Zin Room
The Zin Room maintains a cozy appearance, warm colors, and the active sights and sounds from the exquisite, floor to ceiling fireplace. Lofty ceilings give way to a semi-private mezzanine area for dining. We offer a lounge area with happy hour Monday thru Saturday from 3:00pm - 6:30pm and all day Sunday. We offer live music several days a week including most Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. An extensive wine list was the inspiration to name the Zin Room, that also presents a selection of classic and contemporary cocktails, including several signature drinks. "The AmaZIN Martini" made with Zinfandel, cream and raspberry liquor or the "Bourbon for Breakfast" featuring bacon infused bourbon made in-house. Guests can expect graceful touches in all the cocktails made at the Zin Room. The Zin Room also features five private rooms for banquets, receptions, and conferences to suit your needs.

"I treated my wife to a Birthday dinner at Zin's and the evening was perfect. Good selection of wines, beers and cocktails. Wanting to try something different we selected the backed wrapped dates (don't miss this treat... amazing).
The dinner was excellent; my wife raved about the Salmon Florentine, while my steak (covered in port wine marinated mushrooms) was as good as it gets in Omaha.
The dessert menu was adequate and the portions were enormous; we probably should have shared the Fried Ice Cream.
The biggest surprise was the entertainment; a singer (formally trained in opera) who crooned Sinatra era toons with remarkable ease. He performs on Friday evenings, and was the highlight of the evening. A great date night!"

"We visited the Zin Room after our wedding and it was a mixed experience. We felt that the food was pretty good, but overpriced and we realized we were definitely paying for the ambience and not a gourmet cuisine. Had a very strange waiter that distracted us from the experience and made us feel very awkward. Overall it was okay, but definitely wouldn't pay that much again, unless we had a gift card, which is how we paid this time."

"We were only in Omaha for one evening and were so pleased to find this restaurant. It is visually very appealing and spacious, with a swanky, deco feel. The menu had a lot of variety and reasonable prices. Everything we ordered was very tasty and the portions were generous. The only downside was that it was very hot inside the night we went. We will definitely return, should we find ourselves in Omaha again."

"We visited The Zin Room for the first time on a Saturday night and were very pleased with our first experience there. The menu offered a twist to many of the main courses and also had burgers which would work well for kids if you wanted to bring them along for a special occasion. The wine selection also offered variety and we were pleased that the reds weren't served too cold, like a lot of restaurants tend to do these days. Our server was excellent - very knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly. His recommendation for dessert was spot on - the Fried Ice Cream was nothing like anything we had ever had before and is a must to try, so save room."

"I was only able to give this restaurant 3 out of 5 stars because of the food, I always order the same thing and the last two times I have eaten here, it hasn't been as good as it once was. In fact, when the Zin room opened, it was my favorite restaurant. I do feel the staff is wonderful and it is a very attractive restaurant."

They brought me a side of risotto instead of the Gouda mac and cheese that I ordered.
They put shrimp on our friends Steak Oscar instead of crab. When we questioned it our server told us the kitchen staff ran out of crab and just decided to substitute it with shrimp without asking us.
My wife ordered Chilean Sea bass and it was [maybe] ½” thick, the thinnest sea bass we’ve ever seen. It looked more like Tilapia. She didn’t say anything until after we left, when she said should didn’t even think it was sea bass at all.
As our sever was rushing past our table, delivering a desert to another table, a portion of what looked like ice cream slid off the dish and onto the floor. The server still served the desert to the table."

"The restaurant had a pretty cool vibe. The brunch menu was routine (pastries, various hot foods such as potatoes, eggs, bacon, & sausage) but decent. There was a carving station, lox, and an omelet station. We ordered two omelets and one was prepared perfectly but the other was inaccurate. There was nothing bad about the food but nothing special either. We found the table service to be slow despite there not being many seated tables. The guy making the omelets was very outgoing and personable though. The price seemed high ($35 per adult) for what we got, and was probably only that high because it was an 'occasion.'"

"The decor was great; beautiful place. Great ambience. The food was very good, I would not go great since I have had better steaks. Our only complaint was service. Our server struggled to come back to check on us and get us new drinks. We ended up only drinking one drink. All of the servers seemed to be in a rush like they were short-handed. A stark difference in a comparable restaurant like Sullivan's where the servers seem calm and are always on top of things. Zin's servers were not as crisp and trained as Sullivan's. For the price level they SHOULD be."

"The Zin Room has a cozy but upbeat urban environment. Very nice wine list and varied menu. I had the cobb salad which was huge and very reasonably priced with a side order of the smoke gouda mac and cheese which was outstanding. My dining partner had the tenderloin medallions that were terrific. Our waitress was very friendly and personable. Restaurant is in a great location if you are going to the Orpheum or Holland Center."

"Friendly and helpful server, interesting cocktail list and wonderfully varied menu. My table-mate's steak was one of the best in recent memory, and the truffle risotto was to die for. Bacon-wrapped dates were DEEEEE-LICIOUS. We had the bananas foster for desert (it's prepared tableside!) and it was awesome. My only suggestion is that they could serve it with HALF the amount of ice cream and that would be PLENTY (even with TWO of us, there was ice cream left over!). We'll be back!"

"The server was overwhelmed, and the kitchen must have been too; because our food took FOREVER to come out. We were having dinner before The Lion King, and I told our server that we were on a time restraint due to the show. The menus (which are quite large and cumbersome)stayed on our table the entire time,and so did our appetizer plates, and salad plates. I spoke with the manager about my concerns with the timing of our food, and he just said that they were really busy. The only reason I came back to the Zin Room was because I had a gift card from the first time I ate there; the gift card was ironically for bad/slow food service! And I was given the same excuse then! I will NEVER be going back. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice..."

"I wanted to love the Zin Room. The atmosphere was nice, we were seated promptly for our reservation, and in a booth which I had requested. BUT, overall the experience fell flat, and for the price, I hoped to have outstanding evening. Our service was just adequate; pretty slow and our server was not engaging or personable. The food was nothing special either. It was not horrible, but nothing great. We will not be rushing to go back, there are too many great restaurants in town."

"Atmosphere OK. Music provided by a man singing Frank Sinatra standards along to his laptop computer. Service was slow, and I didn't like that when the table was cleared between courses, the person handed our forks back to be reused (no tablecloths, so no idea how clean the tables actually were.) Food was HORRIBLE. We started with very salty lettuce wraps and clams served in a weird cheese sauce. Mediocre ceasar salads were next. Entrees were chicken oscar---chicken very overcooked and dried out with very salty crab topping, salmon---again very salty, tenderloin tips (nothing tender about them--they looked like briquettes although they had been ordered medium), and a curry chicken (fair.) $245 w/ tip. NOT WORTH IT!!!!"

"The food was very good and a good value for a fine restaurant. Our server was very undertrained and overwhelmed, unfortunately. Our table in the bar seemed very busy and the TV's seemed out of place. The live guitarist is a nice effect, but slightly creepy and unnecessary at times. Otherwise, the atmosphere is nice. There is definitely a reason it isn't one of the top fine restaurants in Omaha, however. They lack attention to little details that could make it great. Still good food and worth a try."

"My food was excellent. Our server could be a little slow at times, but we were not in a hurry so it didn't matter much to us. Plus I definately think that this is the kind of restaurant that wants you to take your time and enjoy your food and entire experience more that just trying to turn over the table. I found all the staff we encountered to be friendly, upbeat and truly interested in making our dining experience a good one."

"The atmosphere was great. It was classy enough that you can dress up for a special occasion but not so much that you woudn't be comfortable going casual. The food selection was great and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to try. I got the stuffed shrimp and they were delicious! My only complaint is that they were all out of the Bacon infused Bourbon but that just gives me aother reason to go back!"

"We were so disappointed. We've had wonderful experiences at the Zin Room in the past, but this time was different. First we were seated in the bar area looking at the door. Some of the ambiance is lost when you're staring at the ice melt-stained carpet in the entryway. Our server was fine, but she seemed a little inexperienced and unsure. We ordered the filet with the MPG sauce with sides of veggies and mac & cheese. Our filets were undersized and mine was fatty and tough. The sauce had a good flavor, but the gorgonzola was almost non-existent. My veggies were almost all carrots and they were under-cooked. The mac & cheese was good. Overall, I don't know if we'll ever go to the Zin Room again. The magic is gone."

"This is the perfect location for dinner before an event at the Orpheum. If you are trying to eat before a show, I would suggest making a reservation and dining early because they are busy. Our waiter was attentive and worked hard to make sure we didn't miss our show. The food was good. I had the bacon wrapped bbq shrimp and enjoyed it. They offer a variety of food at a wide range of prices so you don't have to break the bank to dine here."
