Entering its third decade, the Dakota has long been a favorite of jazz legends as well as patrons who savor the best of both art forms, the virtuosity of kitchen and bandstand. You can eat in the dining room and enjoy music second-hand from the adjacent club room; but you can also enjoy the music in the intimate club while making selections from either the bar or dining room menu—the best of both worlds. Patrons must note that online reservations through OpenTable apply to the dining room only. For show information and club reservations please call.
"We had the Mother's Day brunch. The food was fantastic - creative and tasty. The menu didn't offer any choices for children and was expensive for families who needed to feed younger children.
The jazz band was fun and lively.
Overall, a very classy and tasty dining experience."

"I decided to take the family there for mothers day since they advertised it as a "New Orleans Jazza and food" special. Well I'm from New Orleans and there was absolutely nothing on the menu that vaguely resembled anything authentic from NOLA. Just because you put a few french words in the food description that doesn't cut it and to add to the disappointment was the outrageous prices it cost $150 for THREE (3) people. And finally the service was slooooow...... I actually had lunch on the patio earlier in the week and the service was even slower I had to get up as to threaten to walk away before someone came with the bill. So based upon my two miserably experiences and >$200 down the drain stay away from Dakota...."

"Food and service were good, but it was really expensive for what we got. For example, the "chefs cut" was a 10 oz NY strip that was a little overcooked and had a lot of inedible fat. It was $49. Go if you have a show you want to see and the food is good, but not really a destination for the food alone."

"The food was exquisite, with a flair for subtlety. With a wonderful combination of savory, yet delicate sauces, and interesting choice of food groups. The service was wonderful, with a nice touch using a coded coaster to ask for service, and allow yourself a quiet meal without unnecessary interruption. The ambience was perfect, a highly entertaining group was playing and never overpowered the conversation."

"Enjoyed the Easter jazz brunch. Food was outstanding, although rolls or a specialty bread would have been a nice touch with the wild rice omelet. Servers were attentive and efficient, despite the crowd. Member of the party said "Probably the best chicken I've ever had.""

"We were greeted with So much Kindness and seated at Wonderful Table in the Music Lounge Area- we had reservations for Dinner at 6 pm And stayed thru the Music Performance. Our Table was perfectly located to the Stage Show- we even had a 2x5 open floor space to dance!! We opted to try many of the smaller plates and Share with the Table- this way we got to try many flavors and see some of the Most Amazing Food Presentations A Visual delight before we tasted- ARACINI- DUCK CONFIT - STEAMED MUSSELS-AHI TUNA with the biggest Star Fruit Ever!! NEMESIS CAKE&CRACKER JACK for desserts. Pete knew the dishes well and helped us choose a bottle of wine Siena- we enjoyed the wine suggestion so much in fact, we ordered 4 bottles.WE WILL BE BA"

"i love the whole jazz club atmosphere. the performance was great and not too loud like many music/food venues. You can still hear yourself think but enjoy the back drop of great music and an eclectic crowd. The quality of the food was a nice surprise for how reasonably priced it is. And $10 bottles of wine on Tuesdays- icing on the cake."

"We had a great time at the Dakota. The food was good and music and coctails were fantastic.
We arrived on time for our reservation. Our friends were a little late (like maybe 5 minutes)- and had a hard time working with the host to find us - he claimed we were a walk in and they almost didn't make it to our table. We were seated right away, which was great, but my friend was frustrated because the host told her that there was no reservation in my name (there was) and that we must have been "walk in" customers (we were not).
Overall - we had a great experience, after minor delay of seating for the other half of our party arrived."

"Had table next to stage -- listening and up close viewing of one of our favorite bands while noshing on an unexpectedly delicious meal was too perfect. Felt like we were having a George Costanza moment (for any of you who saw that episode you'll know what I mean -- just missing one ingredient that the Dakota can't provide.)"

"The menu and specials are diverse and the quality is very good. The best part of Dakota is the live entrainment. The waitstaff has experience of providing very good service without being obvious during a gig. The noise level before a show or during a break is tolerable."
