"We celebrated my husband's birthday - he had blackened mahi - very small portion with very limited potatoe choices(2).
I had the blackened shrimp with fettucine alfredo. I asked for light blackening but the blackening spice was actually part of the
"alfredo" sauce that was more like "pink" sauce than "white creamy alfredo - I was very disappointed as it was too spicey to enjoy. They also would not substitute a caesar salad for the house salad even if we paid a small upcharge - we had to order & pay full price for the caesar separately & forgo the house salad all together. Luckily I had a $25 coupon as the meal would not have been worth the actual cost. We will not be returning."

"Few comments to share.First off, the best crab cake I've ever eaten. Sadly, I won't go back. At that price point, I think the service needs to be exceptional and it was not. The valet was a little crabby upon arrival and it did not appear to be related to being overwhelmed. Just a bad mood he shared with his customers. Our server, Jessica, while kind was inattentive and we spent far too much time with empty plates in front of us (I began stacking them to get somebody's attention), We had coffee after dinner and sat with empty coffee cups for long periods of time and the restaurant was not that busy so I became frustrated. She tended quickly to checks that had been left behind at empty tables but not to customers who were still dining."

"Whn we arrived, hostess was texting and ignored us, a man came up, grabbed two menus and setaed the two of us (my wife abd me). We told him our name and tgat we had a reservation, and he ignored that. The issue was that we had reservations for four for a birthday celebration, the other members of our party were already seated at another table, and had they not seen us enter, we probably would have sat there for quite a while wondering where they were. Fortunately for us, the waitress, Jessica, was on the ball, new about the bithday, and the rest of the evening and dinner went off without a hitch. Great foo, excellent attention and service and superb ambience."

"Three prime ribs were not hot only luke warm. Were to be Med-rare to rare, all were med. Bake potato was cool, would not melt butter. Sour cream, bacon chips, and chives arive at table 5 to 8 minutes after meal was served. My diet coke refills took two and three times to have refilled. In fact one of the quest stopped the waiter and asked to have my coke refilled. My wife's tenderloin was fine.Robert MacLeod"

"While we had a reservation, we still had a long wait for our table. Service was extremely slow, and when dinners did arrive, half of them were incorrect. There were long waits between courses. "The view of the bay is beautiful here and I requested to sit by a window with a well in advance reservation. I was seated as far away from the bay as possible and put next to the kitchen door. If the restaurant knows they are going to get rated with an open table guest, you think they would want to comply with requests. My daughter ordered the crab cakes and they had vegetables in them as an added filler. You usually would only see this at a cheaper restaurant. The menu is limited and there were no specials. I'm on a restricted diet and asked if they could give me more asparagus instead of the potato and they said no. I asked for the asparagus to be steamed. What I got was 3 buttered scrawny asparagus draped over my filet."

"the food usually is good, but i ordered a filet and it came well done, so i had to sent it back, i asked for red warm center, it ruins the evening when you have to sent your meal back, it took at least another 15 minutes to get my meal while my husband's was alright, i dont usually like to sent food back because it ruined the nite, but the filet was$40.00 and for that price the chef they have need to get it right, it should be perfect for that price"

"My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner at Cloyde's. My husband had the prime rib and he said it was outstanding. I had for the first time the pork chop. It was great tasting and very tender. I usually have the lobster tails which are always delicious , but I thought I would try something different and I was not disappointed.

"The prices are high considering the quality of food and atmosphere. One of our filets was rare instead of medium and had to be cooked further. It took an extremely long time to get it back. The other two members of our party had finished their meals before it was returned. The steaks were flavorful but too salty. Our server was very good but service is rated only good, due to this problem. Considering the competition among steak houses such as Capital Grill, Flemings, Ruth's Chris, etc., we would not go back to Cloyde's."

"We went to Cloyd's on our anniversary back in July and returned because of that experience for a "just because" date night. Awesome once again!
The food, staff and ambience of Cloyd's is top-notch. We dined on lobster and crab cakes. Both were spectacular.
And our waiter, Patrick, was outstanding. We were in no rush and he allowed our conversation to flow uninterrupted. He was perfectly attentive yet unintrusive.
We'll be back again."

"We have had reservations at Cloyd's every year since we began wintering in Naples (2009). Each time, we think that it will impress us - and, thus, we return. This will be our last time. Their prices are out-of-line with other fine dining establishments in the area, their menu is limited, and each time the server has acted like using a Restaurant. com coupon is "tacky". (We had a bad experience last year when they were going to refuse to use it on Valentine's night - even though the coupon did not EXCLUDE holidays. They finally relented and accepted it.) There is no outside dining and the view of Venetian Bay is minimal. If you want "fine dining", maybe Cloyd's fit the bill. For us, Naples offers too many better options."

"There are few totally reliable restaurants in Naples...but Cloyd's tops the list of places you can take guests and relax. You know the food will be great and the service will be perfect. They've been at it for decades and it shows...they do a booming business. The crab cakes are solid crab; the mussels appetizer is the size of an entree; the chopped salad is fabulous. You really can't go wrong here with either the steaks or the fish...it's all good."

"I wanted a special place to take my date atmosphere was outstanding however the prime rib was subpar my date asked to sub green beans for asparagus which they came back to table an agreed but still got green beans I would never go back"

The one negative was the unenthusiastic greeting and farewell from the maitre d' ( he never bothered to look up from his cell phone

"We have been going to Cloyds since the late 90's and had always had a nice experience. However, Sunday left much to be desired. The service was unacceptable...our waiter was 10 minutes to take a drink order, 15 more minutes to ask if we were ready to order and very slow in seeing that our glasses were full and food as we expected. The food itself was very average. I'm hopeful this was the exception rather than the rule, but with so many choices in Naples, it will be awhile before we consider going back."

"They were out of lobsters and the wine we wanted! WTH? Heard from the other tables they were out of a number of things on their special menu? This is at 5:30 mind you. I had to ask three times about our entree's. Took an hour and thirty-five minutes to get served. "They were slammed because everyone came in at the same time"? Again, it was 5:30 and yes, people are going to come in at that hour! Over charged me on two items and the tried to convince us that we had ordered a larger steak than we actually had. Was not happy about that at all. Nice place and the food was very good but a little steep on their pricing. I'm sure their rent is crazy high and they have to charge heavily to cover it but they were more than Morton's or Ruth Chris."

"We try to stop here for dinner at least once each time we come to Naples each February. This time I had salmon and my husband had a filet. He said it was the best steak he had enjoyed in a long time. The salmon was great too. Would recommend this place to anyone."

"Busy place. Service less than expected at fine dining establishment. Food was very good. Space was very unique. Old school, but meeting clientele's wants. Shocking response to a whole tray of food that came crashing down onto two of our guests, who got soaked, literally down to their underwear! Server and owner apologized. Wanted to pay for dry cleaning. Which was the only effort to reconcile the situation. No complimentary dessert, after dinner drink, or discounted bill. So unfortunate after spending $450 on dinner! Won't be back."
