Acqua serves simple, fresh Italian food in a comfortable, neighborhood setting. Our menu includes classic antipasti, paste, and secondi, as well as light, thin-crust pizzas from our traditional wood-burning oven. We offer daily specials—many of them seafood, as our name suggests—and an intriguing selection of Italian wines by the glass and bottle. "We had a family group of 12 looking for a great place on the upper west side for lunch. Acqua fit the bill! The pizzas were fabulous and the other lunch dishes were excellent too. They did a good job of serving everyone in a timely manner. The front and sides open onto the street since it's on the corner, making a rather small place seem spacious, and allowing lots of fresh air in!"

"We went there for a Sunday lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and the value of the meal. The brick oven pizza was excellent as was that pasta dishes. Definitely on the list to return once again."

"You must try the warm spinach salad! It is delicious. So far I have had their fish dishes and they have all been great. The prices are moderate too. It is a great neighborhood place. Love it and will be back!"

"Have been to this restaurant many times in the past and have always liked it. Don't know what has happened to the kitchen, perhaps a complete change over, because the food was nowhere near the quallity we have been used to. The shrimp and bean salad had 3 shrimp and very few beans. The chicken balsamico was drowned in a very unappetizing looking thick dark sauce so I can't figure out how the chicken ended up totally dry. We won't be back."

"I enjoyed my visit to Acqua. I met two friends for a relaxed dinner on a weeknight and enjoyed it. Service was friendly, food was good. We LOVED the antipasto -- really exceptional grilled artichoke hearts and mushrooms with fresh mozzarella. All of us ordered salads. Good, but not great. Veal and chicken were a bit dry/tough, but flavor was good. I'd go back to try other items on the memu."

"We've been here many times and the food is always great. This last time we were there, though, the chef must have had a day off or something because things were not nearly as good as they usually are: the pizza we ordered was bland and a fish dish only so-so. The service was friendly and helpful as usual. With luck they'll bounce back in the future."
