"We were not very impressed. I took my 88 year old grandfather for a steak at lunch while I was in from out of state visiting him. There were no baked potatoes. After my grandfather got his steak, he requested steak sauce to which the waiter said that would be no problem and he would be right back. Halfway thru my grandfather's meal, he had to again request the steak sauce. Food was good once we got it but the service was not good. My grandfather's order was not right. Would not go back for a meal. Wine maybe. Thank you."

"Reservation was for 6:45 pm and despite being open for less than 2 hours, they were out chicken fried steak, something they had won an award for. The hostess did not know which dessert they had won an award for and the waitstaff who brought the bread did not know what the asterisks on the menu indicated. The bread tasted like it was from a local grocery store. Meal presentation was nice, but the plate used for salad was too small and made it difficult to cut up the large pieces of lettuce without them spilling onto the table. Salad dressing was delicious and tomatoes marinated in basil was great. Filet was delicious; potatoes were not even warm, but rather cool. It was our anniversary and waitstaff did not recognize that."

"Our dinner at Wild Mushroom was excellent as usual. We do not eat there often but have never come away disappointed.
the food was superb and prepared wonderfully from the seafood bisque to the lemon cheesecake dessert.
The food service was wonderful and made us think that we were the o lying diners in the room..

"My husband and I went here for our Anniversary. Was I pressed with how quick we were seated but after that all expectations were let down. We came here for their well know chicken fried steak. Well first thing out of the waiters month was, " Can I get your drink order and by the way I'm sorry to inform you but we are out of Chicken Fried Steak." Food is overpriced and not very memorable. Our dinner wasm served somewhat on the cold side on a hot plate. Needless to say I won't be back nor will I recommend this place to anyone. The only positive thing I can say is we had a very nice waiter."

"We were celebrating our 44th Anniversary and noted that when making the reservation. Nothing was even said about our special celebration. The year before we celebrated at Rough Creek Lodge at Glen Rose. We were treated like royalty. Was going back to Rough Creek Lodge but convinced myself I would get the same treatment TWM. I must admit the waiter and the young man who set up our drinks were wonderful. The lady kept our water filled. A birthday was celebrated and two young women were on there smart phones and it looked like the manager ask the iphone users how everything was. I did not expect a swarm of people around us but did expect at least a third of what I enjoyed at Rough Creek. Sea Bass was recommended and it was wonderful."

"The dinner was a 16th birthday. It was definitely different to take a teenager to a nice place rather than their usual burgers. It is very expensive but great for a one time deal. Staff was very friendly. Food was good."

"We had been to The Wild Mushroom before and had a great experience.
Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience the next time around.
Although the waiter was very apologetic (and we appreciate that), the appetizer was forgotten and we had to remind the waiter after a 30 minute wait for it.
Also, the waiter mixed up our order with the table next to us and we ended up getting one meal about 15 minutes before the other was delivered.
Not a great experience the second time around, but we have not lost hope."

"Way over priced for what you get! When you see Chicken Fried Steak w/mashed potatoes for $29, should be a sign. Presentation not up to par for price. "We started with the Free Range Quail appetizer, wonderful flavor and cooked to perfection. We would like to see this made in to an entree. "TWM was great. The only negative thing I can say, is we were caught in bad weather and traffic. Fifteen minutes before our reservation we called the restaurant to let them know of our late arrival. When we arrived, we were told our reservation had been cancelled!"

"We went here for our anniversary. The service was outstanding. They were very attentive. Several of the staff wished us Happy Anniversary. The food was great. I could eat the Honey Poppy Seed dressing just by itself. We were so full when we left and we couldn't even eat everything. Prices are not a everyday meal but worth the money. "We have been meaning to try out the Wild Mushroom for some time, so for my girlfriend's birthday we went. We started with an Ahi Tuna appetizer and it was very good. She loves Prime Rib and on Friday, they serve a Prime Rib special. The Prime Rib was outstanding. She said it was the best she had ever had and I agree. The meal came with garlic mash potatoes and asparagus, which was nice because at most fine dining restaurants, all sides are a la cart. We were very pleased with the wine menu and the prices on the wine are very reasonable. Try out the Wild Mushroom... you will enjoy it!"

"The food here is always wonderful. My husband said his steak was better than Del Friscos...he's never said that! The key is that they try to use the freshest ingredients possible and you know from the flavor of the food. The mashed potatoes and coconut rice are amazing! The owners and chef always make a point to stop by and check on you during the meal. The staff is attentive, but not over the top. It's also just a beautiful restaurant."

"I was pleased most of all by the food, it was out of this world great!!! The waitress was very professional and prompt, the setting was beautiful. I had the lobster bisque, a chopped salad, and the sea bass. Everything was delicious beyond imagination but my favorite was the bass with the black truffle sauce, HEAVEN!!! Only thing I wasn't fond of was having people seated next to us that had a very small, loud, crying, screaming child that was allowed to constantly kick the under side of the table making the silverware on the table clang while they laughed and thought it was funny. I like kids, but I like them even better when they are sitting in another part of the restaurant far away from me. I would love to eat here again."

"We really enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely be back. We had the quail as an appetizer, very good and tender. The sauce flavorful and was wonderful on it. They brought us their special Raspberry bread and sea salted butter. They had a wide variety of steak, lamb, buffalo, all kinds of seafood. We had a the prime steak with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. A steak knife was not needed to cut the steak, cooked to perfection! We had shared a salad which was a more than generous portion for both of us. The wait staff was excellent. Ambiance was great and they had an extensive wine list. It is well worth the drive for us. Reservations were recommended but we made them over the Internet. 10 stars in my book!"

"The Wild Mushroom is perfect for a special occasion or a date night. They offer quite a few house specialties that are options you just don't see in other steakhouses.
I opted for the filet mignon and it was okay. I've had filet that was more tender than the one I ate there. Also, I like my filet cooked medium and when my steak came put it was extremely hot. Consequently by the time I finished eating the steak had gone from medium to medium-well.
For dessert we had their lemon citrus coconut cake. It is huge! However it was just okay - I found it very dry.
In summary I think that The Wild Mushroom is a good option for fine dining in Weatherford and I would return."

"A clean, attractive place with great service, it lacked the one thing that you really go to a restuarant for (no?), and that's great food. Oh, 2 out of 4 entrees were "okay" (1 was salad; brown gravy on CFS in Texas?). But my friend's lamb was 3 very thin "chops" doubtfully totallin 5 ozs. We began with French Onion soup, you know that cheese encrusted, steaming hot bowl of "burn your mouth" goodness? Tepid. TEPID! Maybe it was an off night and none of us are complainers and simply let it all pass without comment."

The NY steak strip I had was dry and tough and quite frankly I have had better tasting steaks at Outback . The tenderloin my wife had was not all that tender - her quote "the filet we get at Central Market are like butter, this is tough to chew for tenderloin". The waiter was trying but just was too busy with all his tables- service was as if we had gone to Chili's. If you don't mind a short drive, go to Fort Worth and spend you money ad Edie "V's, Del Frisco or the Capital Grill. I am sure the owners of Wild Mushroom would like their restaurateur to rival those establishments however they fall very short if compared."

"The dining experience with the Wild Mushroom is palate pleasing with beautiful ambiance. This restaurant is unique because the food is always a dining experience, that can accommodate the formal dining experience as well as friends wanting to have a warm and friendly social gathering. "We can't say enough about the Wild Mushroom. The staff and ambiance was very warm and inviting. Brad was everything a world class waiter should be. Unknown to him, he made our 42 anniversary of our first date a very special night. It was so nice to have staff that seemed to really like making this a most enjoyable experience. The food is fantastic. The Wild Mushroom Seafood Indulgence is in a class all its own. The Bone-in Cowboy Ribeye, and the Wild Mushroom Filet are among the best steaks we have ever had. The seafood from our first visit showed us that they truly can do it all. And no matter what, get the Mac and Cheese. We have been here before and we are looking forward to our next visit."

"This was our first time to dine at The Wild Mushroom and it will not be our last. We dined early as we had some distance to drive, so it was rather quiet, but by the time we left it was beginning to fill up quite rapidly and become more lively. I had a filet and my wife the stuffed pork chop. Both were done to perfection and both had excellent flavor. The extremely hot plates kept the food very warm thru the whole meal. The wait staff was attentive, but not in your face, and very efficient."
