience. I will say the creme brûlée for dessert was very good."

"The owners need to know that our service was atrocious and the food just OK. There were only six other tables with customers in the Bistro where we ate. The server dropped two dishes on the table and a glass of water on my daughter. He asked my son if he wanted another beer and we had to tell him we ordered it from him 5 minutes ago. The same thing with a iced tea refill for me. He was non-attentive and seemed confused. If the Bistro had been busy you let things like that go but he was standing and talking with a couple he knew and ignoring our needs. I will not go back to this restaurant. I hope this does not represent Mr. Hart and Mr. Dierdorf - - well wait a minute their names are on the awning.... it represents them poorly."

"Hadn't been here in a long time - found the food was still outstanding, but the atmosphere in the steakhouse was definitely geared to an older crowd. Our server also seemed to be handling too many tables and would be gone for long stretches at a time. Overall a great meal, but not a memorable evening..."
