"Topped off a business meeting with a dinner at Rossini's based off a co-worker's recommendations. Food was fantastic, service was amazing. For a table of 8 - we were able to still have conversations with the whole table, without feeling like we had to whisper or shout. The Piano player brought a nice touch to relax everyone after a very long day. Definitely going back next time in town."

"Appetizer for the day was an excellent salad w avocado shrimp and scallop. Then, just had to ask for appetizer of ravioli which again was great and thankfully we asked for it as it wasn't on the menu. Bronzino was great. Piano music was a hit. Not too noisy and good enough for conversation!! Nice service team."

"Sunday night dinner with my family was outstanding. Staff treated my 11 and 8 year olds like royalty. This is a classic with old school decor and terrific food. Start with the calamari appetizer and order the lasagna. You will be in food heaven!"

"The food was very good...however, it appears that if you are not a regular the wait staff is an illusion not servicing your needs and making you feel unwelcome..."

"Classic Italian restaurant of yesteryear New York . . . Sadly, a disappearing breed. Nice, dark wood ambiance . .. many businessmen dining; good place for business dinner discussions. Reminds me of Il Monello (Second & East 76th) and Il Nido (East 53rd and Third)"

"Rossinni's in Murray Hill is a quiet, step back in time kind of restaurant, that not only impresses tourists, but NYC locals as well. There is a comfortable bar as you enter into Rossini's, which is a great place to wait for your guests, begin your evening or end the evening with an after dinner cocktail.
The dining room is comfortable, intimate and not overly decorated. All of the dining tables all have nice place settings. The lighting is soft, yet bright enough to read the menu. The live piano player in the background added to the ambiance of the dining experience.
There were a variety of specials as well as a large variety of choices on the main menu. The food all came out at the same time, and was beautifully presented."

"i was surprised that i had never even noticed this restaurant--altho it's in my neighborhood. very nice old-line italian restaurant, with pretty good food, and excellent service. seemed very much a guys-who-do-business kind of place, with a sort of steakhouse atmosphere--which was just fine with us (two businesswomen). a nice discovery, close by...."

"we had reservations before the theatre. We arrived early so we wouldn't be rushed or stressed getting to the play on time. No one was there but that was not a big deal. It was unusual that given we were the only ones there, we had to ask for menu's. We did not really know who was our server. The food was very, very good. The service, once it got going, was good as well.
After dinner, we asked if they could get us a taxi, they said they didn't have the number!! Luckily we were able to get one within 10 minutes. Having to do this was OK but to tell us they don't have a number is crazy.
I would go back; it was a throw back of old Italy and years past. The staff was very interesting too.Not sure if authentic or part of the ambian"

"Seems waiters have all been there forty years and would rather hang out at the waiters' station than pay attention to customers. Wine waiter just pushed the Chianti and couldn't offer any other suggestions. One other waiter just grunted (in Italian?) every time he walked by the table. Food was old and tired like the wait staff."

"Outstanding , I took my husband here for his Birthday. We got stuck in horrible traffic and we ended up being an hour late. They saved the table for us. Dinner, service all terrific . They even had arranged for the singers to sing happy birthday to him. They made it a memorable fun evening. I can't thank them enough!"

"We were welcomed and quickly shown to our table, the staff worked as a team and made sure we promptly had something to drink and a menu to read. Our order was taken without making us feel rushed or hanging around. The food service was good - fast enough to satisfy but not so fast that you wondered if the food had been sitting around. Beware of asking for the desert menu if you are on a diet. When we asked, a plate was set in front of us with each desert laid out there for us to see it. Only one of us was for having a desert but when this platter arrived and sat on the table all four of us had something! Excellent all round, good choice, good service, good food, good atmosphere. Enjoy!"

"Always enjoy the old fashioned service at Rossini and opera night as fun Saturday night in Manhattan. The food is always fresh and well-prepared and the service couldn't be more friendly."

"Live opera music is more of a distraction than a bonus - not great if you're planning to go to visit with friends, too loud to hear each other. Male singer is great, she's okay. Service was lovely, food was good if not great."

"Service was actually excellent until after dessert, when our waiter inexplicably disappeared; otherwise, I would rate the service 4 stars. Moderate noise was because of the pianist, which made it difficult to talk. If you are looking for romance, then the music would not be a problem. The food was excellent, and we will return."

"The service is goog but not great. It is a basement, very old fashion decorated. Absolutely overpriced. We spent 120 $ for a dinner for two whitout wine. The food is great but the dessert are not in the same level."

"I loved the old Italian feel of this place. It has a dated back to the 60's look with a new flare. It was amazing. The service was outstanding. I had to think for a second if I was famous because we were being so doted upon. The food was just as great. The experience was so great. I cannot wait to go back for more!"

"This is a traditional restaurant in the midtown of NY. Music live with singers who knows what they do. Its music specially classic and opera, but with a touch of modern sense. The food is good like the beverages. The price is Ok."

"Rossini's is consistently good. It's an old-school, classic Northen Italian restaurant. Everything is excellent. Had the Lamb chops which were wonderful as were the clams casino. Piano player on Friday night was very good and perfect in the background. Highly recommend!"

"This was our first time @ Rossini's and we loved it. The service was attentive. The pasta dishes were just like grandma use to make. They had 2 opera singers, a nice touch, a little loud if you are trying to converse; but different. Tilapia almondine was delicious, fish was fresh.Gravy homemade, delicious. We found this on open table and so happy we did;would definitely go again."

"Rossini's is an absolute gem! The food is terrific, the service is perfection, the ambiance is a through-back to the classic New York dining experience. It's as though you're in a 1940's movie, with waiters in tuxedos, live music appropriate for the setting. And the food is spectacular! The portions are substantial, the antipasto is excellent, the veal is so tender, the cannoli so fresh."

"The menu is simple, elegant, and everything is done to perfection. This is my favorite restaurant. We don't get to go as often as we like, but make sure to go when celebrating special events. It's not inexpensive, but well worth the bill."

"Our waiter was pretentious and rather annoying. He had a bad attitude and made inappropriate remarks about the way we ordered. The servers and other staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was also delicious and we will likely eat there again."
