"After driving past the Pegasus for several years, we finally made a reservation for dinner. Now we're wishing that we had done it years ago! Hospitality was wonderful along with the food and setting. The menu had a broad range from the traditional classics to a contemporary mix sure to please a range of tastes. On a nice day, the roof top deck would yield a spectacular view of the city skyline but the main dining room also had huge windows that opened to take in the nice weather. Definitely worth a visit."

"My wife and I are both of Greek descent. The food was as good as our Mothers and Grandmothers would prepare at home. The atmosphere is very pleasant and airy. Our server, Diogenes, provided stellar service to further complement what was an excellent dining experience. We will definitely return the next time we visit Chicago."

"Food is very good, prices are reasonable, and the service is outstanding. Ask for Niko, he was awesome. After the obligatory Saganaki appetizer, Niko recommended some dishes for us, seafood for my wife, and a lamb meatball dish for me. My daughter got the Pastitsio, baclava for dessert, and all was very good, very authentic. It was amazingly quiet, so conversation was comfortable, also. Highly recommended."

"the service was good but it could've been better. the server was asked if we could have seperate bills after the meal was done and he said he could not help us. also the veggie pasta only had mushrooms and not fair amounts of the other veggies. it was mostly just noodles and sauce."

"So let me preface this by saying that I am not a huge fan of Greek food so perhaps for a Greek food lover this would be more like a 3-4 star. I did love the friendly greeting we recieved upon walking in the door and the service was great. The decor was bright and lovely and on a good day weather wise the open windows in front are an added bonus. The saganaki was just as expected flaming cheese but I was disappointed with my gyro platter as most of the meat was really dry. The chicken dishes were well recieved by our group but the steak was over cooked and not great. All and all, some tweaks to the menu and this place would be much better."

"When I started working at UIC a couple months ago, a neighbor (who is 100% Greek) told me that her favorite Greektown restaurant was Pegasus, so I went there with a friend for dinner. My experience was such that I felt compelled to return to Pegasus for lunch on Mother's Day when my parents and my boyfriend's mother were in from Ohio. Excellent food. Wonderful service. Bright, chipper atmosphere. Perfect for our group of five. You'll find all the traditional Greek specialties, plus some extra-special ones, on the menu at this fantastic Greektown destination. Did I mention the service? I guess I did. Well, it was that good. ;)"

"As always Pegasus has never let me down with great food and great service. Some restaurants like a dark atmosphere but Pegasus feels like you are outside having a great meal in a courtyard. My family loved everything they ate. Lamb shank, combination plates, pork chops and Pastitsio were outstanding. I will always return to this gem!"

"Overall this was a pleasant experience. They did have horrible music playing...too loud, too pop, and not at all matched to the crowd that was there (middle aged to elderly and families). When I am eating, I don't like to be distracted by bad music. The dining room was bright and welcoming. The house salad was small and bland, but all of our entrees were quite good (moussakas, whole grilled fish special, grilled chicken and roasted vegetables). We had the flaming cheese and dolmades, both were good. We were traveling from out of town and again, had a good experience. When we return to Chicago, would probably try other Greek places, not because this one was bad, by any means, but it just wasn't that memorable."

"Everything was wonderful, except all of the food not coming out together. We were a party of six, one meal didn't come out till the others were almost finished.. Guest was not happy."

"I brought a group of 9 people from out of town who were in for a convention. Most had not eaten in a Greek reseturant before. They really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was very condusive to lively conversation. Everyone had a good time and really enjoyed the food. The service was attentive but they gave us time and space to enjoy ourselves and to never feel rushed. I've eaten in many of the resturants in Greek town and found this to on par with the other without the abrupt waiters and the often rush to turn the table."

"We had a wonderful time - our waitress was hilarious and the food was delicious. There were 6 of us so we tried and shared lots of things. The place was packed but our Open Table ressie was honored immediately. We all would definitely go back."

"This is the fourth time my wife and I have been to Pegasus in the last 3 years, by ourselves or with family. The list of unusual appetizers is quite long, the ones we've had have been very flavorful. My favorite entree is the gilled rib lamb chops, spiced just right with Greek herbs. For dessert (if you ave any room left) the galaktoburiko is unbelievable."

"It was our first time at Pegasus. We went early on a Saturday and it was already busy. We started with a spanakopita appetizer -- excellent. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bread is very good. We tried 3 different entrees and all were delicious. Prices were good and the service was great. Of course we had to have some baklava for dessert and it was some of the best we've had. We'll definitely be back. Even though there's a parking lot across the street, the free valet was handy and of course, less money!"

"Greek Town has another gem with Pegasus Restaurant and Taverna! Some of the other dining spots seem outdated next to Pegasus with its fresh approach to Greek food favorites. This place doesn't ride on its reputation, it creates exciting and delicious experiences every time we visit."

"The hosts were very gracious and charming. The restaurant was quaint and cozy. I like the local feel of the atmosphere. The special lamb with artichokes was succulent and plentiful. The baklava and cinnamon ice cream dessert was a surprise match in heaven. My only thumbs down was our waitress who seemed to rush us to pay the bill at least 3 times. The place wasn't packed and we barely finished our dessert. Overall, I would return for the quiet and delicious dining."

"Our waiter was less than enthusiastic. The hostess was very nice and informative. Valet was a nice guy. Main entree was underseasoned and mine was not warm. However, the octopus appetizer was awesome! I would go back just for that. The hummus tasted like it was a boxed mix and the pita that came with it had been grilled with oil. Plain toasted pita would have been much better. Restaurant was not that full when we went, but it was early after a show down the street, so maybe it picks up later. If you like greek food like my husband and I do, find another spot. I would definately return to Greektown, I found keep looking around for a better spot."

"Food was just OK. I've had better Greek food at many other places. The lamb shank needed more cooking time. The octopus, on the other hand, was overcooked. The bread was great. Server was attentive most of the time.
After showing up within five minutes of the reservation time and letting the hostess know about the reservation, the restaurant still cancelled my OpenTable reservation a couple of hours later."

"The wine list is completely filled with greek wines. Great for a date, not too much noise but not that many uncomfortable silences. although service was slow the food came surprisingly quick. Loved that it has its own valet."

"The food was spectacular. The service was a little off. The waiter didn't take our order until 15 minutes after we were done with our appetizers so the food wasn't spaced as it should be. I am glad that we didn't leave though because I had the roasted lamb and it was crazy tender and very nicely seasoned."

"The food was ok. Waiter didn't help suggest anything so I was having some trouble choosing. Apps were great, but thought it was weird that I had to ask for pita bread since regular bread was the only thing on the table."
