Described in the Zagat guide as “a neighborhood treasure” with "world-class food" this Oakland jewel is a real "treat" at delivering eclectic fare. The "three-course prix-fixe menus are a "steal." The menu encompasses a wide variety of dishes, including pizze, Moroccan lamb tagine, coriander-crusted ahi tuna, wood-oven roasted chicken. Mezzé is featuring a special four-course prix fixe menu for between $24 - $34 (entrée choices are: oxtail, chicken seafood Romesco & vegetarian) which will last until Saturday.

"Mediterranean cuisine at your finger tips. Of course, I had the lamb! Lamb or Fish have to a must when having this type of cuisine (unless you have Goat!)

You'll enjoy a simple mellow ambiance with really nice staff plus a hardworking owner!

If you're into sizable portions then this place is just right. They don't over do it but you'll fill up.

"It took 45 minutes to seat us, eventhough we had reservations. Would have been nice to be offered a glass of wine while we waited. Granted it was Valentines day and they were especially busy. The service was friendly, attentive and timely. The best part of the meal for me was Terri the bartender's potion! Delicious and potent ;-) though I can't remember the name of the vodka concoction! They had a pix fixe menu at $80 per person for V-day. My companion had the Cod which she reported as delicious. Ceviche was bland, Ravioli pretty decent but the stuffed Acorn was super crunchy and not cooked well. The stuffing tasted like crushed glass!"

"My husband & I both enjoyed the Valentine's Day prix fixe menu. We ordered different items all the way and enjoyed sampling both selcetions. Everything was declicious! My only negative comment would be that things seemed to get a little backed up. We were among the early reservations for the evening so it didn't impact us much at all, but there was quite a group waiting when we left."

"Waitress was not knowledgeable of the dinner menu changes, but had no problem pushing cocktails and bar drinks on us before we even sat down. One Shirley Temple, $4.50! Bus staff were efficient and came back frequently to check on us, while the waitress stood at the bar with that confused look on her face. Would not return."

"I don't know if we were just there on an "off" night (we went the night after Valentine's Day), but they were out of half of the items on their menu, and my dish was only luke-warm. The menu looks great - I just wish I could have tried the dish I had my heart set on. The noise level is comfortable, but our server was very soft-spoken and seemingly timid, so we had a hard time hearing her. I don't think I would recommend Mezze to a friend if our experience was typical of a regular night, but I would be willing to give it another chance to find out."

"We tried this place after reading favorable reviews on Yelp. The noise was deafening, and the food was mediocre, at best. The Mezze Platter, a $15 appetizer, had several very small scoops of various unremarkable dips and a container of olives that tasted like they were right out of a jar. With so many wonderful places to eat in the Bay Area, this one doesn't deserve a return visit."

"Always well prepared food... but unfortunately, poorly timed service.. We were nealy finished with our appetizers when our cocktails finally arrived.
Since those sitting at the bar chat with the bartender, and when there is a full house, perhaps a second person behind the bar would be helpful.
Plates were cleared before everyone at our table was finished, an absolute "good service" no-no. Everyone is conscientious but more staff is needed on a busy weekend night."
