Fin Izakaya is all about authentic and comforting Japanese dining experience. Our menu reflects moments of its own finest ingredients from land and ocean. Our seafood and other fresh ingredients are always hand-picked by our chefs.
Fin's "Izakaya" is a casual place for kicking back with friends after work, and definitely enjoying plenty of sake and beer with foods that complement them. Our hospitality spirits from Japan with a warm welcome,"Irasshaimase!"
will always bring you a smile and a great time!
"Authentic Japanese food just like the drinking houses in Japan. Excellent service - they cheer and greet you when you arrive and leave and our server was so polite and gracious. Favorites include the octopus balls (it's not what it sounds like, it's octopus with this delicious dough around it and shaped into balls), beef tongue and sashimi is fresh and well presented. Lots of sake offered and beers you can't find in other places. Can't wait to go back again soon! This is one of my favorite places in Toronto!"

"Celebrated our 25th anniversary. Staff brought surprise complimentary cake for dessert. What class. Food was excellent: Japanese but not sushi. Definitely will go again. So delicious."

"I came here for lunch with a couple from out of town and they are expert foodies in Japanese food. We all loved the affordable and very reasonable priced menus that allows you to customize rice bowl in various sizes and choose from a great selection of side menus. What we enjoyed the most was the delicious prepared fresh food and the food doesn't do its justice on their colourful lunch menu. I would highly recommend friends to come here for lunch. The only disadvantage is that there is no free parking in the area."

"I love the atmosphere of this place. It's relaxing and comfortable. You're instantly welcomed by the entire staff, and wished farewell when you leave. It's a beautiful taste of Japanese culture. I tried things there that I have never eaten before, like raw squid and beef tongue (and it was really tasty!). The Mega Mugs of beer, (32 oz in one glass!!) were a great offer and we took full advantage of it! The service was great, we weren't rushed to finish our meal and the staff was really friendly. We were there for 3 hours and were fully entertained by watching the chef's create their dishes in an open kitchen. It is a must see place and I highly recommend it."

"Everything is great, except price is on the high side. Dishes are quite small so you need to order quite a number of items to fill the stomach, and the bill keeps adding up."

"If you want a quiet romantic restaurant, this is the wrong one. Fin is a loud, lively Japanese bar with tapas style food. The dishes are small but extremely tasty. They have some of the best Japanese food in Toronto, and one of the few run by Japanese staff. If you go, you must try their signature blow torched mackerel. Each dish is not that expensive, but it can add up and get pricy. Generally the cost is about $30 - $40 pp (not including drinks)."

"I keep returning to Fin for the great food, great sake selection, and authentic Japanese experience (having lived in Japan for several years, I can confirm Fin is authentic). Looking forward to my next meal at Fin's. It will happen soon!"

"This was our 5th time. The food is the main attraction here. Delicious! On a recent Friday, some office dudes made a LOT of noise: then again, izakaya may be like that.
As the evening progresses, the food orders tend to take longer to arrive, but then again, the servers are great, Asahi is on tap, so this is not really a complaint :). Will return!"

"Service was well-intentioned, but the server misplaced an added order and did not notify us until we asked about it. As an izakaya, adding dishes throughout the meal should be expected and should be handled better. We cancelled as we had waited a long time already. They offered us a dessert to compensate, which we took. They got the flavour of the ice cream wrong and realized it. We were fine with the wrong flavour of ice cream. We noted that this evening, their "special" was free dessert anyway. The restaurant was half full, so we expected a little bit more attentitiveness to such things. Food was fine."

"Service this slow during lunch rush is not acceptable. We waited 25 minutes for our food and still did not receive it. We had to flag down our server to get our first dish, raw tuna with rice. Only to be told that our other dish, tofu with rice wasn't available at the beginning, but now will take another 7 mins. Too long! We had to leave.
Food: at Guu, it's fantastic; that's why we came here. This experience: service = terrible."

"Fin has, hands down, THE best Japanese food outside of Japan. I've spent a lot of time in Japan and one of the things I love best is the food, and what you'll find at Fin is what you'll get at an upscale izakaya in Asakusa.
Standout dishes: Tuna Spicy Yukke, Negima (SO good), seafood salad with wasabi dressing, Wholly Holy Garlic (I promise), and Kinoko Mushroom Stone Grill. Get some steamed rice and mix it with the stone grill sauce when you've eaten all the mushrooms.
Also: "Like" them on Facebook. They update daily with awesome specials that you can only find on their Facebook page. And when I posted in advance that I was coming for my birthday, they brought me a birthday treat with my name on it. :)"
