Fatta Cuckoo is a 36 seat Restauarant on the very vibrant and flavorful Clinton Street, on the Lower East Side. Leah Tinari and husband Martin Kirchoff opened Fatta Cuckoo in 2011. The kitchen is headed up by Chris Mitchell and all the desserts are made by Leah's mom, Janice Tinari. All of the produce is sourced at the local markets by the chef and owner the very same day it will be served on your plate! The restaurant's seasonal American menu, allows for the kitchen to be influenced by different cuisines and leaves room for many daily seasonal specials, some of which have been inspired by Tinari's family recipes. Please come dine with us and check out our new Fall Menus.
Fatta Cuckoo has a wonderful brunch on the weekends with many savory brunch cocktails. The dinner menu is complemented by a nice wine list and a fabulous cocktail list by Christian Schaal. If you are looking to host a private chef's dinner with 15 to 30 plus we would be happy to accommodate you on a Monday night!
"I wish I hadn't driven so I could take advantage of the "Drunch" deal!! Next time I will be sure to prepare ahead of time for a great alcoholic brunch. Otherwise I had a great meal, hope to come back soon!"

"My party of six was about a half hour late for our 1 PM reservation, but we were seated immediately. Whew! Everyone went for the $25 "drunch" special, which includes an entree and 3 drinks. To my knowledge this is the best brunch deal in the neighborhood, and I was surprised the place wasn't more crowded. I got a short rib, egg, and cheese sandwich, which was delicious. Egg fried just right, yolk slightly runny. Really great idea for a brunch sandwich, albeit a bit messy to eat. Drinks were tasty. Fries (which came with many of the entrees) left a bit to be desired - they were a bit on the soggy side. Hotter oil or more time in the fryer would have made a difference. But overall everyone enjoyed their meal and left with a decent buzz going."

"Fatta Cuckoo was interesting, in a good way. The restaurant is pea-sized. It is very small but it lends I the homey vibe. We had brunch, a group of 5, and were seated at one of their booths (there are only about 4-5 booths in the restaurant. The drinks were small and portions were moderate but very good, regardless. They don't take credit studs so come prepared with cash. This would be an ideal location to rent out for a private party. I would probably eat there again, but try it for dinner instead."

"Ridiculously good fried chicken. I would highly recommend checking out this cute little restaurant to anyone looking for a nice meal in a casual setting. They have lots of great mid-week specials as well."

"Be aware that the restaurant is the size of a living room but the decor is done well for such a small space. The food is very flavorful but I was disappointed in the portions. The drunch menu is a cute concept and that's about it. The drinks are extremely watered down; wish I ordered coffee instead. Service is really slow."

"The kale caesar salad is fantastic, as is the fried chicken. Being from the South, it pains me to pay $20 for 3 pieces of fried chicken, but it was delicious. Locally sourced, blah blah blah. Can't believe it took this long for me to go here."

"For some reason I had thought it would be bigger. The place is tiny! I sat on a really uncomfortable stool and people who crammed in the aisle had their bags/purses rubbing against my back all the time.
The service was OK, but the dishes were far smaller and less lucrative than they looked online. I won't be recommending this place."
