"We always eat at Sea Change before attending a Guthrie performance. The service was especially good Tuesday, June 11. The food is always exceptional. We love the Arctic Char so much but tried the trout and loved that too! Now we'll have difficult decisions to make. LOL Keep up the good work. It's a great eating experience."

"We always eat at Sea Change before seeing a show at the Guthrie. We obviously thoroughly enjoy our dining at Sea Change given that we go several times a year. This was the first time I changed my entree. I always have the arctic char and switched to the new trout entree. The trout was very nicely done and presented beautifully. We always share the beet salad and switched this time another salad which was very good but not as unique as the beet salad.
We are very comfortable at Sea Change. The staff is also very pleasant; in fact, our waiter remembers each time and knows what we like!"

"Both salads were excellent. He had the warm beet salad and I had the fresh greens. Both were fabulous. For our entrees, I had the salmon, my husband the scallops. My salmon was excellent, my side dishes just soso. My husbands scallops were good, the side dishes excellent. The deserts were ok. He had the lemon pudding crumle, and I had the raspberry thyme sorbet and some kind of pudding crumble. My issue was with the wine. At $10 a glass, I don't expect to be served the dregs of the bottle. When I complained, I was told (rather condescendingly), that all wines came with dregs at the bottom, but they would be happy to pour me another glass. I agreed to a little, which raised the price of the glass to $13. The $3 in a $140 dinner bothered me."

"Fun experience. Out server Joanne was awesome! Very knowledgeable about the menu but also personable. Food was decent. My wife loved the halibut with oxtail. My steak on the other hand was very poor, but sides were good. Dessert was very good! We both tried a signature drink and it was good. Apps were good as well.
Fun to try, but expensive."

"Was able to book a Saturday evening for 5pm (opening time) at 3:30pm through open table. Arrived early and the bar was open, plenty of comfortable seating while waiting for table. Oysters were 'good' (from GF review), drinks are very good (try a Maker's Manhattan). Service was excellent, but one starter dish was returned due to a fault.. the manager came out and apologized and offered free replacement. Duck was 'good' but go for Medium-Rare. Halibut was very good. Desert was *excellent*. The drinks are overpriced but very good, compare *almost* to Bar La Grasa but Sea Change priced higher. The place was empty when we arrived at 4:45pm but packed by the time we left at 7:50pm. Parking directly outside on meters - but get there early."

"Can I say the bread is incredible? From the potions to the combination of ingredients, Sea Change is a wonderful place to eat. There's something on the menu for everyone - of course fish but also a lovely fried tofu. If you want to take a doggie bag and are going to the theater, the restaurant will hold your food in the frig."

"We went for my boyfriend's birthday and it was outstanding! The food was delicious, the servers (we had a server and a trainee server, so extra attentive service) were quite knowledgeable, and the ambiance perfect for a romantic dinner for two. There was ample room for groups as well, making it a great spot for impressing guests, whether they be clients or family in from out of town. Wonderful restaurant."

"We split the mussels appetizer ( alas no clams on Sunday Evening) and they had a smoky, briny flavor. Perfect portion for splitting. My husband had the arctic char and I had the scallops. Please don't take these off the menu when it gets revised.
Love the wine list - you almost can't go wrong. Everything is geared to seafood so I love to pick a glass of a white that I havent had elsewhere.
My only plea - is there a way to have oyster for less than $36+ dollars a dozen?"

"We ate at Sea Change prior to attending a performance at the Guthrie Theatre. The staff was excellent in suggesting wines to accompany our meal selections and was sure to get us to the theatre on time without rushing us. We had eaten at the bar several times before and know that the bartenders are engaging, entertaining, and deliver drinks to delight the patrons. I think we'll likely eat at the bar in the future because while the food in the restaurant was very good, I'm not a big fan of fish and non-fish options are limited."

"After reading some reviews, I almost cancelled my reservation. That would have been a HUGE mistake. There were four of us and we sampled several dishes. Highly recommend the langoustine and grilled octopus. We had a delicious meal, our server was great and all left wishing we lived closer. This is not a place for everyone but the next time we find ourselves in Minneapolis, we'll definitely return."

"When for lunch for was great, service was slow given we were only about about 5 tables in the restaurant. Disappointment came when we asked congratulate the chef on her award. we were told she didn't have the time ,yet she had been walking through the restaurant during most of the time we were eating. It would have taken no more than a minute for us to say what we wished to, makes me wonder if we were not important enough. There are so many great places to eat I may not have time to stop in the next time I am in town."

"My wife and I celebrated our anniversary dinner with our kids at Sea Change. We had a number of oyster selections that our server was very helpful in describing and our selections, we ordered 2 dozen oysters and had a blast enjoying the fresh flavorful feast. Half priced bottle of wine on Mondays was perfect and we took advantage of a fine selection of wines, the Halibut and rolled Trout were delectably delish and our kids ordered the equally wonderful salmon. Dessert was fantastic and the entire evening was fun and food was spectacular. Service is top notch and the ambiance of Sea Change is beautiful."

"This was my first time at Sea Change as I was in town for business and took a client there, but it would be great for a romantic evening as well. It was a beautiful evening so we ate outside with a great view of the river and bridges and walking paths. The food was excellent. The wine was great. The service was excellent, even outdoors which can be harder on the server. I definitely recommend Sea Change to anyone for a business or personal/romantic dinner."

"We enjoyed everything about Sea Change. Our knowledgable server helped us decide what to order, as we were like kids in a candy store. The Lavender Sapphire jumped out at me from the impressive signature cocktal list, and it did not disappoint -- delicious!
From where we sat, we could see one end of the kitchen, where the staff operated like a well-choreographed ballet, quiet and efficient. All our food arrived swiftly, and beautifully composed. My Bouillabaisse, with its big, butter-browned crouton sporting a generous dollop of rouille, hewed to unassailable southern French authenticity and tradition amid a menu featuring many creative nods to New American Cuisine and molecular gastronomy.
I say get in there and eat!"

"My review of this place would best be described as mixed. The food we had was all very good, however there wasn't much of it. They have a pretty small menu to began with, only 6-7 seafood entrees. The waiter informed us AFTER we ordered drinks that 3 of the items weren't available, five minutes later he came back to inform us that 3 more weren't available. So if we wanted seafood the only choice was soup or Sturgeon. I had the Sturgeon and it was excellent if not on the small side, but it would have been nice for us to be able to try some other things. The appetizers were all very tasty but also very small, really not good for sharing. That said I'd probably go back but I might check ahead to see if they actually have fish."

"Our first visit to Sea Change could not have been better. The ambiance of the space was nice and surprisingly quiet dispite the open nature of the dining area. Our service (Robb) was superb, with the perfect balance of subdued professionalism coupled with friendly knowledge and appropriate advice. All food courses were great. The razor clams casino were uniquely prepared and presented. Our fish dishes (char and haddock) were excellent, as were the desserts. Sea Change is one of the very few restuarants in Twin Cities that serves farro (as a side for sharing) and the awesome "Olivares" as a dessert wine. If you dine at Sea Change, you owe it to yourself to have both farro and Olivares. We'll be back to Sea Change soon."
